I love the different options that this establishment has. They have drinks that are unique such as a Thai tea matcha. However, I went with the passionfruit tea. It was overly sweet, even with choosing 1/2 sweetness. So if you like less sweet tea, I'd recommend doing 1/4 sweetness. The staff was super friendly, and gave the recommendation to try the tea.

With Katy Asian Town booming with new restaurants and boba shops, it can feel overwhelming to find the tastiest spots. Tastea opened earlier this year, and I'm so glad I finally discovered it, it's already made its way onto my favorites list. I've only visited a couple of times so far, but both experiences have been really enjoyable. I've tried: Coconut Matcha Smoothie with boba (5/5)- The boba itself was fresh and chewy, and the coconut blended beautifully with the matcha. On my first visit, one of the employees gave me a heads-up that their drinks typically come on the sweeter side and recommended I adjust the sugar level. Great advice because it ended up being perfectly balanced. Strawberry Matcha with coconut milk (4/5) - This one was delicious too! The coconut milk really rounded out the earthiness of the matcha, and while I don't expect these drinks to give me a big caffeine boost, they were both tasty and refreshing treats. On the savory side, I also tried the chili cheese fries. The "chili cheese" is actually a seasoning, but it surprisingly tasted *just* like classic chili cheese. And the ranch? Pretty solid, too. All fried comes a seasoning and dip of your choice. The space is clean, welcoming, and has plenty of seating. I noticed they have Wi-Fi, so I could definitely see myself coming back to do a bit of work here while sipping on a drink. Parking is also a breeze as the shop is located in a strip center, and I've never had trouble finding a spot here (unlike some other areas of Katy Asian Town where parking can get tricky). Finally, the staff deserves a shoutout, they were so kind and helpful, greeting me when I walked in and again when I left. Their recommendations really made my visits better, and it's clear they care about making sure customers enjoy their drinks (they have a satisfaction notice so if your drink isn't as expected, speak up). Overall, I had a great experience, and I'm already looking forward to coming back to try more drinks and snacks. Taste Tea is a fun, tasty addition to Katy Asian Town, and definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.

Finally a Tastea in Katy!!! Coming from CA, I always loved the fresh ingredients and the Stevia no calorie sweetener alternative especially for boba addicts! The location is perfect and a good size with seating. Service is great so far! Get the oolong milk tea or any of the freeze options.

The teas are really good! We came on the grand opening and they were pumping out the orders so quickly. I'm excited to go back again soon to get our boba fix. The large is a TEXAS SIZED LARGE. Literally the biggest cup of boba I've ever seen in my life. The small is a good regular sized cup.

Very good brown sugar milk tea (9/10) Avocado avalanche (7.5/10): at 50% sugar, there was still too much condensed milk for my taste and not enough avocado.

This is take out and for popcorn chicken only. It was really bad. I tasted really strange . Like the chicken was bad or something .

I recently saw Tastea pop up on social media and thought it looked good. Shortly after, a friend told me about this new spot in Katy Asia Town and bragged it up. That was my confirmation to check it out for myself. Tastea is a popular franchise out of California and it has made it's way to Texas. Located in a shopping strip, there was plenty of parking. I imagine at peak times, you may have a harder time parking close as the strip is full of other. I don't find myself in Katy Asia Town often, but when I'm in the area, I'm stopping for food and boba. This place got both. I went during their grand opening weekend so it was a tad bit busy, but the staff handled it with ease. By the time I ordered, I was able to find a spot to sit without any issues. Customer service was great. The owners and management were making sure everything was good as well. I had lunch plans later so I wanted a drink and a light snack to hold me over. Their menu has lots of options from teas, milk teas, coffee, smoothies, slushies and some food items. As per usual, I was indecisive so I let the young man working the counter pick my whole order. He said the Matcha Thai Milk Tea was the move along with the popular Karate Chicken. I added boba to my drink and requested my chicken spicy. The chicken goes up to a level 5, I went with 4. I've never had a Thai tea with matcha. It came out looking really pretty. Once I snapped my pics, I mixed the layers and found the drink to be very delicious. The flavor went well together. The boba was the perfect consistency and a good addition in my opinion. The chicken looked good and was a generous portion. The spice level didn't hit me right away, but it was one of those sneaky heat levels that lets you know you're eating something spicy without hurting you. It was a solid choice as well. Everyone knows Katy Asia Town has no shortage of boba spots, but I think Tastea reigns supreme at the moment. I will definitely be back when in the area.

Wonderful place to get milk, tea, small bites, smoothies in the Katy area. Super friendly service and plenty of seating. Highly recommend it would come back.

Everyone keeps raving about this spot since it made its way down from California so I visited Tastea Boba for the first time. Safe to say, I will be coming back! The staff was helpful and welcoming, which made a great first impression. I tried the Peach Me Sweetea and it is probably going to be my go-to drink-- super refreshing.

I really liked the variety of flavors this place has to offer. There's something for everyone, which was great for my party as we all got to try something different and share. We all enjoyed our drinks very much, and I love the addition of real fruits! The service was quick, and the place itself is super cute and spacious. A couple of small drawbacks: the boba itself was just okay and mushy, not the best texture I've had. I ordered the lite sweet option and my drink was still a bit too sweet for my taste. Overall, still a great spot and I would come again!

Outstanding Bubble Tea. My favorite is the Great White Green Tea with honey boba. My husband loves their Mango All the Way slushy. Restaurant is super clean & staff are always friendly. Plenty of parking too. Highly recommend.

Matcha Thai Iced Tea had a unique flavor, rich and creamy with a nice balance of matcha and Thai tea. Could use a bit more matcha, but overall it was smooth and refreshing.

Tastea, a boba concept originating from Orange County, California, has finally made its way into Katy Asian town! Arguably, the best boba I've ever had and so glad it's close by. My favorite is their Peach Me Sweetea! I love the peach and strawberry pieces in it. Don't forget to order their famous karate chicken with basil and weak sauce!

The thai tea jelly was amazing and strong!! The milk tea itself was as expected. The strong point was the jelly/jellos. I really like the furniture since it was all velvet and almost gave that sophisticated feel but it was kind of broken up by all the claw machines and the claw service corner. The ambiance is a weird mismatch. The items in the claw machines looks like knock offs and I had NO desire to even try. Overall, skip the claw machines, try the jelly/jello samples, enjoy the vibes on one side the room and maybe ignore the other side. Free parking out front.

I walked out in shock because, what? Out of all the boba spots that I have been to, never has anyone smelled my drink. In fact, I used to work at a boba shop and never has it occurred to me to smell a drink and not remake it for a customer. Like, I don't know what methods you use to confirm ingredients but you couldn't even take the drink to the back to smell it? You did it in front of my face? I don't ever ask for drinks to be remade unless it tastes nothing like I ordered, I just go about and let it be but this genuinely appalled me. I like what I like, just as others like what they like. So I wasn't sure what I was going to get stuck with. So on the way to the outskirts of Katy, we stopped in at Ding Tea. Let me tell you how busy this area was on a beautiful Sunday before lunar New Year. There wasn't a single parking space to be had in three different lots. There was traffic everywhere in people. Do not drive well when they're looking for a parking spot. People just stopped in the middle of the parking lot and didn't move. Waiting for someone to walk out of a building. Super annoying. Luckily, Ding Tea is located behind lot of the larger restaurants and the golf course and other super busy areas. There was a parking spot waiting for me out front and it was easy to get in and out. We ended up getting a tea to share, and two to go with us to the party. We also got an order of the popcorn chicken. I wish they would have it a little bit spicier on its own, without having to dip it into things. A little seasoning goes a long way! The staff were also super nowledgeable about the menu, courteous, and efficient. Will definitely be back, but not on lunar new year. So busy!!

The lack of an English sign didn't help, as I figured Yan Kei was all about BBQ (#1) and Yan Tea was something like a cafe, when in fact it was the same place the entire time. Still, the rarity that is Cantonese siu mei in Houston, let alone Katy, makes this place still worth a look. It's always great to see the daily selection of meats hanging near the window to entice folks. They have roast duck, soya chicken, BBQ pork, and a very crispy siu yuk pork belly. I think their 3 meat combo over rice (三寶飯) is the way to go. It's the most ideal lunch option and could also make for a fairly hearty early dinner meal. I wouldn't go too late though, since most of their meats are at their optimal freshness during the early morning / afternoon. It's not that spacious, but it's enough for small'ish groups to dine. Takeout is pretty common here, often with some kind of bubble tea. I'm not particularly fond of the latter, but then again I've never seen a specialty Cantonese BBQ place and bubble tea do either particularly well. Another area that they're solid in is the congee selection. The pork and preserved egg are enjoyable despite the pricetag ($9) and the fish slice congee also gets a thumbs up. Prices are adequate for Katy and the service is good overall. It's worth noting the parking can be a challenge during peak hours and especially on weekends, since this is one of the busiest corners in all of Katy Asian Town. _____________ (#1) Not to be confused with Chung Wang BBQ on the same block.
