The Doner Kebab plate was very delicious!!! One of the best ones I've had! And the servers are very nice!

We were looking for something different to eat today and remembered an episode of Diners Drive in and Dives and came to Tasty Kabob. This was the best food we have ever eaten. The lamb chops were were the most delicious I have ever had cooked to perfection. The salmon was seasoned to perfection. The hummus is a great starter ,with mint feta cheese and cilantro excellent!!! 10 stars if the rating was that high.I forgot to mention that our server Luis Was very helpful knowledgeable and explained the food choices so we knew exactly what to expect especially when it came to ordering the lamb. Please note: This experience was before Covid-19. I believe they're still open at this time for carryout. However, I don't think dine in is available right now. The best way to get this info. is by following them on social media or giving them a call. This is one spot Food Network's Guy Fieri made a stop at in the 915. I believe this was in 2019. I watch "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" at times. I haven't seen the episode when he came out at this restaurant yet. I enjoyed my experience very much here. Come to think of it, I miss dining out. The staff was super friendly and offered top-notch service. The staff really goes above and beyond for their customers. The place was packed when I went. Yet, the staff was super patient and kind. I had their chicken shish kabob with rice. It was fresh and tasty. The chicken was grilled and tender. It all had a good flavor. I also tried their dolme/dolmas, stuffed grape leaves with cucumber yogurt for an appetizer. I can't describe the taste (sorry!) but I enjoyed it. For dessert, I had a cup/dish of their Persian ice cream. It was a little bit sweet but not really. I would say it was more on the tart side more than anything. It was pomegranate flavored. I'm a fan of pomegranate so it was tasty for me. I'll definitely be back to dine in whenever they reopen. I'm going to try supporting them during these difficult times if at all possible. We drove 25 miles from our hotel to come try this place and next time we would have driven 75! The flavors were amazing and it was hard to make yourself stop eating. We are not from this area but we hope some day we will come back to eat here again. The Dolme was the best we have had anywhere. Hummus was delicious as well. While I really want to support this place (the owner goes to my church), my initial reaction to my Beef Koobideh was "meh". The salad was fresh and dressing was light and tasty. The beef, however, was dry and bland. My friend enjoyed his Chicken Kabob, so that keeps the review from being lower. I will give a thumbs up to Andre our server. I am from Toronto Canada and one of my favorite restaurants is a Persian restaurant and I miss Persian food. When I found out about this place, I got excited. It was highly recommended. Tasty Kabob was a great family feel, good food restaurant. The food portion was ginormous, but I guess this is America after all. I had an all vegetarian meal and it was delicious, saffron is my new favorite spice. I made sure to leave room for desert and tried both the Persian ice cream (OMG so good!) and little, round, gushy, doughy, balls of goodness, I could not tell you the name to save my life, but there is a picture of it on the desert menu portion. The staff was friendly, and both attentive yet gave us our privacy, and the prices are reasonable. I will be making many future trips here. read more

My wife and I visited Tasty Kabob this afternoon looking for a change from the westside American and Mexican food restaurants we frequently visit and thoroughly enjoy. Tasty Kabob a Persian/Iranian restaurant certainly provided us with a very delicious alternative. We tried a appetizer sampler that was excellent. The fried egg plant, cucumber Greek yogurt and mint, olive, hummus, stuffed grape leave rolls, and baked (Nan like bread) were all very, very, good and filling. The lentil soup that we started with was probably the biggest surprise, its delicious. I'm normally not satisfied unless I have some form of meat plate on my plate and was surprised at the very deliciously spiced dishes that fully satisfied us. So glad that I listened to the reviews on Yelp, because the lamb shank was amazing. The meat was so tender and fell off the bone when prodded with a fork. I have been craving a slow-cooked lamb shank for a while, and this is the place to get it in El Paso! The shank is served in a porcelain dish swamped with a delicous tomato based curry broth. Pro-tip: mix that precious sauce with any leftover basmati rice, and you will get to appreciate the spices and seasoning in a whole new way! The boneless chicken kabob was everything I could hope for--lightly seasoned, and exquisitely tender. I am not a big fan of ground meats, so I was happy that they had several options available for skewers! This is an Iranian restuarant, so some items were different than the Mediterranean food I am used to eating. The lentil soup was one example, as the yellow lentils were left whole and unpuréed. The pita is also a bit stiffer and cooked for longer. The main reason I enjoyed this restaurant was because the food wasn't too salty. Most of the time, restaurants attempt to mask poor quality meats with loads of salt. But this place uses fresh ingredients and lets the recipes shine on their own. Literally the only place in town that I'd give 5 stars to even if I didn't eat their food! The owners do a fantastic job of greeting and chatting with customers. Honestly, I felt like I knew the guy my entire life. But let's get to the food... As you sit down, they bring you a plate of fresh herbs, cheese and thin pita-like bread. Fantastic!!! They also brought us out a few meats to sample and they were freaking amazing!! The meats were moist even without the yogurt sauce and had tons of flavor. I ordered the beef sandwich and my friend ordered the beef platter which included salad and rice. Everything was incredible! I almost came back for dinner that same day but realized that I still had half of the sandwich haha. The portions are big!!! Everything is fresh and seems healthy, in moderation of course. I believe they said that the only thing that is fried there are the French fries. The food comes out fast so even if you don't have much time, check this place out. I would definitely recommend everyone to come try it! I ordered my dish with full rice but you can opt to have half rice and half salad. The basmati rice is served with a little packet of butter you can choose to add. The rice is delicious without it but also with. I. Love. Lamb. Shanks. Such a delicious spot!! I waa feening for a good lamb shank and this place brought it! The sauce was a bit too salty for my liking but thank god for the leftover yogurt sauce i had from my dolmas! It balanced the saltiness perfectly! I have never tried dill rice before and the lady who took my order suggest it was delicious and that i try it. I went for it. She brought out half the dill and half regular rice which i was so glad she did. I ended up not enjoying the dill flavor. It tasted too much like pickles lol. Dont get me wrong, pickles are great.. just not as my rice flavor lol. She offered to bring me a whole new plate of just regular rice but i said it was ok cuz if i kind of mixed everything together, it still all tasted great! The dolmas were fabulous as well, and i was glad they charged a decent price for them! Some places are ridiculous with their prices for dolmas but they are great here! I have been looking for a place that could match my splendid experiences with Kabab stands in Germany....this place is it! The doner kabab was just absolutely great.
