Normally, I would rave about Taste Unlimited. This location used to be my favorite, it had a nice farm stand feel and it was easy to avoid the crowds that deemed the location Taste and turned it from good food to something la de da. The new store had almost no parking, forcing people to park on the field and cross the street to get inside, and when I was inside, my sandwich order took about 30 minutes. I love the food, but the new atmosphere is about being seen, not getting good food. It might just be the rush because the location changed, but if it stays this way, I'm not going to come back. read more

I was there on Saturday, November 3, 2018 for lunch. Ordered a turkey sandwich with chips and a drink. Not very much sauce at all on the sandwich. Very bland. And for $12.00 (very expensive ) not good at all. The cashier was very rude . After I paid the 12.00 I had to ask for my receipt. She gave me a blank stare and basically threw the receipt at me. Definitely not the Taste Unlimited that I knew years ago. I will not be coming back! Ever since you expanded it has changed and not for the better. I will take my business elsewhere. Waited more than an hour for one sandwich. Ordered online and got to Taste for pickup five minutes past the hour wait, knowing that they are always slow even before the pandemic. My order still wasn't ready for another ten minutes. On top of that, the sign out front said stay in your vehicle however there were a ton of people waiting outside the front making it ridiculous and difficult to even get your order. There needs to be way better organization. Very unfortunate as it will definitely affect me choosing to order Taste in the future. read more

Taste Unlimited has always had great food and now they have a facility to match. I run a small tree care crew and we almost always pack a lunch, but anytime we're working close to Taste Unlimited we can't pass up the chance to stop in for the best lunch in Hampton Roads. This place is great. It's a dog friendly eatery which is awesome because I'm always looking for places to take my dog. Everything tastes so fresh and clean. They have house products in the store which people go crazy over. During spring and summer this places is packed and they have a platform outside which live bands sometimes play at. Customer service is awful at Bayview Taste. Placed an online order for ASAP pickup and when we arrived at restaurant every walk in person placing orders received theor orders and left before we received our order. We were told three times our order was next to be made. We found several orders who had pickup times up to 20 minutes after ours that were ready but not ours. Kept getting excuses of new people and only certain people make certain sandwiches and that workers just pick whatever ticket they want go make and just reopening after the pandemic. Um - they were open during the pandemic but had reduced hours. Two different managers did not seem to care. No apologies. No offer to make the sandwiches. Just excuses. Then when we finally received our order my sandwich was made wrong. Again no apologies. Just excuses and eye rolling. Pitiful customer experience. I can't support a restaurant that caused me this much stress and grief. read more

I love Taste Unlimited, every time we visit Virginia Beach I have to indulge. I just recently bought holiday gifts for three different family members online and had some issues with my online order, which was completely my fault, but regardless I needed the issue to be addressed. I had emailed my issues to the company and within an hour got a response and resolution for my issues. Rob Loomis was so helpful, kind, and on point. It was refreshing. So many companies lack quick, efficient and kind customer service these days. I definitely recommend Taste Unlimited! it's ok, i know sounds so down after the other two RAVE reviews, but i think it's up marketed more than anything, i've had much better sandwiches in many other places, and the atmosphere is ok, no covered outside eating spots, so only good for eating there (in the picnic area) in nice weather in the summer. and honestly sooo overpriced for a little sandwich which is ok... maybe i'm just not so well-to-do, as most in the neighbourhood, and that makes me count the dollars more than most? i don't know. but there's probably some nice/interesting candies and things they sell in the shop worth getting as a gift or something, but still overpriced and rather seems like the kind of place you 'want people to see you buy at' than one actually enjoys going to. :-) the va beach type yuppy hangout. :-) no disrespect intended. read more

I think this is a great place to stop to grab a sandwich. I've been 3x so far since moving here in September. I honestly can't remember what I had the first time, but have had the Ham and Harvest Apple (favorite) and today had the Northender (second to the Ham and Harvest Apple) sandwiches, which were both great. Please note that they are not that large like some people may be accustomed to with sandwich shops and they are a little more in price, but are freshly prepared with good ingredients as the trade off. read more

I love this little shop. It had everything I needed in it one fine day. Great selection of wines, peanuts, crackers, cheese, jams and hard to find dips. They also have a wonderful deli that will make you a fresh sandwich while you are shopping. They will also put together a lovely gift basket for you of all the goodies you find. I was visiting one of my college girlfriends who lives in Chesapeake this past weekend and she told me how amazing this place is. When she told me the name I was a bit unimpressed. We decided to pick up a signature lunch box before we made the trek to the beach and I am SO glad we did. I had the Commonwealth sandwich with the Rt 66 Dill Pickle chips, and the lemon bar. The sandwich was one of the BEST sandwiches I have had in YEARS. The lemon bar was equally delicious, but next time I'll opt to have the Key Lime Bar which I had a little taste of. The meats are fresh, veggies and salads are great, chip selection rocks and it is a great place to pick up a hostess gift if you are heading out to a dinner/party. Pick up sandwiches and head to the beach - they are the best you'll find in the area. My insider tip is get your sandwich made to order and not get a premade one... Call ahead (they have your meal ready in 10 minutes typically). The one on shore drive also had great veggies and flowers in the summer. Always nice to get local veggies. read more

This is my favorite of the Taste locations when I have my pup. It has a great outdoor seating area in a very picturesque part of town. Really terrific if you want to grab a picnic basket and head to the beach. I will say though, the interior is very cramped. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED Taste Unlimited. We went down to VA Beach for Memorial Day weekend to visit with some friends, and they suggested we meet at Taste Unlimited for lunch. It's our friends' favorite place to eat, and I can see why. LOVE the fresh ingredients and awesome sandwiches and salads. Prompt, professional, friendly service. Wickedly sinful desserts. My husband and I went into Taste super hungry last night. We ended up ordering over $40 worth of food and drinks. The sandwiches were a little bland, the roasted red pepper soup was delicious. The salad that we spent over $10 on (by adding a lot of extras) had almost no toppings, which was pretty sad, given that we had asked for 8 toppings. A giant, expensive bowl of lettuce. The real disappointment was the service. We were the ONLY people in the place for the half hour we were there, and it was 5pm, so it wasn't like they were closing. When we asked about things on the menu there were some "I'm not sure" answers, but no offer to find out. We asked about getting wine and the teenager behind the register said he'd have to have his manager get it for us...then didn't get the manager (we ended up asking three different people at various times to get a glass of wine). Our food, which we asked for eat-in, was boxed to go and took over 15 min to make, during which time we wondered why we couldn't at least get our soup. When it came out they forgot the pickles and chips. They also announced our names over the loudspeaker, and made us go all the way across the floor, then struggle back to our table with hands full of packages. I don't know if any of this would have been a big deal if we hadn't been sitting there watching FOUR employees laugh and gossip and just hang out behind the register most of the time. I've worked in food service. I know you hang out during slow times. But you still help the customers you have in front of you. read more

I love the atmosphere. They have a beautiful outside eating area and plenty of space on the second floor. They offer a wide arrangement of products. The service was a little slow but it was during the lunch time rush. Unfortunately they didn't have the chicken salad during this visit. I loved the chips and chocolate cluster that I bought.
