Boondocks is something else! It's located in the boondocks. I had the steamed crabs , which I hadn't had for years. They are messy, hard to eat and delicious. I made quite a spectacle smashing them in pieces! My wife had a rather weird but good crab cake nestled in a crab bisque with a soft pretzel on top. Strange but it worked. Service is friendly and attentive. It's an experience! Went for a weekend lunch and the place was quite busy.

Ok so this was a day I decided to go here. I haven't been here since I was 12 years old and I wouldn't live here with my family

Today is March 21 and we are local with this place. We saw this order but it didn't have no price on it. That was disappointing. We had ordered two of these and we ordered my kids food got drinks. My mom got a swamp water. It was too iced down. It wasn't the same like usual it really sucked. It did not taste like alcohol. It tasted like straight water and ice down. There was no buzz nothing that was $15 which that had a price on it but this I'm showing you right here is crazy so they bring us the food and didn't tell us anything so we respected it to be a little bit cheap. OK I can manage 150 OK so we asked how much is this? She says $100 each. I felt like if we didn't ask felt like you were set up for failure so my bill came up to $250. Make sure you guys don't fall for this trick. It's really messed up how everything else has a price but this is $100 a plate people I don't put me wrong. The crabs were really good very good. I get that at 20. The corn was very great. I felt like the shirt could've needed a little bit more seasoning, but it was good. I cannot complain about anything else, but these prices are ridiculous after we got done paying the bill. I got my receipt told her I was gonna tip her some money well my funds was getting tight so I gave her a four dollar tip. She gives me that ugly look now I get it. It's four dollars at least be grateful that you got something from me cause $250 is a lot of money, your mother or two kids paying for bills and taking care of other things it's hard for other people and I really was happy that I had extra money on my card but still please do not fall for this. Make sure you ask before you order this meal because their customer service so they could've told us and wanted us before we ordered it but the good thing is we get to take the crabs home and our drinks and the cat tail so please watch out

    Gotta get the swamp water

Been coming to boondocks for a long time. Since new owner ambiance is much better and better variety of food. Place looks great.

I am a huge fan of this place. The soup is incredibly tasty and the crabs are simply amazing. The freshness and seasoning of the crabs were exceptional. I would have given it 5 stars however, I was slightly disappointed when my husband ordered the fried seafood platter and discovered that the seafood was frozen from a box and not fresh. I recommend adding at least fresh fried shrimp to the menu to enhance the overall dining experience. Despite this small setback, I still highly recommend this seafood restaurant.

Stopped by Boondocks on the way back home. It is off the beaten path-Fo Sho! It is a cute roadside establishment that looks like it is straight outta 1980! We decided to get down to business-Ordered Crabs w/Old Bay & it was recommended by our server to get the appetizer 'Hodge Podge'! The Hodge Podge was deep fried 'everything'-Pickles; Vegetables; Hush Puppies (maybe)? Lol Pros: The crabs were a large size-cooked well Cons: Beer selection is very limited Alright place-wouldn't make a special trip to visit

One of the first restaurants you come to when coming in from I-95 is Water Street seafood, a restaurant that provides a great relaxed vibe, consistent with the area. They have an outdoor patio which was far too hot on the 4th of July weekend, so we sat right inside the dining room. There was a great energy in the place coming from both staff and other patrons. There's a decent view from the restaurant itself, but certainly head to the lighthouse area just about a mile away for the best views and pictures - it's definitely a cute town to explore. We had the tuna nachos, steamed shrimp, and a couple of soft drinks. Many of the other tables were ordering the crabs. Pricing averaged about $30 per person, including drinks, tip and tax. All of the servers carried similar high energy and efficiency, Samantha served our table and she was great. If you're even close to Havre de Grace, you owe it to yourself to stop by Water Street Seafood.

Loved the atmosphere. Expect to put down at least $30 which was worth it. Fried Chesapeake Oysters with the dent corn hominy was excellent. I wish I did not have to share this appetizer. The Block Island Scallops over the Narragansett succotash was perfect. The scallops nicely seared, and the succotash was excellent and did well with the scallops. The Eastern Shore Crab Cake was large and perfect. Nicely prepared. The zucchini that came with it was also done well and not overly seasoned. The potato salad was a surprise. Not expecting much, it was one of my favorites, and I wish I could have a plate full of it to chow down. Make it a day and visit this establishment and enjoy the day. When I am Baltimore again, I'll consider stopping by for a nice meal.

I've been giving out a lot of 5 stars recently, but this is a place that really deserves it. It's a must visit. It'd been many moons since I had escargot, so I got it. Despite one cooked snail being basically impossible to scrape out and my fine motor dexterity isn't great, it was delightful. My wife loved her seafood stew. Our shared side of the grilled Zucchini (definitely enough to share) was also a highlight. We've been raving about our fried clam sandwich and lobster roll since. Both were amazing; my wife said it was the best lobster roll she's had (we've never been to maine or anywhere known for lobster). The dessert passion fruit pie was a great way to end, also shared, but the crust was a little too thick and the dollop on top did kind of over power the curd. The birthday sprinkles (it wasnt either of our birthdays) were cute. We will be back. Especially to try the raw bar (We're pregnant and didnt want to risk it).

The decor was simple and not over the top "oceany" as some tourist traps. I saw they were inland which I like. I try to avoid the neon wharf spots and I was so happy. I sat at the bar, which was full of welcoming locals and a tired traveling clown (me). The gravelly-voiced owner of I thing third generation paused a few times between sending out trays of steaming crab. He was a perfect blend of warm-hearted welcoming and hard-bitten tyrant. I went for the all you can eat feast at $69 (prices always subject to change) which comes with fries, hush puppies and coleslaw. I was assured the sizes were running large and it wasn't just a line. I was happy with the mediums. All I can say is they do crab RIGHT here. Fresh steamed ONCE so the meat is incredibly moist and succulent. And they just kept coming in trays of four. I ended up having a dozen which made it a deal at $69 compared at the price of a dozen à la carte. But who cares?!? They are blue crabs steaming and fresh and it was a feast. Side dish commentary: the fries are excellent. None of this cardboard tasting shoestrings. They were thick cut with skin on! The hush puppies classically tasty and the Cole slaw was not over dressed. Bonus!!! I can't wait to go back and try the she-crab soup and the bread pudding (highly recommend by my neighbor at the bar who is a local restaurateur).
