I can already tell you the only people who frequent here are the locals who are on their way to work, or because they live a stones throw near. Other than that save your money drive to another donut shop where they care. These workers taking your orders here are upset that they have to work they are upset that they get busy, its like you're bothering them with your money and order. My friends recommended this place to me for their breakfast burritos and donuts. I was highly disappointed with both. In Pasadena you have lucky boy and Tops as well as a plethora of other options. I was hoping they could be that good. They where not. I use a standard glaze donut has my measuring stick. While these donuts where incredibly soft, the flavor was off for some reason. I'm in Pasadena every day, and the pickings can be slim "north of the freeway," as we say, but you're in for a smooth landing at Tastees - located in a rather uninteresting strip mall anchored by a spotless Vons (Wells Fargo inside, it's nice). When I'm in the mood to go overboard, it's generally in the cheeseburger and french fries department, and Tastees does not disappoint. You must get your food to go (to minimize panhandling), and the piping hot thin fries will barely make it where-ever you're going; best to put them in the back seat (or trunk) out of reach. The burger bun is toasted just right, for a bit of a crunch. Their signature donuts do not disappoint. Very cake-y, and there is no cheaper dozen in town. The counter ladies could not be nicer. I always see a line out the door in the mornings! Had to check this place out. I'm glad I did because I was craving a ham and cheese croissant. They definitely looked different than the ones I'm used to, but the first bite into it was delightful. Fluffy and airy inside, I almost felt I punctured the croissant as I took a bite into it. This is a busy doughnut shop on weekends and apparently on weekday mornings. My buddy swears by their breakfast burritos. Cooked to order literally, (they don't precook the bacon and hash browns like other places), the burritos are fresh and not greasy. The salsa is spicy so unless you can handle the heat, order it on the side and use sparingly. The burrito is just the right size without getting overstuffed with cholesterol. After reading so many good reviews about their breakfast burritos I finally tried one. I had the bacon hashbrown and egg, salsa on the side. The tortilla was really good, but the hashbrowns were undercooked and under-seasoned. The eggs also needed salt. A really good salsa (with salt) would have helped, but the red sauce was spicy but not much else going on with it. Overall, a very mediocre breakfast burrito. Quite disappointing. Okay I DID NOT go in here for donuts! There was a huge line at Subway's so I thought let's just grab some food from this place instead. The lil guy got a ham sandwich and since they had tacos on the menu, I opted for 2 tacos. It only comes with carne asada so it eliminated any indecisions I might've had. Food was slow. I mean, it took about 10-15 mins for the food to be ready. There were not many people in there either. However, when the stuff arrived it was rather tasty! I was out taking photos of historical homes in Pasadena today and around lunch time I started to look for a place to get some food. I came across a place called Tastees Donut & Burger. Two of my favorite things! I looked in the window and the saw large showcase of wonderful looking doughnuts. These guys were so big they almost cover my hand. The bugers were only $2.69! Did I go back in time? These are 1/4 lbs burgers and cheaper than any fast food joint. So I ordered up one of each. I was not disappointed, my burger was very good. Nice toasted bun witch just the right amount of crisp edges. The doughnut was excellent. I judge doughnut shops on the glaze to dough ratio. To much glaze and it's just eating sugar. And look how fluffy the dough is. Heaven , just heaven. They had a great selection and great prices. 12/$9 or .95 each. read more

They stop serving breakfast at 12. I've had the breakfast burrito from here and a bacon cheeseburger. I definitely like how the burrito isn't too massive because sometimes you just don't want a breakfast burrito that's the size of your forearm (and sometimes you do). Other than that I don't see anything special about it. It's just a standard breakfast burrito. The cheeseburger is about as typical of a burger that you would expect from a place like this. Obviously they use a frozen patty so nothing special there. No "special sauce" or anything like that. I guess at the end of the day this place works because it's super cheap. If you want a relatively cheap burger that does not use frozen patties drive a little further to Super Burger. Just be warned that there is no inside seating. read more

Nothing fancy about this spot, but the food never fails to be perfectly cooked and amazingly affordable. The donuts are unbelievable. Magical clouds with simple toppings. The pancakes are slightly sweet and always perfectly cooked. Honestly, we get breakfast every Saturday here (sometimes more) and I get perfectly cooked bacon, LITERALLY, every time. Thus far in my search for epic breakfast burritos, Tastees is likely the oddest place I've found myself. This "Donut and Burger" place popped up in a few Yelp searches and the reviews seemed favorable, but I disagree. Compared to many others, this is a small burrito. I got mine with bacon, and it also came with hashbrowns, cheese, hot sauce, and egg. The hot sauce was good, but the burrito was just boring. The hashbrowns and egg were both in need of seasoning and I wish there was more egg (or that it was distributed better). The place was busy but I received my food in a decent amount of time. For a little more than 5 bucks, I got an "eh" burrito and an amazingly fresh and delicious donut. Definitely come for donuts, but skip the breakfast. This is one time that Yelpers got it right! I've been a lifelong donut lover and my go-to in the SGValley has been Uncle Joe's in SG for 4 decades but I'll have to admit that Tastee is right up there with them. Best breakfast burrito ever! It's great every single time I have had it. My favorite part about the BB is that they layer the food. I prefer that over mixing it all up like a big mess. It's a layer of eggs, cheese, bacon (or other type of meat) and hashbrowns. Get the hot sauce, inside our on the side. It's so good. It's simple good food. I have tried their regular menu items and it wasn't very exciting. The donuts are the best donuts. They taste like how I remember donuts used to taste like when I was a child.
