I've been hesitant to try this as I'm not a fan of Cajun seasoning but they also have Old Bay seasoning they can use if you ask for it! That was a game changer for me. I like the individual ordering on menu paper with a pencil (you can write in Old Bay) and you select the level of spicy. I really appreciated the attentive waiter that reviewed our choices to make sure we got what we expected. I got the shrimp boil with Old Bay medium spice and it was just right for my taste! Just went to sit down for lunch with my daughter, I brought her food because she doesn't like seafood. I was seated, and immediately after I was told they wouldn't serve me because I brought in outside food and made me leave. I was prepared to order her a drink at minimum, along with my food which typically tabs 40+ dollars by myself plus tip. They didn't care, only thing they cared about was embarrassing themselves as a business. I will never return after the way I was just treated. We've driven past this place several times but finally stopped to try it out. When we walked in we were really surprised with how nice it looked inside. You wouldn't expect it by looking from the outside. We decided to try separate things so my husband got the soft shell basket and I made my own combo of baby clams and shrimp with heads off. My husbands basket came with two soft shell crabs and sweet potato fries for $9.00. He said the sweet potatoes we're well seasoned and his crabs tasted very fresh. I got the steamer bag with clams and shrimp and it was fantastic. For my seasoning I got the Tasty House Blend which was a mixture of all the options and it was so good. It was buttery and garlicky and had a nice little kick. I got the medium heat and it was perfect. The steamer bag came with one steam potato and one ear of corn in addition to abundant supply of shrimp. The clams were nice and tender but the shrimp were a little overcooked. However, the sauce was so good it more than made up for it. $17.00. We also got an order of hush puppies for $5. One order came with 10 hush puppies and they were good but could have used a little splash of sugar 2 round out the flavor. Overall a great lunch for around $30. read more

Hands down, the best cajun boil I've ever had. I don't even know how much I paid, I don't care - I went back three times while I was in Dover. Service was quick, even though they were slammed. I ordered the head-on shrimp (highly recommended if you have never tried it), snow crab legs, and clams with medium Cajun spice. Everything was moist, juicy, and the taste was fantastic. I was told the establishment always had cars lined up to get in two weeks before the pandemic quarantine. Now, they have a drive-up window that was busy once we arrived. We ordered the King Crab legs (two huge legs) with Cajun Fried Rice. The crab legs were delicious and the fried rice (with sausage) was quite spicy. I will warn you that crab is at market price (my guess) as I paid $36 for the two. In any case, we are one and done. I ordered a chicken tenders meal for Mom that came with fries. She enjoyed a tender and the fries and saved the rest for later. This menu item was $8 and you get four huge tenders. Service was great and the food was well proportioned. read more

Friendly waitstaff. Fantastic flavors. Too much plastic. We got in the night before the grand opening. Portions could be much larger (see fried catfish) and the seafood bags only have one potato and one piece of corn. The flavorings are so bold and delicious (sodium bomb), having those extra two or three potatoes to dip in would have been the difference between leaving full and leaving hungry. The catfish/ fried shrimp portions are good for a kid or small adult. Larger adults will be left wanting. You would think management would come around asking how everything was and what could be improved...sadly for both them and us, they did not. You need to not mind that your food is cooked in a plastic bag (chemicals cook into the food), then double bagged in a second plastic bag (ironic that a seafood restaurant that relies on healthy oceans would generate so much plastic use). read more

I was in Dover Delaware for business and I decided to stop by Tasty Crab. We was greeted by a very friendly lady by the name Jennifer. The place was definitely different in the inside than I imagine. Very modern and clean. I ordered a seafood bag with the combined sauces. Unfortunately, the food was a little to watery and salty for my liking. I will say the waitress Jennifer was very accommodating to try to help but it wasn't much she could do to change the outcome of my meal. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing I don't know but I will pass on ordering a seafood bag from this location. My wife is a big seafood fan, so we decided to try this place out. Ambiance: Well lit, not too bright. Clean looking. Staff was friendly, but at times were very slow, especially when we waiting for check. We has 2 orders of wings, the Cajun and the buffalo. We did not try the lemon pepper ones. The buffalo wings were good, the Cajun were dry and severely lacking in flavor. For entree, I had soft shell crab, and she has a combo of king crab and shrimp (no heads). It was my first time having crab, so I guess it was okay. She thought hers was good, with a nice sauce . The corn comes soaking in a spicy sauce. Prices are medium-high. We will come again at some point, but do not recommend the Cajun wings at all. Also hope service is a bit better. read more

Since my first review, we have probably been here 10 times. It's always reliable, food is always excellent, service is always great. It's become our go-to spot when we want great food and don't want to take a chance on a new place. We have tried another similar seafood restaurant right up the road from here and it was trash. Finger lickin' gooooood!!!! If you've ever been to boiling crab in california, it is the same concept. I had 1/2 lb snow crab legs and 1/2 lb shrimp with heads on with one potato and one corn covered in the extra spicy tasty special sauce. I would say the extra spicy is more on a regular spicy level. I literally devoured this whole meal in one sitting. My boyfriend was so surprised because I never finish my food when I eat out.
