First time ordering through Ubereats. I requested a Philly Cheesesteak breakfast wrap on whole wheat wrap. I got white flour wrap, no cheese at all, and the eggs were dry and overcooked. I also got a Middle Eastern salad with felafel and lamb, they put so much hot sauce (which I did not ask for) on top of the lamb that I could not eat it. I decided to give Tasty Picks a try as it constantly comes up on my UberEATS account. My order didnt take long to arrive but I do with it had been prepared a bit better. Loaded fries- The fries themselves were great but I do wish the cheese was actually melted and the bacon was hot. It seemed as if they made the fries and just put cold cheese & bacon over them. Shrimp Tacos- The shrimp tacos were the best part of this meal the shrimp was well made ! Chicken Nachos- The chicken nachos as well had a great taste but the cheese wasn't melted at all I basically had to cook the nachos upon arrival. I will definitely give this place another try possibly earlier in the day and not so late at night as they do have a lot of healthy options that I would love to try out ! read more

This day was horrible. So ima keep it short. For about a week i was craving an avocado toast. I got it from them one time and the first time it was delicious. As well as a smoothie that was also delicious at the time. The second time i went back and asked for an avocado toast this is the bs they gave me. 3 very thin sliced avocado. No love put into this and when i asked for a kale, spinach, green apple and mango smoothie, this man gon put ginger in it and try to be rude about it like if i said ginger. Gave this place another shot after being let down from a breakfast sandwich about a month ago. Had the Philly cheesesteak. Overall was sadly disappointed yet again, too much Mayo, gobs and gobs of it in place of the cheese. I opened the sandwich up and it actually looked like they had split a single American square slice and put half on one side of the hero and the other half on the other side. Nice place. I work sometimes in the area and have passed by this place enough time to finally decide to try it. Inside is a little small and for the times I've passed by, it was always crowded - being that I don't like crowds, I kept bypassing it until I found a better and less crowded time. I've ordered early morning breakfast from here and it's been made just fine. They have quite a lot of selections available for whatever you desire, whether it's salad, a healthy shake, or deli needs. The displays are clean, fresh, and organized. The rest of the place has quite a lot of snack and/or drink options along with some basic grocery items. They pack a lot into the small space, so be sure to look around as you might find something you like or would want. I have yet to try a shake, but I will one of these days. They have a lot of choices for that and I've seen people order them. This is across the street from a large Montefiore hospital in the middle of Montefiore country (meaning they have a lot of offices in the area) and just off that alone, it gets busy inside. I came at noon on a Monday and honestly, I have no idea how they manage to keep up with the insane lunch rush from the hospital but they're quick, efficient, and manage to stay super organized even with dozens of people. There's 4 lines to order: Blimpie, sandwiches/grill, salads, and juices. I highly recommend the chopped cheese sandwich; which has a vegan alternative that's supposed to be really good too! I'm a big fan of their Everything Green smoothie, and if you don't tell them a size, they'll give you a large, which was like $5 and so worth it! Tasty Picks is an awesome establishment added to the Norwood/ Gunhill community. Located directly across the street from Montefiore Hospital, it is a prime spot for breakfast and lunch during a busy work shift. They offer hot and cold foods, my favorite is the salad and smoothie bar particularly. They use all fresh ingredients and portions and prices are reasonable. The only down side is it gets extremely busy, but that's only because it's such a great place. The establishment is clean and the workers are friendly and respectful. read more

This place is not like any other, there's so many varieties of foods to choose from i can bet that you can come here for a year straight and not have gotten everything on the menu. I tried to get a different thing every time i come, today i decided to get the chopped cheese on a roll and it was delicious! I've never had a chopped cheese so i don't know what to compare it to, i just know this one was good. There's not only sandwiches but also a juice bar and a salad bar. If a specific drink is what you're looking for, they have over 100 options to choose from. Honestly, i don't know how they fit so much in such a tiny place. Tasty picks is a one stop shop for the whole spectrum of food. I enjoy that I can come here and splurge on a philly cheese steak or check myself and get a salad with some solid marinated meats. Ive tried the chicken and rice multiple times. The chicken is fresh and has a nice char flavor. Rice is pretty good although there have been a few times where its been overcooked and you'll get large congealed chunks. I appreciate that the side salad is mixed greens insteas of iceberg lettuce. If youre going to get a sandwich, go with a roll or a sub. The wrap pales in size comparison to the sub and is the same price. Ive had the crossfit superstar multiple times and it delivers. As someone who works at the Montefiore Hospital right across the street, I am glad I finally discovered this place! Great prices for great/simple food! I got the chicken and lamb combo over rice for just $6 and it was delicious. I recommend asking for extra white sauce. I would also CAUTIOUSLY recommend asking for extra red sauce. The red sauce was surprisingly spicy! and i'm pretty good at spicy foods. So... when i got the double red sauce.. my mouth was pleasantly on fire, but still bearable. If you can't take the heat, don't risk it. their rice was a bit wet and I didn't like their white sauce as much when compared to The Halal Guys. but this is so far the best chicken/lamb and rice in the bronx i've found! they also have a great selection of other foods as well. the inside is also very pristine (unlike most other corner food shops / food trucks like these) I'll be back! read more

Today it is with frustration and a fork in the road where patience lies is what caused me to download this app just to leave my woes as well as feedback. So Im always up by Monti hosp, always check in with shady picks when I am. In regards to quality of food, the food is edible, sometimes, it's great, depending time of day you order . However, I have to report that the customer service here sucks, and has for quite some time. Every time I call in an order, I get hung up on, have to repeat myself 4 times and somehow, the order isn't ready when I go pick up and it's more often than so, incorrect! I went in the store and called while in the store and watched the Mexican chef or cook in the back pick up the phone, hang it up on me, then when confronted, he turned the phone off and stated the battery died. I asked him give me the phone, you turned it off, I bet it'll turn right back on. He didn't give me the phone. Anyways, that's why I gave 2 stars, I'm going to miss ordering my specialty shake here, but I choose respect and customer service over good food or drink any day. Finally, a semi-healthy deli/bodega in my hood! Tasty Picks is much nicer than a lot of other neighborhood competition, and I plan to go back there more and try some of the sandwiches and salads that they offer. The shop is clean, organized, and best of all it carries products that few or no other places in this area have. I picked up a Bruce Cost ginger ale, but also saw that they have Harmless Harvest coconut water, Bai 5, and even Blueprint juices. For being on the healthier side, a lot of it is still junk food (potato chips, cookies) and they also have a gigantic dessert case at the counter with lots of unhealthy indulgences (tiramisu, cannoli, eclairs). On the other hand, they serve juice and smoothies, and they're actually more affordable than many places ($3.95 for a 12oz). I've yet to try them out but am looking forward to it soon! Tonight I picked up a falafel platter: $5.99 for falafel a with salad, pita and choice of hummus or baba ghanoush). It took the counter guy a little long, as he was helping put together another order that the other counter guy was struggling with, but he was very sweet and even threw in both dipping sauces for my patience. Maybe I just have a way with deli guys, but I always love getting service with a smile :) My dinner was good, and I got a lot of food for the price I paid. I wouldn't say Tasty Picks is outstanding in any way, but for Bronx standards, it's a welcome addition to my usual rotation of bodegas. Discovered this place via Yelp when I was looking for a juice spot after the gym at 11 pm. The majority, if not all, juice/smoothie spots were long closed by then. Thankfully, Tasty Picks was not. This place has an amazing juice/smoothie selection. My personal favorite is their Peanut Butter Monster protein smoothie. It's $5 for a medium and $6 for a large. It's also a $1 for protein to be added. They have a wide variety of healthy food, such as salads and wraps. They also have a great selection of food ranging from Halal to Mexican and sandwiches. Things I recommend - Peanut Butter Monster smoothie ($5). Their chicken over rice is amazing as well ($6). The chicken is flavored and it actually comes with a salad (cucumbers, carrots, onions, lettuce). Their Chopped Cheese is also a must ($6). Pros - Great food and healthy options. Open 24 hrs. You can pay with credit card. You can text your order as well. Cons - Parking sucks. Almost impossible during the day. If you're here late at night (11 pm or later) be prepared to see some high and drunk people. They're pretty funny to me but I can see them being a bother to others. read more

Yeah, I take back my previous review. They've clearly gotten quite full of themselves since they got more popular in the past few years and expanded across the street. Service sucks now. I've ordered salads from here several times, and every time there is something missing, yet I am still charged the same ridiculously high prices. If you question why they're charging you a certain price, they start giving you attitude and making up policies that aren't written anywhere until you give in and pay. Perhaps Covid caused them to raise prices -- but $20+ for a bodega salad and a smoothie? Gimme a break. And for about the 3rd time out of the 5 times I've ordered AGAIN no Pita. I called and they basically shrugged their shoulders and said they'd work on it. This is the second time I've complained.
