Fiancé and chips. A full helping for anyone.

Dropped in for a lunch and had no idea about serving size. I had the Cuban with tots. It was absolutely a full meal. Layers of pulled pork and ham had me in meat sweats. The Mrs got fish and chips. Again. A full meal indeed. They even whipped up some cocktail sauce that was so tasty.

This place is awesome and dog friendly!!! Yayy My boo took me and my little dog to the beach to get away and relax. I decided to Google and find dog friendly restaurants in VA Beach and I found this place. Pros They absolutely love dogs here and loved my dog especially. Dog water bowls are provided Food was awesome - no complaints. Pics attached. We ordered pulled pork nachos, iceberg lettuce wedge, and we had a smores brownie dessert Waitresses were great, down to earth, friendly and gave my dog plenty of attention. He loved them all l LOL. Cons NONE! Yayy

Left this review hanging out in my drafts folder for the longest! But on our visit, service was great, but the tables are quite close and it's pretty loud - so deep convos likely not happening here. Would return to try more!

Always some of the best food in the area. I don't think we've ever had a bad dish. A few of my favorites are the Hangover Burger, the Power Bowls, and any pizza. My kids really enjoy the pizza, and we typically get a mega pretzel as an appetizer. Really good drink selection too--they usually have 20-30 rotating taps for beer and a full menu of cocktails and wine. Service is almost always attentive and friendly. This place can get super crowded around dinner time, but that's usually a good sign for the best restaurants.

Consistent experience! Stopped in for lunch with a few co-workers and we had a wide spread of entrees. Everything came out at the same time and everyone enjoyed their meal. Service Was on point. The pizza was good. Will keep them in the rotation.

I was here on a Sunday night around 5:30 with a group of 6. First time. Unfortunately the AC was not completely working so it was HOT!!! But that is not the norm. It wasn't too busy when we got there but it was packed when we left. And loud. Tables are close together. The menu had lots of options. 2 of us decided to split a margherita pizza and the fried goat cheese salad. Lots of other options and something for everyone. They had for an appetizer a Mega Pretzel Charcuterie and the table next to us got it and it looked amazing!!!!! Could easily feed 4 for an appetizer. Our waitress was wonderful. Huge shoutout for separating the check the way she did. Truly above and beyond. Her name was Daina. Food came out quickly except our salad because the first time they burnt the balls. We got a good laugh. The pizza was a thin crust and very good. And the salad was perfect. The fried goat cheese balls were delicious. They could make those an appetizer just themselves. We also ordered some hummus but they had just run out so we only got 1/2 order of hummus so she was kind of enough to not charge us. They have dessert but I don't see it on the menu online. Everyone enjoyed their food and drinks. It's clearly a popular place. I wouldn't bring my mother - she's 92 and would not like the noise level. Keep that in mind when you go. It is loud. They also have outdoor dining. I would go back.

Updating my previous review. The French Onion soup is now on the menu and delicious. The service was prompt and friendly. The food came out quickly. Even though the restaurant was not full mid-afternoon it was loud. But the soup was great!

Found this place randomly on Apple Maps. And we didn't want fast food. Something decently priced. Oh my oh my did my tastebuds explode of pure goodness. I third wheeled my girl friend & her boyfriend. Boy did we CRUSH our plates. It was a bit busy so the waitresses were scrambling but they did attend to us as much as they could. Soft lighting in there , loved it tbh, people couldn't see me crushing my food. Jk. There was no hiding that, I was def SEEN. #WillComeBack #ComeHereInsteadOfTheBeach #EatEatEat #GoodFoodOnly

We had a wonderful dinner here with a lovely ambiance. The menu offered an impressive range of choices. Each dish we tried was excellent, beautifully presented, and generously portioned without being overwhelming. The beverage selection was equally outstanding. The beer list featured a well-curated mix of familiar favorites and unique selections, and the cocktails served throughout the evening were beautifully crafted. Whether you're looking for something classic or something a bit more adventurous, there was plenty to choose from. Service was excellent as well: attentive, friendly, and perfectly timed throughout the evening. As soon as a dish was finished, she would be there to clear it, and drinks were replenished and refills offered with perfect timing. My only (very small) complaint would be the lighting. The wall sconces were positioned in a way that left bright spots in my eyes, making it a bit difficult to comfortably look across the table at my companion. Overall, it was an excellent dining experience, and we will definitely be back.

Everything about this restaurant is incredible. The staff, the SERVICE, the food. The Chef creates amazing dishes and everything is from scratch. My favorite place!!

Stopped by for a burger and a beer to drown in my solitude. Had great service. Prompt, attentive and genuine. Only downside was some pretentious guy named Jeff kept whining about the hostess and the service being "special needs" because he couldn't get his group prompt service under 15 minutes on a special holiday. If it wasn't for some derogative guy whining off the bell about how the service wasn't up to par every couple minutes I'd have enjoyed what would've been quite a depressing day for me. Other than that, burger was damn heavenly. Beer was cold and good. Service was grand. Some people just ruin it for others. Great spot, great burger, good beer and good folks. B.W.

The last time I set foot inside their Pleasure House Rd location was at least 10 years ago. I celebrated my birthday there as my friends were kind enough to take me out. It was a Sunday morning and I sought out a place that offered brunch. I noticed 1608 was open and decided to head over, especially since I haven't visited them in ages. When I walked in, I noticed their dining room is dimly lit - much darker than I remember. I was greeted immediately by a kind hostess and she proceeded to sit me at a nearby table and provided me with menus (one food, one alcohol). I took my time looking over the food menu, and in the meantime I ordered a pint of Center of the Universe's Bald Irishman and a bottle of Boylan's Black Cherry soda (they do not have a soda fountain). What made this visit memorable was that 1608's bartender, Hunter, was an old acquaintance from back in my restaurant days. He spotted me and came over to say hi. After my meal, I continued to catch up with him at the bar. His presence made a pleasant experience even more fantastic. I thought I was hungry, so I ordered 2 dishes - Smoked Ham Fried Rice and the Breakfast Burrito. According to Hunter, every item is made fresh in house. After biting into each, you could tell that's true. Both the fried rice and burrito were delicious and boasted lots of flavor. Although I prefer my fried rice a bit simpler (if you give me just garlic fried rice, I am SET), 1608's fried rice (veggies, garlic, soy, basmati rice, 2 runny eggs, smoked ham) had a lot going on, which made for a flavorful dish. I liked the rice and the burrito (Korean style fried chicken breast, scrambled eggs, cilantro lime, cheddar, pico de gallo) a lot. I didn't finish either because it was a lot of food (I really thought I was hungry, haha). But these leftovers turned into a fantastic dinner later on. 1608 looked clean and organized, although I thought it was a little too dark inside, at least for brunch service. That's not a dealbreaker since everything from the food to the service was as excellent as I remember. I hope to return soon with my mom. Regardless, I'll find my way back eventually. Thank you, 1608 Crafthouse! And great seeing you again, Hunter! JV

It was something we fussed at her about lol so my son and I decided to have cheeseburgers in her honor. Craft Bar was recommended when I searched best burger on Yelp, so we gave it a try. We were able to be seated pretty immediately and our serve came to wait on us quickly! I ordered the Black and Blue burger with sweet potatoes waffle fried, and my son ordered a bacon cheeseburger with regular fries. I got my burger with a little pink, and it was cooked to perfection! Sometimes I am hesitant to get pink because it's been to raw. The burger was not only cooked to perfection, I really loved the bleu cheese sauce and grilled onions. The waffle fries with the cinnamon/brown sugar sauce were great as well. My son also really enjoyed his burger, but he did say his fries tasted like shrimp. I tasted them, and they didn't taste like shrimp but they did have a distinct taste. I can't really describe it, but I didn't like it. Otherwise we had a great visit, one of the best burgers I've had, and really good, quick service! I am sure we were in and out in under an hour with everything still being super fresh!

Our first table ended up being under a spotlight that was directly in our line of sight (it looked like it was meant for the specials board), so we asked to move. Staff was accommodating and got us to a better table quickly. The space itself is really nice. It was clean, rustically decorated, and the live plants in liquor bottles on the tables are a nice touch. Our server was friendly from the start and took drink orders right away. My daughter and I had sodas, and my husband ordered the Southern Charm Old Fashioned off the specials menu, which he enjoyed. The menu is on the smaller side, which we actually like. One unique detail was the option to "buy a round for the kitchen," which we thought was a really nice touch and decided to add it when we ordered our appetizer. We started with the fried deviled eggs after a friend recommended them. They were creative with three styles (classic with pickle, togarashi ginger, and crispy prosciutto), but overall a bit on the dry side and not as flavorful as we expected. We asked for Dijon, but they don't have it. Our server suggested and brought out the Baja dipping sauce instead, which did pair well and kind of improved them. My husband had the fish and chips and really enjoyed it. He said the fish was flaky and well cooked. I ordered the Union grilled cheese, which unfortunately seemed like it had been sitting a bit before being served, as the bottom was soggy. It was just okay overall and not particularly memorable for the price. The sweet potato fries on the side were the clear standout. They were crispy, the perfect balance of sweet and salty and honestly the best part of the dish. Our daughter had the kid's smashburger. It was exactly that. Service throughout the meal was good. She was friendly, attentive without being overbearing, and there when needed. The main disappointment came at the end. When our meals were served, the server actually offered sauces at the table (ketchup, mayo, ranch, etc.), and specifically suggested items like the baja sauce for the eggs and ranch to us. Because of that, we were surprised to see several charges for the sauces on the bill, especially since they were offered and recommended at the table with no mention of any additional cost. We were also charged a credit card fee, with no signage anywhere (entrance, hostess stand, or menu) indicating that paying with a card would include an extra charge. It just left an unnecessary sour note on an otherwise solid, casual meal. Nothing was bad, and nothing really stood out as exceptional, but the lack of transparency around those final charges really impacted the overall experience for us.
