We have not been here in a year. My daughter and I dropped in and ordered the Jack shop burgers. She ordered black bean and I ordered meat. You walk in and order up front and then find a seat. The staff will bring your order to your table. The inside has plenty of seating and jazz music is playing over the speakers. The Jack shop burgers are huge and tasty. The fries are excellent. A great meal. Definitely worth the drive to come for.

I stopped by here for brunch before going to Shenandoah national park. If you're looking for a good & quick food stop, check this place out. They only have one type of coffee but it's pretty good for just your regular black coffee brew. Truffle Benedict: got the eggs medium done and it was perfectly oozing as you cut it. Potatoes were seasoned well and I liked how it came with extra mushrooms as veggies. I'd come back to try other menu items!

This place is lively, has good parking, good food, and a very nice staff. The only downside is you're gonna wait a little bit for your food. So just be prepared. There's also an antique mall in the same building so fun to stop in after your meal.

Stopped at Jack's Shop Kitchen on Friday night with the intention of ordering a medium rare burger but ordered one of their specials for dinner. Started with goat cheese fritters followed by the entree. The cassoulet featured pork shoulder, sausage, navy beans and sliced carrots with a side plate of green beans and corn. I ate approximately 75 to 85% of the cassoulet to save room for dessert, warm apple cobbler and vanilla ice cream. Enjoyed every bite and ate the leftovers for lunch the next day. The restaurant has abundant seating including seven booths, twelve tables for four and two large tables for bigger parties. Plenty of parking. The restaurant closes between 3 and 5 pm. Would definitely return!

Oh my goodness!! This place was so amazing, the food was spectacular and delicious, and the service was super great . The whole place was so fancy and had their own like skincare line? It was pretty cool. The prices were honestly pretty affordable compared to most restaurants I go to. 10/10 will come again.

Food portions were big, Nashville hot chicken was on point! Inside seating was open and very friendly, Has a very laid back vibe! Service was friendly & quick for a Friday night. Well worth a 45 minute drive!

Delicious food, hearty portions, great staff! I had the breakfast croissant with fried potatoes. The croissant had a delicious basil aioli & potatoes were fried perfectly. My hubby had the farmer's breakfast. We couldn't decide between apple butter or strawberry jam, so the sweet gal at the order counter gave us both. He loved the homemade apple butter & strawberry jam. Fruit was ripe & delicious.

Brunch with the family - excellent service, quality food and farmhouse ambience. Some tables outside not a lot. Inside is quite comfortable and spacious for larger groups.

Pro: clean rustic interior, friendly staff, moderate size parking. Con: long wait time for food. Been driving pass this place a few time every time I come and go from Charlottesville. After seeing the mostly good reviews we decided that today is the day we come in and give this restaurant a try. We came here during the dinner time and parking lot is moderate size. Upon entering we were seated promptly and our waiter was friendly. For appetizer, we had the corn chowder and the goat cheese fritter. The corn chowder portion size was large and great to share with two people. Soup tastes nice while the cheese fritter was also good. For the entree I had the Nashville hot chicken with a side of truffle fries. The chicken was ok but had no spice to it while the fries tasted a little lack luster. The main issue for me was the wait time. Idk if they were short staff but it took about 20 minutes for the main entree to come out and then when we were finish we ask for the check and took about 15 minute for them to get. All in all, it was an ok experience here but i wouldn't go out of my way to come back here in the future.

Super cute old-timey restaurant between highway 29 and 33 W. They have a plethora of seasonal specials to choose from, in addition to their menu. I ordered the salmon Benedict and apple donut holes off of the seasonal menu. They chose interesting flavor combinations; I.e. the apple donuts came with a sour cream sauce. Not the absolute best food I've had, but really fun experience, plus they're farm to table! The servers were happy to answer our questions. There was plenty of indoor seating and even some outdoor seating. Attached to the restaurant is an antique shop which is huge. They sell items ranging from copper pots to Coca Cola memorabilia to your favorite childhood books. Would recommend someone to stop by this unique spot.

We were driving back from Shenandoah when we came across Jack's. We were excited as they were self-described farm, fresh, local. Although the restaurant is cutely decorated and the ordering/seating process was well organized, the food just missed the mark. My husband got the burger and after the first bite, it fell apart and he had to eat it with a fork. Although he liked it, the English muffin wasn't stiff enough to hold all the toppings. I had the chicken salad, which was not mayo-y enough (of course that's just my personal preference!) and had a jam on the sandwich that just didn't really work. The goat cheese fritters were okay - the onion chutney was amazing! - but the fritters just didn't have enough breading for us. I'd be interested to try more of their menu to see if what we got just wasn't it.

This is a very nice restaurant and antique mall. It's in a tall white building that they have literally attached older antiques that are kind of broken into the outside of. Which sounds wrong, but actually is very cute. They've taken fencing from other old properties and used it to decorate the outside perimeter of their parking lot. Inside you go to a front desk, which is wide and spacious and you order your food and then you go pick a chair or a table or a booth and you wait and they will come to your number and bring your food. They're very friendly. You can get refills on all your drinks Like soda and tea. My brother and I went for brunch. We both ordered from the breakfast menu. He got the salmon eggs Benedict, which was a daily special, I got the corn fritters with goat cheese and the sweet potato biscuits with chorizo, gravy, and sunny side of eggs. Both came with sides of cheesy grits. It was super tasty, we devoured all of it.. My brother's biggest complaint was that there weren't enough mushrooms because they were delicious and he wanted more. I was blown away by the corn, fritters with the goat cheese, they were so light and had herb goat cheese in the inside, and then they were served with this relish that was like pickled onions and I think jalapeños and super tasty just perfect balance. My entrée which was the sweet potato biscuits with chorizo, gravy, and Sunny side up eggs. Was amazing. The biscuit wasn't light and fluffy because of the sweet potatoes, it was more like a cornbread consistency but very very good. Had a little bit of green onion in it and thank a little jalapeño. Was there something spicy in there and the gravy there wasn't too much of it, which was perfect cause I hate it when it's drowning, and you can't find your biscuit, but just enough that you could add some to the cheesy grits, which was such a good combination and also enough that the bunny eggs in the sunny side of eggs you could soak it up with the biscuits and Yum. We both got iced tea which we miss because we're from the south and it's everywhere but it's not as common up here in Virginia. And Texas you can pull up to any gas station and fill up with a huge ice tea. Here they just don't have that. But this place had really great ice tea and it was all you could drink... I had like two glasses we wanted to go cups, but the line was too long. We didn't wanna ask. Not surprised that the line was too long because one church just let out into it's incredible. I would like to come back and try some more things on the menu.
