Awesome food and ice cream! We had a foot long chili dog and ice cream. It was amazing!

Stopped into Tastee Freez (or The Freeze) on a Friday for an early lunch. I was the only one walking inside to order around 11:00am. The interior was clean and bright. There is outdoor seating as well as a walk-up exterior order window. I stood and reviewed the menu and waited and waited and waited. The folks behind the counter looked and saw me a few times without ever acknowledging me. Eventually one woman told another woman that she had to go to the front. And let me tell you, she the woman who came to the counter was NOT happy about having to take my order. I've felt warmer corpses. To be fair, a regular came in after me and the cashier lit up like a firework so maybe it's just me. I ordered a chili dog and a BLT. Both were just ok. The chili on the hot dog was deep brown in color and had good flavor. The BLT was basic. Not sure I'll see myself returning to this Tastee Freez in the future. read more

This place is a blast from the past. Good food for real cheap. I will say the hotdog is significantly batter than the burger at this place. I'm not sure if the burger can stack up next to a McDouble. Ice cream? Delicious. It's clear this place is kind of the local McDonalds of the area. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. read more

Came here with n y family today since we heard so many good things but left dissapointed. First of all we get our food, and then cashier says it wasn't our order so I just take back the food... I was really confused. I swear I heard the caisher say that was our food. So confusing to the start. Then, we get our food and wow. I was thinking the burgers were going to be good, and big.. I was starving at this point. Well very dissapointed. Paid about 10$ for what looked like a cheese burger from McDonald's.. and frozen fries... it was just expensive for what it is. And no flavor.. all I tasted was mustard and bun. Sadly I won't be back. I don't know how they are still running with poor quality food. Also very crowded inside in case you want to take your big family to eat inside. read more

Great for what you would expect. Food good- blt was tasty, had good amount of bacon, and nice red tomatoes. Fries krispy and good seasoning. Burger meat had good taste- better than a McDs or other mass formula restaurant. Ladies serving were nice and attentive. Had seating inside and out. Place was clean (BA was clean too.) read more

Fun retro spot-with old fast treats for all!! The chili dog is great! As are the burgers and the fried chicken! I would say the home made fried chicken is the stand out here!! Save room for the ice cream treats! The twist cone is my personal favorite! The milkshakes as well!! And also! Enjoy the old-school ambience! Iconic. A great fast food restaurant! The burgers were simple and delicious, especially the bun!! They were so soft. The fries were cooked well and the seasoned ones have a good old bay flavor. My mom said they should have more seasoning but my dad liked the ratio. My sister loved her corndog and said the hotdog inside was bigger than her expected. The BLT was another great meal. The bacon was crispy and the tomato had good flavor and meat. The soft serve was creamy and delicious too. Overall good fast food option, recommend for a quick stop. read more

I quit ordering banana splits because they often run out of bananas. The big cones ARE available, but you have to specify that's what you want. Still on everything its real expensive. You could go someplace for a sit down dinner for almost the same cost. Most of the people who work there are nice, but one is a bee- otch. read more

The concept of a retro diner is cute. However the customer service was HORRENDOUS! It also smelled terrible inside. So bad that our hair smelled of bad grease after leaving. Staff was extremely rude. Don't waste your time! Not only does this provide poor service, the product is below mediocre. I ordered what was supposed to be a "large vanilla cone" (which is pictured) and what I got was a small, sloppily made ice cream cone. My wife ordered a small twist and hers looked the exact same size as mine, also sloppily made. When I asked if mine was a large they replied "yes we weigh them" which is absolutely ridiculous. The owner was extremely rude and a prick. We stop there passing through to go home and we had a hair in our Big Tburger. We were already heading down the road so we called and spoke to the manager who said that we could come back the next time we were passing through for a replacement. When we stop there the following week the owner was there and gave us the third degree he was a real prick! We have been eating there for years but will never patronize this place again. They forgot our order... all workers disappeared for like 5 minutes after we saw them playing around in the back. About 20 minutes later we reminded them about our order, only then did she proceed to make our banana split. I get it, we were the only customers, but we had places to go too. Have zero idea about the quality of the product. After waiting in line for a bit, our family walked away. It appears that the owner/manager of Tastee has not heard of the Covid Pandemic. Absolutely no safety protocol on place minutes there are no guests allowed inside. The windows allow the outside that there was one staff member wearing her mask the entire time. All others had them under their chin or not on at all. Making and handling food. I feel bad for businesses that are trying to do the right thing while trying to survive. From 1991 to 2015, my only exposure to Tastee Freez was the song She's in Love with the Boy by Trisha Yearwood. I am happy to say that my exposure--and waistline--have now expanded. We were looking for a quick bite to hold us over until a big meal, and this place fit the bill perfectly. The limited seating and small staff shouldn't turn you off from good Burgers and great Fried Chicken. You can walk up to an exterior window to order or go inside to the counter and a few tables. This seems like a popular place on weekends especially meaning that the wait times can drag if the kitchen gets slammed by too many orders. We were looking for a quick ice cream treat before heading out a town and were happy to find this Tastee Freeze. It was relatively fast and they made our shakes right away. I have been to this tastee freez before, and I am usually satisfied with my experience, but today's visit was different. We spent an inordinate amount of time waiting for our food, which they prepared incorrectly, giving us a regular cheeseburger instead of a double bacon cheeseburger. Since it took such a long time to prepare the food, by the time I was given my Reese's freezee, it was almost entirely melted and was the consistency of milk. Friendly folks, serving simple fare, speedily, at good prices. You won't spend a lot of money, and the menu is extensive, considering this place's diminutive size. It is basically picnic food, but it's a Tastee Freez, right? The interior is clean, the bathrooms are tidy, lots of free parking, and it's three feet from Route 29. The ladies (and one or two gentlemen employees) yuck it up with each other and the customers, and the clientele is a back country sort, but they're all polite and helpful. My one complaint: there are only two real tables to sit at, and they're always filled. Everything else involves sitting at a counter. They've been in business a long time, and appear to be pretty busy most of the time. Please expand, add a wing or annex, and add some tables. The counters are perhaps fun for kids; older folks, not so much. Also, no one really busses the tables, the customers "turn in" their dishes. Maybe designate a particular spot somewhere so that process occurs more smoothly? You can keep the five stars, nonetheless. read more
