I've always loved Taste Unlimited for their fresh ingredients and high-quality sandwiches, and their February special, the Antipasto Sandwich, did not disappoint! Packed with salami, fresh mozzarella, grilled artichoke, roasted red peppers, pesto and a zesty balsamic drizzle, this sandwich is bursting with bold flavors. The combination of salty, savory, and tangy notes makes every bite delicious. Served on their rosemary ciabatta bread, it has the perfect crunch on the outside with a soft, airy inside. Pair it with one of their house-made soups or a side of their addictive chips (dill pickle ones are my FAV) and you've got a meal worth coming back for. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere at Taste is always welcoming. If you're a fan of classic Italian flavors, don't miss out on this limited-time sandwich!m

Taste was a fun stop on our way to Virginia Beach. We grabbed a fresh shrimp salad to go and ate on the beach. It's also a great place to dine in, especially on Fridays with live music in the summer ! Don't forget to stop by the outdoor produce stand on your way out!

Despite a large crowd and a warning of a 30 minute wait, our sandwiches were ready in about 10 minutes. Since the weather was nice, there was plenty of seating to choose from both inside and out.

After spending $35.00 for 2 sandwiches I was asked for my phone number so they can text me when my order was ready. I explained that I am the only guy here and I will be standing right there waiting on my sandwich. I even tipped her. I was told next time I will have to provide a phone number. There won't be a next time if a guy has to carry a phone to order 2 sandwiches for $35.00 and not even get a Thank you.

I was visiting Taste for the first time, with my adult daughter who lives in Virginia Beach. She had been to this Taste numerous times, as well as to some of their other locations in Virginia Beach and Norfolk. Our visit was for a late breakfast/early lunch on a Sunday morning in mid-April, 2023. For a first-timer, I found the layout of the store/restaurant to be a tad confusing. When you enter, there's a wide variety of take-out items -- refrigerated packaged sandwiches, salads, juices, bakery items, wines, pantry items, and more. My daughter thankfully directed us to the counter where we could order fresh sandwiches, salads, and soups. I ordered the Thai Salad ($12.99), which features house-roasted chicken breast, red cabbage, shredded carrots, cucumber, roasted red peppers, and crushed peanuts on romaine with a Thai peanut vinaigrette and topped with crunchy noodles. It's served in an eco-friendly bowl with a bread end. My daughter ordered a Princess Anne Signature Sandwich ($8.99). This is a meatless sandwich which features Havarti cheese, avocado, roasted red peppers, romaine, tomato, and roasted red pepper aioli on multigrain bread. We both also "made it a meal", which added a small bag of Route 66 chips and Boylan's fountain drink for an additional $3.99 each. Food quality. 5/5. Our food tasted fresh, and was very tasty. The quantity was also good. I had leftover salad for lunch the next day and my daughter had half of her sandwich. Atmosphere. 4/5. The restaurant/shop is large, with plentiful seating on the 2nd floor. As mentioned, it is a bit confusing with options for eating in or take out. Tables were clean, as was the restroom. Service was fast and efficient. Value. (3/5). We found the restaurant to be a bit a expensive for a sandwich or salad, and even more once you add chips and a drink. However, the quality of the ingredients used was good as were the portions. Parking was also easy on a Sunday morning in April. I could imagine though that it might be tight in the summer. We also noticed bicycle racks, and some patrons buying provisions for their bike ride.

We had lunch at Taste on Shore Drive. It is their flagship location and it's huge. It was a beautiful day and we sat outside where there was plenty shaded seating. Not only is it a very nice sandwich shop but has a grab and go section , gifts, assorted wines, beer, and all kids of delicious food (dinners, snacks, cheeses, deserts etc) to take home. I my favorite and go to sandwich is the Northennder but today I tried something different, the Inlet. Everything is good so you can't go wrong. The kids got Turkey bento boxes They have a rewards program and the first cashier did not ask me for my number and I forgot as my grandkids were in a mad rush to play outside in the fenced in yard. I went back to get them more BBQ chips and the next cashier was nice enough to ask me and get my last order on my account. You just have to ask.

After Biking through Bayville park with my girlfriend, we decided to stop and grab a bite at TASTE. There is a large selection of quality snacks and treats as well as a mouthwatering menu of healthy meals. We got the "Northender" on ciabatta and the "Granny Goat Salad". Both were delicious and we felt great after. TASTE is also perfect for ordering a meal to-go to take to the beach.

Taste is one of the best sandwich shops in the area. I absolutely love their fresh ingredients in their sandwiches and soups and also how they offer specialty foods and wines in their stores. The staff in every store I've been in have always been super nice and welcoming. My go-to sandwich is always the Virginian, which is a signature sandwich made with prosciutto, turkey, baked ham, provolone, romaine lettuce, tomato and banana peppers on ciabatta bread! It's simply perfection! I also purchase the Tortellini Salad to go with it which is also just as great. My daughter always builds her own sandwich which consists of meat, cheese and lettuce on ciabatta bread, simple but very tasty. I tried the Chicken Pot Pie Soup for the first time and it was different due to the slight sour taste but very delicious. It consisted of pot pie ingredients just without the crust but it was great! Taste is the perfect spot to get a great tasting sandwich or even items for a fun picnic or party. I've never had a bad experience with Taste and I love trying a new item every time I go whether it be a new drink, soup or dip!

Every time I go to Taste I'm not disappointed. All ingredients are fresh and all meals that I've had have been tasty. If I had any gripe it would be the overall cost.

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED Taste Unlimited. We went down to VA Beach for Memorial Day weekend to visit with some friends, and they suggested we meet at Taste Unlimited for lunch. It's our friends' favorite place to eat, and I can see why. LOVE the fresh ingredients and awesome sandwiches and salads. Prompt, professional, friendly service. Wickedly sinful desserts. It was so good, we went back for lunch the next day, too. I wish there was a Taste Unlimited near our house - I'd eat there every day if I could. read more

My husband and I went into Taste super hungry last night. We ended up ordering over $40 worth of food and drinks. The sandwiches were a little bland, the roasted red pepper soup was delicious. The salad that we spent over $10 on (by adding a lot of extras) had almost no toppings, which was pretty sad, given that we had asked for 8 toppings. A giant, expensive bowl of lettuce. The real disappointment was the service. We were the ONLY people in the place for the half hour we were there, and it was 5pm, so it wasn't like they were closing. When we asked about things on the menu there were some "I'm not sure" answers, but no offer to find out. We asked about getting wine and the teenager behind the register said he'd have to have his manager get it for us...then didn't get the manager (we ended up asking three different people at various times to get a glass of wine). Our food, which we asked for eat-in, was boxed to go and took over 15 min to make, during which time we wondered why we couldn't at least get our soup. When it came out they forgot the pickles and chips. They also announced our names over the loudspeaker, and made us go all the way across the floor, then struggle back to our table with hands full of packages. I don't know if any of this would have been a big deal if we hadn't been sitting there watching FOUR employees laugh and gossip and just hang out behind the register most of the time. I've worked in food service. I know you hang out during slow times. But you still help the customers you have in front of you. read more

I love the atmosphere. They have a beautiful outside eating area and plenty of space on the second floor. They offer a wide arrangement of products. The service was a little slow but it was during the lunch time rush. Unfortunately they didn't have the chicken salad during this visit. I loved the chips and chocolate cluster that I bought. I also love that they offer free samples. The food is a little expensive but really tasty. read more

My family all loves Taste, but because I am a vegan, I've stayed away from it. I tried it for the first time today, and I have a few notes. I ordered the taco wrap, which is vegan. I asked for no avocado due to allergies, but when I got my food, there was avocado on it. I get that mistakes happen, so I took it back into the store and asked for it to be remade. The staff was very kind about it. I got the new wrap back, and there was no avocado in it. The food tasted fine, however, I found multiple large pieces of bacon in it. I looked back to the menu to make sure I didn't miss it in the ingredient list, but it was not. Normally I'm not upset about one little piece of something that might get in my food, but there was a lot. Long story short, I will not be returning to Taste, which is a bummer because my family frequents there. read more

This tiny little shop is a great lunch stop that is ALWAYS bustling with activity. I have never had a bad meal from here, and I've probably been there over 50 times in the 5 years I've lived here. I've tried most of the items in the store and everything, from the crab cakes, to the BBQ to the sandwiches, dips and spreads are all delicious. The only thing I wish was they synced up the rewards (baker's dozen) across all of the stores. read more

This place is good however it's way overpriced for what you get. I guess they determine the number of $-signs but it's def more than 2. For what you get, it's at least $$$. The staff is also not very helpful and rather dismissive when you ask questions about the menu. And don't get suckered into a Taste "card" bc apparently the credits expires "after 60 days or something" I was told. Staff didn't know. I had 12 sandwiches credited to that card (you get a free sandwich after the 13th), but now all is zeroed out again. Overall, it's definitely *not* worth it. read more

Had Taste Unlimited not forgotten to put bacon on my Lynnhaven I would have most certainly given them 5 stars considering how great the sandwich would have been and how delicious the others I tried were. However, they forgot bacon. The best part of any sandwich. I feel personally wronged. read more

I've been visiting TASTE since before relocating to the tidewater area. I think I can give them credit for getting me on the sandwich bandwagon as well as going beyond a basic sandwich. They have several locations in the area but I'm fond of the Shore Dr one, since its gotten warmer I think I may picnic out there one day. They have a seasonal menu that features signature sandwiches & salads,as well as a build your own option for both, and a weekly special. I'm in love with their chocolate chunk cookies and gelato offerings. I really like that they locally source ( "grocery" items as well as food served). They also offer gift baskets,gift cards, annnnnd a loyalty program!! For those that are cost conscious I'll say this, I'm on a somewhat tight budget, but I'll spend my hard earned money on this instead of regular fast food ( or subway/jimmy johns) any day!!! read more

The best sandwiches I've ever had hands down!! I was recently in VA visiting and went here more than once to get my fix! It's so delicious. All ingredients are fresh, all types of meats, and the sandwiches are unique and delicious combos! They also have a bunch of different wines, cheeses, dips, peanuts, and much more to taste while your waiting for them to make your sandwich. I wish they had these in California but I can't wait to be back in VA again so I can get TASTE!!! read more

Such a cool concept. You can buy some speciality snack foods and beers and wines and sample food like a market. Then you can order food at the counter and look around while you wait for it. Tables upstairs and picnic tables outside where you can sit and enjoy. read more

Went here for dinner. I got a sandwich and water from the soda machine and was charged $2 for the cup ("because it came from the machine and we don't know what you really drank"). Had they given me a heads up on the price or just served me tap water, I'd have been happier. The food, though, was good. I got a vegetarian sandwich with portabella mushrooms, havarti cheese and other goodies. Yummy! My friend got a salad for $5 that was huge. Her nieces (adult age) really like the roast beef on country white bread and the caesar salad. We got small servings of gelato for dessert. They had plenty of to-go items, a daily special and had I seen the grocer's case with crab cakes, I probably would have that instead. Look at the case at the opposite end of the counter from where you order, BEFORE you order. They have PBJ and I saw several families with small children. They also have select grocery items and I bought some "made local" food items to take home! Highly recommend it! Several locations, but this is the one we visited. read more

Stopped here on our way back to PA after a little weekend VB getaway. Loved the store and everything that was being sold here. Super good and quality items being sold. I got the northender and man was this sandwich super good. I substituted out the basil mayo for red pepper aioli which I personally think put this sandwich over the top. The bread was fresh. Overall, really nice spot to grab a bite to eat. read more

Love Taste! Best lunch in VB. I've had several sandwiches and none disappoint. Also love the cookies n cream gelato. Atmosphere is great and service is always perfect. My mom had a sandwich that one half had cheese, but the other didn't. So she took it to the counter and they just gave her a whole new sandwich. I also love the farm stand outside. Great food, great atmosphere, and nice specialty food options. My husband and I had lunch here recently and enjoyed it very much. The wait however was very long, so don't go when your in a hurry. We were able to order right away but waited well over 20 minutes for two sandwiches. It wasn't an issue since we weren't in a hurry, but I wish I would have been told a wait time when ordering. I had the roast beef which was awesome! There pop options are also very good and unique. read more

This place is soooo good. I see why it is a Virginia Beach institution. My sister lives in VB and introduced me to Taste and now it's my favorite place to stop by whenever I visit. My favorites on the menu are The Hilltop (turkey and cheese with Russian dressing on their AMAZING white bread) and the Blackened Tuna Salad. The staff here is always very prompt and pleasant, even though every Taste location I have ever been to is usually packed with people. And I love browsing around their grocery section to see what what they have to offer. Love to find local/VA items on their shelves. On my last visit, I was pleasantly surprised to find Richmond's own KimKim sauce! I know there are several Taste locations around Hampton Roads, but maybe we will be lucky enough to get a Taste in Richmond one day? Dare to dream! read more

I have been a Taste customer for over 20 years. Taste needs to work on consistency. I ordered 4 Inlets and 2 of them were excellent, the other 2 were disappointing, small pieces of tomatoes and mozzarella. The salads need improvement. Strawberry salad came flat, half filled. Taste is still my "go to" place for sandwiches but I go to Panera for salads. read more

Pretty good! I ordered the Bayview (I think that was the name), and loved the house sauce that comes on it. The crab seasoned chips were great as well. My daughter got to try the gelato, and loved it. And I liked all of the goodies that you could purchase off the floor. We ended up buying some bbq sauce and buttermilk buscuit mix as a thank you gift for the friends we are staying with while passing through Virginia. read more

I stopped by during their pop up at Farmhouse Brewery and, once again, they did not disappoint. One thing you need to know: their burritos are massive. We're talking "the size of your head" big, so come hungry or be ready for some epic leftovers. The menu is small and focused (usually around four burrito choices), but every single one is packed with quality ingredients and flavor. The Coop spends most days serving on base, but keep an eye out for their local pop-ups. They're always worth chasing down. This time around, I ordered the Pepper Jack Chicken Burrito which was grilled chicken breast, maple bacon, melty pepper jack cheese, and their signature Coop Sauce, all bundled up in a warm tortilla. Every bite was the perfect balance of hearty, savory, spicy, and just a hint sweet from the bacon. Their Coop sauce is one of a kind. Tangy, and delicious. I'm sure adding an egg would take it to the next level (that's an option on all burritos). My friends had the Breakfast Burrito! This one comes with fluffy scrambled eggs, sharp cheddar cheese, juicy sausage, more of that craveable maple bacon, herby potatoes, and (of course) the signature Coop Sauce. They raved about every bite. I appreciate that The Coop keeps things simple with their streamlined menu and focus on top-notch burritos. Whenever I see them around town, I make it a point to stop ... even if there's a line, it moves fast and is absolutely worth the wait. Whether you're looking for a new lunch favorite or just crave seriously great street food, The Coop is a true gem on the Virginia Beach food truck scene. The patio is really cute when the weather is warm. I liked the menu and could see this being a cute place to come with friends for lunch or bring out of town folks if they want to try a new brunch or lunch spot.

Everything we've purchased has been fresh, and the staff has always been friendly and helpful. Both bakeries have their strengths, and we enjoy visiting each of them for different reasons. The quality of the bread keeps us coming back, and it's one of those places that's hard to leave without buying more than you planned.

Can I tell you my new love in Virginia Beach. I just discovered this heavenly place and will start to beg these folks to move to Richmond (if they will even consider a satellite location). For someone with food allergies, I cannot tell you how happy I was to be told about this little slice of heaven. With so many food options on their menu alone, I was happy to find someone I could go and eat without having to worry about finding something on the menu that I COULD EAT. With a variety of sammies, soups and other snacks to munch on, this place is a great stop for anyone looking for healthier alternatives as well. What surprised me the most about this place was not the stellar services (literally everyone was happy and willing to help- these folks really love their jobs), and it wasn't the customer card (that i totally signed up for), it was the selection! This store is like a mini grocery store - with all the varities of local fare, you are bound to find something wonderful. Like to give food as gifts, then this is your stop too! With so many items to choose from, you can even make a basket to go for a newly engaged couple (or a picnic for two - like i did). With the vast selection of wine and other liquid refreshments, you can quench your thirsty with anything appeasing to the palete. If that didn't sell you, then maybe their patio will! After you buy one of their decant sandwhiches (i personally enjoyed the virginian), step outside under an umbrella or awning to enjoy your treats.
