When you visit a restaurant twice in one week for the first time you know it's legit. My bestie came from out of town this past Friday and we had a whole agenda and this restaurant was our last stop before dinner so basically we had an early appetizer if you will. We arrived about 4pm and the parking lot was kind of full but it still was a spot available for us. We walked in was greeted promptly and we had the option to sit inside or Dine Outdoors...knowing myself I love an outdoor adventure so outdoors we went... The Hostess mentioned they have a bridge that was open as well and I believe the bridge is open on Fridays and Saturdays if I'm not mistaken ... nevertheless we decided to dine on the bridge this past Friday. Omg so so so in love!! I can make this review probably about 2 pages long but I'll cut it short for you. Our super cute waitress Haley was the best... attentive informative personable a gem and made our first experience all the more amazing. We did ask for suggestions... she made suggestions for us... I ordered a cocktail and my bestie ordered a beer. My cocktail was just ok but he loved his beer of choice. We didn't want to order anything that was going to be heavy so we decided to split the Godfather Pizza and OMG it was so good so good. We knew we were returning before his departure. Here we are again Sunday during brunch hours and this time we invited another bestie it's a trio yes! We arrived about 2:00 p.m. and still decided to dine outdoors. I believe the bridge wasn't open for whatever reason on Sunday nevertheless we were able to sit on the patio. Our lovely waitress Katie was super as well. Haley and Katie kind of look like twins so I was like okay this experience will probably hit the same as Friday and needless to say it did. Katie was super awesome as well ...super attentive super patient I mean New River these two ladies are keepers and Katie shared with us that she's getting married soon so congratulations again pretty girl. Even though brunch was taking place you are still able to order pizza from the lunch / dinner menu. We ordered the Godfather again of course we ordered the chicken Parmesan pizza I forgot the name of that and the Hawaiian pizza all of them were good but my favorite on this go around was the chicken Parmesan pizza. I ate all of it even though we did share slices amongst us all the Godfather is definitely a close second. We tried the Mimosa flight it was okay I'm not a mimosa girl but the other two in my party they enjoyed it. I did have a glass of the Pinot Noir wine I'm definitely a red wine girl so the wine was right on time...right up my alley. We decided we love it here and when my bestie is visiting from Florida he already said this place is a must dine. Always some of the best food in the area. I don't think we've ever had a bad dish. A few of my favorites are the Hangover Burger, the Power Bowls, and any pizza. My kids really enjoy the pizza, and we typically get a mega pretzel as an appetizer. Really good drink selection too--they usually have 20-30 rotating taps for beer and a full menu of cocktails and wine. Service is almost always attentive and friendly. This place can get super crowded around dinner time, but that's usually a good sign for the best restaurants. read more

I was here on a Sunday night around 5:30 with a group of 6. First time. Unfortunately the AC was not completely working so it was HOT!!! But that is not the norm. It wasn't too busy when we got there but it was packed when we left. And loud. Tables are close together. The menu had lots of options. 2 of us decided to split a margherita pizza and the fried goat cheese salad. Lots of other options and something for everyone. They had for an appetizer a Mega Pretzel Charcuterie and the table next to us got it and it looked amazing!!!!! Could easily feed 4 for an appetizer. Our waitress was wonderful. Huge shoutout for separating the check the way she did. Truly above and beyond. Her name was Daina. Food came out quickly except our salad because the first time they burnt the balls. We got a good laugh. The pizza was a thin crust and very good. And the salad was perfect. The fried goat cheese balls were delicious. They could make those an appetizer just themselves. We also ordered some hummus but they had just run out so we only got 1/2 order of hummus so she was kind of enough to not charge us. They have dessert but I don't see it on the menu online. Everyone enjoyed their food and drinks. It's clearly a popular place. I wouldn't bring my mother - she's 92 and would not like the noise level. Keep that in mind when you go. It is loud. Drove a bit to get there and parking was a challenge at 530 but got the last seat at the bar and ordered a beer from a very helpful bartender. The Brussels sprout snack was amazing ! Not your mom's Brussel sprouts for sure !! I am not a burger guy but the person next to me had a sourdough parm burger that looked great so I had one as well. Very good but after the sprouts I could only eat half so my dog was very happy that I brought the rest home to him !! Came here on a whim while looking for something to eat for lunch. We were pleasantly surprised and how good it ended up being. We sat inside behind the bar, but would like to come back to enjoy the outdoor seating in the future. We ordered some wings and an Italian sandwich with sweet potato fries. The wings were good, nothing crazy. The Italian sandwich was delicious and a very good sized portion for the price. The pesto and balsamic dressing along with the banana peppers on the sandwich was a really nice touch. The sweet potato fries were also delicious and fresh. We were excited to try this restaurant. Ordered our food and drinks then the waiter came back to the table 10 minutes later stating they were out of the steak we ordered. They were willing to accommodate with an alternative steak option, but took forever for our food to arrive. A table that was seated 30 minutes after us got their food and drinks, ate and stacked their plates before we even got our food. When our food began to arrive the bread on the steak and cheese was hard as a rock, and onion rings were overcooked. Kitchen manager was dismissive, unapologetic and not friendly whatsoever. The general manager talked more than she listened and appeared very offended that we declined our food due to the quality, and amount of time we waited. Our waiter was pleasant, but that's about it. We were instantly sat outside upon our request but it soon became cold so we asked to move inside. They instantly moved us. We ordered oyster Rockefeller as an appetizer off the specials menu (it's different everyday). These were the absolute best oysters Rockefeller I've ever experienced. I didn't have to add any sauce. It was to die for. I wish they had them on the regular menu. They were extremely busy but Natalie was always checking in on us. I had a bottle of moscato that I was able to take what was left home. I try to make this a weekly outing if I can. My only request is the manager keeps her cool a little better. We heard her scream at an employee in the restroom and the time before that she was freaking out about a water leak in the bar. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and I love how they have indoor and outdoor seating. If it were slightly warmer, I definitely would have sat outside. Our server greeted us right away and had such a great personality. She mentioned how every item on the menu was great and we couldn't go wrong with whatever we chose. After looking over the Drink Menu, I chose the Hot & Juicy Margarita which included fresh blood orange and lime juices with hot honey and a tajin rim! It was absolutely wonderful! For my entree, I ordered the Seafood Sampler, which included fried flounder, fried jumbo shrimp, and a crab cake along with fries and cole slaw. The seafood was pretty good but my favorite was the flounder and shrimp, which were cooked perfectly and tasted very fresh. Unfortunately, the crab cake was mediocre and was missing some flavor. One son got the Cali burger and the other son got meatloaf. My pasta was dry and the three different meats were overcooked and dry. The chicken was rubbery, the shrimp was chewy and the sausage felt dehydrated. My husband said he enjoyed his fish tacos but the potato salad lacked flavor. My son said his burger was ok. My other son said he enjoyed his meatloaf. We also ordered a veggie pizza and the crust was so soggy. I know that can happen with veggie pizzas but it was disappointing. We went to New River Tap House to celebrate a birthday and were so glad we chose this place! We went on a Friday night and it was pretty packed and busy. We were told the wait would be about 40 minutes for our group of 6 but we only waited about 15 minutes! The ambiance when you walk in is tavern-like but for some reason it seems a little more upscale in my opinion. Their upstairs can be rented out for large parties up to 50 people and it definitely gives Great Gatsby vibes! You could definitely dress it up to come here or keep it casual. Now the food is SPECTACULAR. We started off with an espresso martini, we tried both the regular and the frozen one. Both were quite amazing and well-balanced! I like mine a little more sweet and a little less strong but these 2 seemed to have the perfect balance between the 2. We had the Mega Pretzel as an appetizer and boy they weren't lying when they said this thing was Mega. The pretzel came with 3 dipping sauces: cheese, mustard and cinnamon. I unfortunately did not try the cheese but the mustard and cinnamon spreads were chefs kiss. The mustard was heavy on the horse radish so if you don't like that kind of taste I wouldn't go for that, but I loved it. The cinnamon was sweet but not too sweet. I ordered the surf and turf and all I can say is I inhaled the entire thing. My goodness. I ordered the filet medium rare and they gave me just that. It was cooked to perfection. The harmony between the risotto, the fresh veggies, pickled veggies, meat and shrimp was just heavenly. The kale was roasted perfectly and literally crumbled in your mouth as you ate it. The watermelon radish and cucumbers added a nice refreshing touch. The pickled veggies were a little spicy to my liking due to the jalapeño but if you don't mind a little spice you'd probably love it. I honestly still ate it all because it was just THAT good. Everything on this dish was well thought out. I loved all of it. If you're debating between this dish and another, just go ahead and do yourself a favor and pick this one haha. You won't be disappointed. I definitely plan on coming back to try more things, but man that surf and turf entree is going to make it hard for me to order anything else haha. Everything sounded so good in the menu, but we were disappointed with some of the dishes. The macaroni and cheese was simply bland and very milky. Would not order again. I wasn't that impressed with the fish and chips either. Although the fish itself was decent, they were slightly overcooked and the batter did not adhere very well. The fries were average. The French dip sandwiches that my two aunts had were looking good and they did enjoy them. The service was great and we enjoyed sitting on the patio.
