GrubHub had a $4 off deal if you spend $30 and I was about to let them deliver... but this spot is literally around the corner. Saved coins on delivery and picked it up myself! I got the crab fried rice and the coconut shrimp, and let me just say both were giving main character energy.The coconut shrimp came out golden, crispy and flavorful. And their sweet & sour sauce... not the usual thick, gloopy mystery syrup. Nope.This one was thinner and straight-up addictive. Now the crab fried rice...Whew. This is a tiny location with four very small booths and a counter for you to order. I recommend ordering online and swinging by to pick up your food to enjoy in the comfort of your home. On my first visit, I ordered: Massaman curry with pork, hot, $15.99: You can see how I got to the joke at the top of the review now, right? I love me some massaman curry. While lacking peanuts, it was so aromatic and lovely. You can really taste all the bold flavors and the mouthfeel is truly a marvel. Pad Thai cheese with chicken, medium, $16.99: I ordered this mainly because cheese was involved. Cheese on Pad Thai!?! Color me intrigued! Now that I've had it, I can tell you that it's all for the youngsters and cheese adds nothing to this great dish. You won't be mad though because the Pad Thai itself is good. Crab fried rice, medium, $21.00: The amount of crab on top shows that Sebastian from Little Mermaid wasn't used but rather Tamatoa from Moana. Phew! This place is ridiculous! No seriously, the food was so good my brain could only process flavors and "mmm" and "uhhhh" sounds. It's been a minute since I had food that had done that to me. Ordering via DoorDash the only review was a 5 star saying that they had low expectations and also ended up having their mind and tastebuds blown. AMEN TO THAT. It's a sketchy place as night. A very dark parking lot with all the other businesses closed and located behind a bigger building. The establishment is so small inside alone, so you don't really notice any lights u til you're looking for the open sign. When you walk in, the "restaurant" ( I genuine don't know if you can eat inside) is smaller than your average room in a house. BUT DO NOT LET THAT DETOUR YOU, the food was FIVE STARS. This place is legit!! Ordered 2 dishes with chicken. Pad Thai and Cashew Nut! Boy were they both delish!!! I've never tried the food here before, but wanted to lower my salt intake, so I had them make both dishes light on sodium. Man, they knocked it out of the park!!! They made both dishes exactly how I wanted! Low sodium delight! The Pad Thai could've used a little more flavor in terms of lemon and peanuts, but overall, it was tasty. I was in a hurry, so only did takeout, but service was great! Cashier was friendly and very helpful!! Restaurant is tiny and definitely not fancy, but they sure know how to cook! I like this place because they're open late, got the red curry with chicken (16 dollars) , they didn't ask my heat preference so it was plain and no heat at all :/ Also vegetables were super soggy and slimy (how is that even possible) Also I paid 8 dollars for 5 egg rolls and they only gave me 4 which feels kinda scummy. Also saw a review about a bug recently and now I feel kinda gross. Also the main guy doesn't really speak much English and when I asked for chili powder he gave me vinegar lol. Duolingo my guy! Even after 15 years away, this place is still the best in the people are always so nice. As a Filipino I say this is the best Asian restaurant all around Asian restaurant in the valley at least in the east. I'm sorry for a couple other restaurants but this place the consistency. Delicious food but...I want to provide feedback and a suggestion for this restaurant. When a customer orders different heat leveled with the same dish being ordered by multiple people, they should really mark the container with information on what heat/spicy level each container is. Again, the food and service were great - it would just be smart if we knew which one was hot, mild, or medium etc. read more

Oh my gosh, This place is the bomb dot com!!! I was on my way home around 10:30/11ishpm, and it was one of the only places still open. I ordered the panag curry. Sooooo good. A little spicy but man oh man it was sooo good. I live all the way in N.phx and order my thai food here. On another occasion, I ordered the pad thai, it was good but average. Pretty good Thai take out spot! We ordered online via their website and it was ready on time. It's a small restaurant and only has 4 tables for seating. We enjoyed the pineapple fried rice and penang curry. The fried rice has lots of cashews in it which was nice. The pineapple also didn't seem canned either. The penang curry was quite sweet - wish it had more curry flavor. read more

I ordered Panang beef curry "Thai hot." But I could only taste candy-sweet coconut milk. There was little to no flavor/spice, even after adding the "hot sauce" packet, for which I was charged an additional $.60. The meat was tough, chewy, and also flavorless. I picked up pad Thai for lunch and it was good but not great. The pad Thai here doesn't have much in it. A little bit of green onions and egg added but nothing else (that might be because it's more American style. The flavor was ok but basic and didn't have any spicy to it. I only tried the pad Thai so I can't judge Tara Thai completely. read more

When I want spicy noodz I immediately think of Pad Thai. I've been wanting to try Tara Thai 2go and it was on the way home from work so it was a convenient fit. I viewed the menu online and called in my order. The owner(?) was very polite and informed me my order would be ready in 10 minutes. By the time I arrived ~15 minutes later, my order was ready to go and waiting for me on the counter. The booths and dining area were blocked off by the tables. There is no dine in at this time. I was surprised by how small the restaurant is; probably only slightly larger than my living room! The same gentleman greeted me after a minute or so, and he was very polite. The total for my Pad Thai, spicy fried rice, and dumplings was $31. I asked for everything to be made Thai hot- the 4th and spiciest level on their spicy scale. Often times I have asked for the spiciest level and have been disappointed. Dumplings, $6.95 (6 in 1 order, includes dipping sauce): They appear to be homemade! Filled with ground seasoning and deep fried, you can't go wrong! Pad Thai with chicken, $10.95: Classic Pad Thai flavor, particularly tamarind. The Thai hot was HOT! Hot that it got my nose running but not so hot that it was unbearable or unenjoyable to eat. We asked for no bean sprouts. Spicy fried rice with pork, $10.95: Slightly less hot than the Pad Thai, we ate this when the Pad Thai got too hot lol. We enjoyed the seasoning! The portions are generous for the CHEAP price point! Definitely a hidden gem and very authentic! read more

THE BEST Thai I've had to date. Don't be misled by the looks, this place is great and the food tastes great and is cooked well. I am hesitant about Yellow Curry, other places undercook the potatoes or put a bad ratio of meat and potatoes. Their yellow curry is fantastic. Pad Thai is also great. I was craving Thai food last night, so I ordered this last night through Uber Eats. The food was still nice and hot when it arrived . I ordered the pad thai shrimp and a side of white rice. They have a great special going on Uber of buy one get one free on certain items, and the pad thai was one of them. What a great deal! I really enjoyed the food, it was nice and flavorful, and the shrimp was huge! Looking forward to eating these leftovers the next few days. read more

Ordered on doordash and this was genuinely the worst food I have ever had.... I'm looking at the other rating so maybe it was just a bad batch but it feels more like everyone is in on a lie and I didn't get the memo. Ordered food online, mild spice beef PAD SEE EW, BROCCOLI OYSTER SAUCE and the med spice chicken GREEN CURRY were all amazing. There was plenty of flavor in each dish, including the rice. As you enter into the restaurant, the cashier was quick to greet you with a smile and he was professional. The small little dining area of this quaint and everything look clean. Good takeout place but I think it's expensive for what it is. I payed $15 plus tip for drunken noodles. Like I said it was good but I thought it was a bit pricey for a takeout only place and a smaller portion than expected. I think if you are in the area give it a go, they are open late which is nice and food tastes fresh. There is not much of an ambiance because it is only a takeout spot. Found Tara Thai last minute while in Mesa and it did not disappoint! Ordered the drunken noodle, spicy fried rice, yellow curry, panang curry, pad Thai, and Tara Thai special. My favorite was the panang curry and the pad Thai. The pad Thai has so much flavor and was definitely the star! The Tara Thai special had too much onions and the ratio of meat was off; however, it came with 2 fried eggs and they were cooked perfectly! I've only been here once, but the incredibly friendly service makes me want to return very soon. I want to see this place succeed, mostly for selfish reasons because I need another option besides the hospital cafeteria for dinner. I went with my go-to, tofu pad thai. The sauce wasn't quite as strong as I would like, but it was still a good meal. Make that meals because the portion was ginormous! My first time visiting and I love their food. We tried massaman curry and Tara Thai fried rice with spicy level hot. They only have 4 levels of spice level so if you always ordered 3 out of 5 spice level make sure order spice level 2 from here. You don't mess around with Thai spice level ;) Fried rice was fried perfectly seems they used wok. Not sticky at all and very tasty. Curry was also tasty! Their portion is not very big but the price is affordable and good portion for me. It will satisfy you. Plus owner is super nice and he is Thais. We were looking for a quick lunch between baseball game break in Mesa and found Tara Thai2Go. The owner is so nice, food is so tasty and can ask spicy level can be less or more. I did order Pad Thai shrimps and chicken in herbs broth, I am thai so I asked for extremely HOT! They giving a good portion size, still have left to have for two meals on one portion order. This mom and pop Thai to go restaurant is a must try! All the dishes we ordered had so much flavor and not a piece was leftover at the end of dinner. The curry portions were generous and we were able to split each one into 2 dinner bowls. The price was also very reasonable. read more

Don't let this small place fool you, this is a real authentic Thai restaurant that focuses on To Go as seen on the title "2go". But you can sit down and eat there, they have 4 booths to eat in. We ordered Massaman Curry with pork and Tara Thai Fried Rice with beef, both at level 3 spices. Both are very delicious and spicy.. to me! (They have 4 level of spice instead of the typical 5 levels. It's been…read moreabout 1-2 years since I've last eaten or ordered from here and decided to order to go for dinner. The web link on Yelp didn't work so I used menu photos from Yelp. 1. Item M14 -Gang Kiew Waan Roti from the photos says it's served w/ roti. But we were charged an additional $3 for roti, which was not mentioned to me when putting in the order. Only after we received our order and saw the receipt did I check Google. Web link on Google works and it appears they changed the name of the item and removed roti from the name. 2. To go portions are small for the price. Chicken larb was enough for like 2 people and had only one piece of lettuce. Papaya salad was also small and 1/2 the container was garnishes (carrots/cabbage). 3. For a noodle soup, any other place would put noodles separate from its broth. My khao soi came all in one container. Forgot to take a photo while it was in the container but there's an old photo of it somewhere on Yelp. 4. Crab fried rice had barely any crab. 5. There was no white rice. Places usually provide some white rice regardless if you order fried rice but I guess that's an extra charge here. 6. We ordered medium spicy for majority of the dishes because one person can't handle spicy but everything came out mild tasting. Even my khao soi, which I ordered hot spicy level, came out mild. 7. Thai tea was missing. After ordering, I asked the person on the phone to read back my order to me. She listed everything I had ordered including the thai tea. But after the order was picked up (not by me), the thai tea was not included in the order. It's a bit out of the way from here to there so no one is going to drive all the way back to get it. I went elsewhere close by for the thai tea.
