    Spinach & Feta Danish
    Anthony B.

The BEST Donuts in town This was my first time trying these donuts, but my family drives from Denham Springs to get a dozen donuts every Saturday morning. I'm not a huge donut lover, but I do enjoy them on occasions. These donuts are so good, they melt in your mouth. I've eaten donuts from other places in Baton Rouge, but these donuts are the BEST. They were hot, fresh, light, sweet, perfectly glazed, and not too doughy. There are many other freshly baked breakfast options to choose from if you're not a donut lover. Today I had 2 Glazed Daunts for $1.49 each and the Spinach and Feta Danish for $3.99. The Spinach & Feta Danish was light, flaky, perfectly baked to a golden brown, and extremely delicious (I just wish they used fresh spinach). The restaurant itself was very clean, the beverage cooler was well stocked with a large variety of beverages, and the employees were moving with intensity to serve every customer as quickly as they could. Sausage, egg and cheese biscuit. Absolutely delicious! Softest and flakiest biscuit I've ever had.

I'll probably update to five stars after I try something else. They have so many options. I started with a sausage, egg and cheese biscuit. I thought i got a croissant by mistake because it was so soft and flaky, not thick and chewy like most places make. I'm going back tomorrow! Hubs was mad that I didn't get him a brisket kolache LOL

Just left drive thru off oniel lane- got to a second red light after eating a beautiful glazed donut from here.. wow.. might be the best I've had in this town.. wow.. also got breakfast croissant.. freshly made and not microwaved - maybe convection oven because crispy.. great service and I have to say.. new fav This separates me from Mary Lee Donuts in general, like the pacific ocean between Hawaii and LA

I have been here several times and it is one of my favorite restaurants in Baton Rouge for great flavorful food. The food was amazing and great. For an appetizer, I had a dozen of their chargrilled oysters. You can see the smoke and smell them cooking them on the way in. They have this amazing butter sauce packed with tons of flavor and it is served with their French bread to soak up that butter! Some other appetizers we got were their fried eggplant with marinara sauce and their buffalo wings which are so good. For my main entree, I got their blackened shrimp pasta which was seasoned well and came with garlic bread. My twin got their hamburger steak and it was delicious. Some drinks I got for the night were their old fashioned and their Long Island iced tea. The ambiance is nice and perfect for a family outing or to celebrate graduation in my case. This will always be a restaurant I will coming back to. The service was great and Chance was amazing the entire time accommodating our large party! Thanks so much.

I literally lost my appetite after I took a bite of shrimp in their Eggplant Supreme dish. Never in decades of eating out have I had an establishment serve me what I got tonight. The shrimp had a big shrimp on top of the bite that I took, under it were several smaller shrimp, completely dry, stuck together. And they ... crunched. I spit them out, they tasted like dried, week old shrimp. Simply awful. I love a night out for dinner but I literally lost my appetite. The restaurant response was as bad. The waitress took the plate. No apology. Nothing from the kitchen other than, do you want something else? City Cafe must have way too much business to serve a dish like this and not say a word back. I'm not a shrinking violet but damn, a simple sorry might have been nice.

The Whistle Stop is one of those neighborhood places that people just know about. We know now! Folks are friendly and knowledgeable and make wonderful coffees and delicious food. We went twice in a week (long story) and got cookies the first day and breakfast the second. It's the kind of place you'd hang out longer if you had time, although we didn't. Next time. And let me tell you, the cookies we had were the best we'd ever had. Big, soft, loaded with chocolate and macadamia and coconut for a magic combination we've never had anywhere else. It's almost a full meal. We're not local to Denham Springs, but visit occasionally. I ordered the ham, egg, and Swiss croissant, a chocolate chip cookie, and a latte. My only complaint is that I wish the coffee and sandwich had been served hotter. We arrived at 8:00 AM on Thursday and was surprised to find this restaurant was nearly empty with only a few locals having coffee and engaged in a conversation at the bar. The friendly staff greeted us and we seated ourselves at a high-top near the front windows, we both ordered their freshly brewed iced tea while browsing the menu. We wanted to eat and run so we both ordered pancakes and I got a side of bacon - the pancakes were just okay and the bacon unfortunately was cold like it could of been sitting for awhile but it is what it is and we were in and out quickly and our server Whitney brought us each a iced tea to go which was very nice. Nothing bad here but also nothing memorable except how empty the place was at breakfast time in an area that was busy. The restaurant is located on the end of a strip mall a little off the beaten path so that may explain it, we probably wouldn't return just based on the food quality...

I'm pretty sure the baristas remember my order better than I do. Here's what makes Reve worth the visit: - The coffee is legitimately phenomenal. They're all about quality over quantity, using science-based brewing and traditional standards to craft coffee that actually tastes like they care. Because they do. If instant gratification is your thing, Starbucks is down the street. If you want good coffee, you're in the right place. - The baristas actually know their stuff. They'll help you find exactly what you're looking for without making you feel clueless. Fair warning though: this is their coffee shop, and they're respectfully enthusiastic about doing things right. Treat them like the humans they are, and you'll have a genuinely great interaction. - The vibe hits different. It's cozy and intimate inside (compact in the best way), but if the weather's nice, the patio is where it's at--plenty of space, zero stress. Work, study, hang out with friends--it all just works here. If you care about good coffee, good people, and a space that actually feels like somewhere you'd want to be, Reve Coffee Lab is your spot.

I wound up getting a cantina blue (espresso, milk, blueberry layer, and butter pea flower), which tasted pretty good to be honest. The bottom layer had a good blueberry taste to it. There isn't that much seating inside because it's a small interior and lots of students studying. At the back side of the coffee bar, there is some bar seating. With the circular seating at the tree, there is a row of outlets and some by the walls. However, if it's sunny and nice (not raining), I recommend sitting outside for a chat.
