Plus, there's almost no waiting time for your order, which makes the experience even better. Highly recommend!

We arrived at the tail end of their Iftar buffet and the restaurant was pretty full, but the manager (owner perhaps?) was so gracious and accommodating. Nobody else was sitting outside but he had the server set up a table for us within a few minutes. We ordered a sort of deep fried cheese stick wrapped in phyllo dough (can't remember the name!) which comes with a yogurt and dill dipping sauce - excellent! We also had the goshnan, a traditional meat pie with lamb and beef. The pastry was flaky and buttery and the mixture of meat and spices were very delicious. My son and I shared a chicken pide - a flatbread with cheese and chicken - also spiced to perfection. My husband ordered the rock pot soup with noodles and beef (you can also order it with seafood). He said it was very good. Our server was a sweetheart - patient with our questions and attentive even though he had to run in and out of the restaurant. The outside seating is nice because it's set back a bit from the street so you don't have cars roaring by while you eat. The Dolan Chai is not to be missed! It has dates and rose and lots of other wonderful elements. I've never had tea like this before. They also serve it iced which I imagine would be delightful. Note on the pictures: I forgot to take them until half way through so just know that the presentation is better than pictures!

It's up a flight of stairs and well hidden, easy to miss. It's NOT INSIDE JOON. I learned this the hard way. There's no outdoor seating. It's pretty much set-up for grab and go. I've been back twice. The Kitchen Collective is a unique way for Joon to expand its menu to cater to workers in the area particularly more Americanized and comfort food ex. pizza, fries, mozzarella sticks, hummus. It also allows the restaurant to test out different cuisines and dishes. Note Soul Rebel is closed and need to pre-order Franki Cookies. Pizza Serata (5/5) - The Unicorn personal pan pizza is quite dense and bursting with flavor in every bite and hits the spot! The fluffy focaccia bread topped with lemon ricotta, mozzarella cheese, onions, roasted mushrooms, spicy cherry peppers, and honey blends well together and the side of ranch dressing is perfect for dipping the crust! The crispy ginormous Mozzarella Sticks were quite fancy with decadent gooey cheese. Yasmine - The hummus and fries were my favorite, while the falafel wrap was fun to try! Yasmine is also at the food hall in Union Market. The Hummus @Yasmine (5/5) - The hummus was bursting with flavor topped with sumac and scallions with fresh stretchy pita bread kinda like giant tortillas. Fries @Yasmine (5/5) - I was deciding whether to go with the garlic fries from Pizza Serata or Yasmine, and glad I picked the fries from Yasmine! The crispy fries were really well seasoned and the Garlic Toum was the perfect dipping sauce! Falafel Wrap @Yasmine (4/5) - While the falafel was a bit dry and dense and the tahini sauce, and veggies in the soft pita bread elevated the flavor. Franki's Cookies (2/5) - The cookies took 20+ min to bake and weren't ready when I picked up my order. I was kindly comped with an order of fries. While I didn't mind the wait, I got the Macademia Nut Cookies instead of the Monster cookies that I ordered. When I mentioned it to the staff member, they assured it was Monster cookies - which it wasn't. I'm not a big fan of Macademia Nut Cookies and both cookies were very sweet. I might come back to try a new concept!

Sadly,…read moreYelp did not provide an entry for Franki's Cookies, and I feel lazy at the time of writing this review; thus I lack the requisite energy to fill out an "add business" query. Likewise, Franki's Cookies (and several other businesses) fall into the Yasmine business conglomerate (and in the case of Tysons, are located at the same place). The food is very close to 3.75 out of 5 stars. The portions, seasoning, execution, and ingredients are all a slam dunk. Though a bit pricey at first glance, it is most certainly a bargain for what you get. The shwarma sandwiches, in particular, are quite enjoyable. The only item I tend to go back and forth on is the hard pita chips. Update: I had initially wagered this restaurant would increasingly become part of my regular rotation, but have reneged after a second occasion in which an item in my take-out order was forgotten (though I will note the host was prompt and courteous in offering a refund); and following a sit-down visit to Joon. I had high hopes for Joon given my positive evaluations of Franki's Cookies (4/5) and Yasmine (3.5/5), but my experience was completely to the contrary. As Joon is the feature experience of the collective, it is hard to consider what once was, in the same manner.

I was curious in checking this place out as I had tried their sister, Joon, a while back. We ordered: +the Balila - prepared with warm chickpeas, garlic, olive oil, and cumin; served with tahini lavash +the Baba Ganoush - charred eggplant and tahina, served with tahini lavash +Muhammara - prepared with red peppers, walnuts, and pomegranat molasses; served with tahini lavash +a Falafel sandwich - more of a wrap, as this came in a tahini lavash wrap; filled with tahina, sahawiq, pickles, and salata; the falafel was a little dried out; wasn't really a fan of their salata +and, the Meshawi platter - this came with lamb kebab, shish taouk, and beef shawarma; served with grilled whole onions and grilled tomoatoes; this also comes with hummus, salata, balila, labneh, tahini lavash, fries, toum, sumac onions & herbs, and pickles; this platter was a bit underwhelming, as the meats were a bit overcooked and dry; we were hoping for some tender and juicy protein Note that you won't need to order separate spreads if you're getting the platters, as most come with. Service was friendly, and there's ample parking. +part of Kitchen Collective +pick-up window +online ordering available +ample parking
