We were seated immediately and ordered not too long after. Food came out quick. I did enjoy the Cajun fries the most! For my bag, I did the house sauce on mild and it was a perfect in between. With extra butter on the side, I enjoyed. I forget which filling we had in the Po' boy was good plus the sauce bud after 4-5 bites there's no meat and only bread left. They don't even open the bread to put the meat in, it's like it's just sitting on top. That doesn't make sense for $15. Personally wouldn't visit again because everything just wasn't up to par for the amount of money you'd typically spend here. read more

The waiter didn't understand ENGLISH!!! We simply ordered the CRAB CAKE BASKET, he brought out Crab soup. We were confused, we asked if it came with the meal, he said Yes. We celebrated Father's Day a day early and all my Dad wanted was some mussels. The ordering process was a bit rough at first but we eventually figured it out. For the amount of food we got the prices was just right. The garlic butter sauce was so good, but the du jour sauce... my goodness was even better. As much as I love crab, the red potatoes and corn or the cob were my favorite in the bag. The corn was so sweet. Next time I'm definitely ordering extra on the side. The order was ready on time and the exit process was easy. I wish I saw more face masks on the people working in the building but luckily because orders were being processed so quickly there weren't many issues with the social distancing. Who doesn't love a good seafood boil? We came here on a cold January day in hopes of warming our bones and our bellies. Food wise, we were not disappointed. We all decided to make our own combo. I went with 1/2 lb shrimp, 1/2 lb clams with du jour special sauce and medium spice. I've got nothing bad to say about this food. It was hot, cooked just right and covered in a delicious sauce that I could not get enough of. The downgrade comes from the lack of atmosphere and service. No one was rude but I didn't really feel welcomed either as the hostess could have cared less about being there. Our waiter was a nice enough guy but forgot one of the drinks and tended to disappear for long stretches of time. We were one of 3 tables in the entire restaurant. Perhaps he was helping in the kitchen? Another gripe I have with places like this is the lack of complimentary bread. You are leftover with so much sauce that you don't want to waste and a nice piece of French bread would perfectly soak up this saucy goodness. Once we flagged down our server, we asked for some garlic bread, which had a strong resemblance to the breadsticks at Olive Garden. I was watching someone on Tiktok eating something similar so I decided that I needed to finally try this joint. I ordered the create your own combo for Jeremy and I to share. 1lb off head of shrimp (which comes with one corn and one potato), du jour special sauce with medium heat and extra corn and potatoes. I ordered hush puppies because I'm southern and I love hush puppies. I loved everything. It was perfectly cooked and plenty to share. My daughter got the chicken tenders and mozzarella sticks. She said it was just ok but honestly, who gets tenders and mozz sticks and a seafood joint. I can't wait to try the po boys and fried baskets in the future. read more

Very mediocre food. We got crab fries to start and they were okay but nothing special. I got chicken fingers and fries for entree and my husband got a fried fish po boy with cajun fries. Both the chicken fingers and fried fish were tough and chewy but flavor was okay. Fries were fine. The server was just okay as well. He seemed to be the only server working at the time so he was overworked. But he brought us refills once and brought the check in a timely manner. read more

We stopped for lunch on a Monday afternoon and found very few other patrons in the dining room. Although they bill themselves as a "Cajun Seafood" restaurant, what they specialize in is shellfish served boiled-in-a-bag with potatoes, corn, and spices. We all found the spices to our liking; even the "hot" was bearable. The sample sizes are ample and the green mussels were especially large and delicious. The peel-and-eat shrimp were large size but the clams were cherrystone size. All in all, it was a good meal at a decent price! read more

Thankfully this restaurant is very large, and can accommodate dine-in relatively safely, so I went with my family. Both the chairs and booths are very comfortable, although the booths are a little tight, the half booth with the moveable table was perfect. I love booths... they just don't always love me... We ordered the hush puppies to start, and they were perfectly fried and served with a butter sauce. I think it would have worked better with a Chesapeake / old bay or Cajun dipping sauce, but still good. Every one of us ordered a seafood boil, and I was a little disappointed with the quality. For the most part it was good, but the crab legs were a little rubbery and the shrimp especially so. I loved the sauce though, I got the Du Jour special which is a combination of all the flavors. I was also a little thrown off at the time that there was no combo deals. It's advertised online so, that's what we had all expected to get. Unfortunately we had to order each thing we wanted a la carte essentially, so if you wanted more than one or two things in your seafood boil bag, it became very expensive very quickly. I'd understand if this was a challenge due to limited sales because of Covid, but when we asked there really wasn't an elaboration on that, more "this is how we do it," when online says differently. This last part is irrelevant to the review, I just want to explain why there are no pictures lol; I moved here earlier this year, but I'm from NYC, and me whipping out my little hand-held camera light to take photos at restaurants for my food blog is something no one ever bats an eye at. But I was relatively new here, I hadn't been to many restaurants here yet, and I didn't know if they would be okay with me taking photos / videos at the table with my little light, so I asked ahead of time if this was okay because I didn't want to be rude. On Instagram, they told me it wouldn't be a problem, just ask for the manager, Steve. Steve apparently wasn't there, I showed the manager who was present the messages from their Instagram account, and after speaking with their team I suppose, he said "we don't know who sent these messages so unfortunately there's nothing we can do for you." ...I just wanted to take photos to post online lol! That's okay though. Just to elaborate on my rating, I'm giving 4 stars because even though I'd give the food 3 stars, I'd give the service 5. Aside from the weird thing with the manager lol, the waitress and the staff were incredibly friendly and efficient. I'd try them again if they get the combo deals back to see if maybe they were just having an off day in terms of the rubberiness. I know it can happen, and despite that, I did like the flavor. This review is just based on the two appetizers we got. When trying out new places we like to try the appetizers as it is an inexpensive way to see what they have to offer. The two appetizers we chose for this trip were the hush puppies and jalapeno poppers. Starting with the Hush Puppies, you do get 10 per order and they come with a butter dipping sauce. When we took our first bite they had decent flavor but they were extremely dense. There was no need for the dipping sauce as it's not traditional for hush puppies. As for the jalapeno poppers they were very bready and I did not care for the cheddar cheese filling. It had kind of an off-flavor to me. You do get 8 to an order and they are pretty good-sized. When ordering they are only taking one person in the building at a time and orders are only to go as of right now. I ordered delivery. My order was a crab po boy with sweet potato fries. Somewhere along the way crab meat with french fries was put into the tablet at the restaurant. So for 16.00 I got a layer of crab meat covered with a handful of fries. The gentleman I spoke with on the phone said I couldn't be refunded, nor could they send me a correct order because I had it delivered. My only choice was to return what I got and get the correct order. I went in and showed him what had been delivered, which he took to the back. No apologies, nothing. At that point I was so irritated, I asked to see a manager, who I essentially forced to say sorry. Where I work, customer service is very important so the fact that no one was, at the very least, going to say sorry boggles my mind. The food was average. Definitely a one and done. read more

Let's start with the good - the food is on point every time. I love a good seafood boil and this always fills me up. However, I can no longer overlook the mediocre-to-poor service we get every time we visit. Most times at lunch we're one of 2-3 tables but it becomes a chore to find our server when we need something - even the check. I'm hopeful that the next time we go during dinner hours it's a little better but I'd hate to take my business elsewhere because of service. read more

Our first visit to Crab du Jour and we were very happy to eat there. It was our first dine out experience in a restaurant in awhile. The scallops and shrimp were outstanding. The best part of our visit was our server, Jane, who was friendly and made us feel very welcome in the restaurant. Awesome place with good happy hour specials. $3 bud/miller pints $5 rail drinks and about $1-2 off po boys apps, and some steamers. First time I went I had the oyster po boy, 5 delicious oysters, thousand island, lettuce and tomato. Als had the happy hour littleneck clams which came with butter and old bay. Lastly $5 Marg with Jose cuervo and salted rim was good. Second time I got the steamer of shrimp head on and crawfish with their transitional cajun seasoning and spicy, it was bomb. Update to Crab du Jour. So an evening out with some friends(it was 6 of us). Decided to use the Local Flavor coupon. We were told we couldn't use it because only one coupon per table. Something we used before but it's ok. So the floor Manager( she said her name was Savanna) went to ask the kitchen Manager if it was ok. Of course it was.not. What I want to know is since when do Managers serve? So individual checks we had. We get the check and each check has a gratuity of 18% added on already WHY? When questioned why we all had separate checks why were we ALL charged 18% gratuity. She said because it was 6 of us at the table. I thought that gratuity was something that you as the patron added on regardless not something automatically added on. It's a tip not something mandatory. First time visiting, I am from out of town (DMV area). I came in to place a Togo order. The customer service was friendly but my waiter was unable to answer any of my questions. I asked was the soup fresh, and she didn't know and didn't go ask. She also told me she hasn't tasted anything on the menu. So wasn't able to make any recommendations. My wife order crab legs and I order Flounder, Chicken Tenders and Caesar Salad. The flavor was so so, and they gave me tarter sauce with my tenders. The fries were soggy and undercooked. The crabs come in a bag filled with sauce and I believe they are overpriced and one of the clusters was missing a leg. My 2 star score is primarily based on the quality of food vs. the price. This place is definitely overpriced by at least 20% considering the quality, taste and location. Side note: My sister order food online and the system charged her a sales tax. There should be no sales tax in Delaware. So be aware. read more

I ordered online which became an issue because I clicked the wrong item for my seafood bag. I ordered clams by accident instead of crawfish. I am allergic to clams. So I called them back and told them the problem. They let me come in to return the bag. When I bought the bag home and attempted to eat it I seen all they did was take some of the clams out and put in the crawfish. So I could not eat it. Not only that but there was a hair in my food as well. The taste of the food was not the best either. If you are choosing I would recommend tasty crab. They are more expensive but it's worth it. The food was actually very good, the service, not so much. Had the service been better the rating would have been better. We called to see if a reservation was needed and told with 5 adults and 2 kids under 5 we would, so we made a reservation for "now". The reservation was for 5:45pm we arrived a few minutes before and were seated right away. 35 minutes later a waitress came to take our drink order and that was only after about 20 minutes into our wait and after a busboy asked us if we had been helped yet and went to find a waitperson. Meanwhile, 3 individuals stood at the hostess stand chitchatting and looking straight at our table the entire time. One of our party went up to said hostess stand to see how much longer it would be and was told at least 5-10 minutes maybe more. To add insult to injury one of those people standing around the hostess stand seated another group and got their drinks, we still sat without anyone actually coming to our table to take drink or food orders. 35 minutes after we arrived a very frazzled waitress stopped at our table to see if anyone had waited on us, we said no so she took our drink order and apologized for the wait. When she returned with our drinks she said there were only 2 people waiting tables so it might take a little longer for our food. Our food finally came minus one person's meal. The guy that had been standing around the hostess stand came over to our table and asked if anyone got anything extra in their meal because the kitchen swore they had made it. Needless to say, we were still missing an entire meal whether or not someone had something extra in theirs. Our poor waitress was literally running around taking care of her tables. As I said earlier in this review the food was quite good. The folks that got the meal in a bag were very happy with it, the fried shrimp basket and the fried shrimp po'boy while they were good, they were overpriced for what you got. The po'boy had 5 fried shrimp on top of an almost stale roll (or maybe it was toasted) a bed of lettuce and tomato for $13.99. What would have made the po'boy better would have been less lettuce and tomato and the fried shrimp cut into smaller pieces. We had asked to speak with a manager and there was none on the premises, instead we got the bartender because she was the only one over 21 in the place. She also apologized and gave a whole lot of excuses for the teenagers that were standing around the hostess stand chitchatting! All it would have taken was someone to come over to our table and acknowledge us and let us know that we might have to wait awhile and get our drinks while we waited. I don't care how good the food is, if the service sucks, which it did, I will spend my money elsewhere. So as I'm sure you've figured out by now, I will not be going back to this restaurant. read more
