My daughter was super exited to try a Korean hot dog for the first time. We head to Momo Tea right…read moreafter school. She ordered a mozzarella hot dog and I went with a flaming hot sausage. I also got a Lime Passion fruit tea with boba. We had 3 mochinuts: white chocolate, funnel cake and churro. Service was 0/10. The young lady at the front counter was not very friendly. She had a flat affect the entire time and when I ask her to explain her fruit teas, she responded "What do you mean? Like all of them?" Their fruit teas looked a little bit different from the tea we order at the mall. What can I say I'm ignorant to the teas but I'm trying to learn. I felt like a bother asking any questions because of her response so I went ahead and ordered one to try. My daughter's corn dog 10/10. My corn dog 5/10. I'm assuming the flaming hot makes the corn dog soggy because mine was not as crispy as my daughter's. Tea 2/10 I liked the flavor but there was a ton of pulp and it was not popping boba, rather chewy, and I'm not a fan of the texture. I would have avoided ordering had I had an explanation of the tea. Mochinuts 5/10 Churro was delicious. The other two were pretty dry and flavorless (my first time trying so maybe that's the norm). Overall review: Pros: Mozzarella corn dog is fire!!! The atmosphere is cute with table games and a claw machine for entertainment. Con: Poor service. Soggy flaming hot sausage corn dog.

I wasn't sure what to get and the sweet girl behind the counter helped out and suggested the potato half and half. I absolutely loved it. So crunchy and crispy and the cheese was so meaty. That cheese pull was EVERYTHING! My sister got a mochi donut and it was delicious. I can't wait to go back and try a tea. Many people came in while we waited and all of their drinks looked amazing. We sat and played the games that the restaurant provided giving it a cafe vibe. It was very nice. Heading back soon!

Vivi Bubble Tea is my favorite bubble tea place in Baton Rouge! It is conveniently located at the…read moreshopping center located on the southwest corner of the junction of Sherwood Forest Blvd. and Florida Blvd. This the the same shopping center as the Asian Supermarket. I often stop by after shopping there, or at other nearby stores for a tasty pick me up. Asian bubble tea is a complex drink that I'm still trying to figure out. I've found I tend to like the fruity varieties with jellies in them. One of my favorites is the Lychee Jelly Tea. This is bursting with flavor from the lychee fruit, with a surprising amount of fruit jelly hidden in the mix. Another great fruit choice is the Passion Fruit QQ, which is one of their top sellers. This fruit tea has a variety of mixed jellies to enjoy. If you are like me, and are not sure of what you want to order, stop outside and look at the information posted on the windows. This has the menu, as well as helpful information like the top ten best sellers (hard to go wrong there). You might also ask the friendly staff for suggestions, they will be happy to help. In addition to their astonishing assortment of drinks, Vivi has snacks! The chief one I've seen being sold is the popcorn chicken. This has a variety of seasonings one can try. Another option is the Asian sausages on a stick, which makes the short tasty sausages into finger food. So, next time you are on the eastern part of Florida Blvd. stop in and get a first class drink. It will certainly improve your day.

Having thought I've eaten through most donut shops in BR, I was surprised to learn the existence of…read moreCrispy Donut, which has supposedly been around for the better part of the last two decades. Located along Highland Road just outside of the LSU campus, this Asian-owned biz has been hiding behind a popular Chevron gas. station. It's not much to look at from the outside, but fans of donuts and kolaches will be able to enjoy something here. The inside is quiet and has limited counter seating and goes heavy on the LSU decor. It feels like a cafe that is dated but still hasn't finished the renovation. I imagine the idea is to pump some gas and get a donut, which has a staple format for so many BR peeps. The menu will always elicit a double take from me, with its awkward placement of numbers and the fact the stickers are so large that they had to abbreviate kolache to "kolach" and jalapeño to jalap. What's not condensed is those prices, which show nearly $40 for a dozen boudin kolaches and $12-20 for a dozen donuts. The breakfast croissants are $44 for a dozen, which just feels very steep. If a donut maximizes the taste, then the value is sometimes justified. However, trying their glazed, sprinkled, cake, fritters, and chocolate donuts, I can't say they're exceptional. The jalapeño kolaches and boudin kolaches were solid, but I'm not likely to order them again. The fact they still have Yoohoo in the fridge, is a nostalgic throwback I can appreciate. The owner is a sweet Cambodian man and is welcoming for every customer. Any attempts to use a credit card will incur a 50 cent surcharge for any purchases less than $5. Parking is limited to the gas station spots, but it's never crowded enough in here to be an issue. Lastly, every pastry shop is guilty of this, but the mini flies stuck inside of the display case is a massive turn off. ___________ (#1) Thank you, Yelp app.
