Having tried their outstanding burger the last three times there, I opted for their Buffalo wings last night. They are the best wings I've ever had in Riverdale, Inwood or Washington Heights. I can't quite figure out why other places always seem to be missing something when it comes to how they make their wing--but not Blackstone! I ordered the wings to go and while waiting, I had their Blackstone tap beer which will be the only beer I will drink there because it was surprisingly good--and I'm usually not one for tap beer. No longer Heineken, Corona, Amstel, etc.--I'll go with this delightful beer. The staff is ALWAYS very engaging and professional. I will be going there a lot more! read more

We have gone here several times. My parents know the owners from another restaurant his father used to own. They love the hamburgers and my dad really likes the fried chicken nuggets or tenders with French fries. The service is always pretty good. Last week I went in there and as always the food was good and service was pretty good but since I have problems with my back I can't sit on the bar stools. Its not their fault that I cant sit up there bur I wish they has more tables with backing on chairs that would make it 5 stars. otherwise the food is fantastic read more

Made a pickup order here and got a cheese quesadilla and French fries each for my wife and I. My food was ready on time and still very warm and fresh by the time I made the 10 min drive back. Introduced to BBG by one of my favorite colleagues. We try to link once a month for lunch. On this occasion it was my 2nd time dining here and we came in for dinner. It was a raining evening and we took an empty table at the back. There were a few people at the bar but for the most part not too busy however a steady flow of deliveries going out. The menu is simple and straight forward, we were able to take advantage of a couple of the HH drinks. My favorite colleague ordered the Honey butter fried chicken sandwich, which was huge. I ordered the avocado grilled chicken wrap. Both orders came with French fries. I started with a couple a fries first when I realized the wrap contained bacon. This was an oversight on my part because I do not eat pork. Unfortunately, I had to send it back. I asked the waitress for a plate so I could continue snacking on my fries while I waited. She insisted that it wouldn't take long and that they would do the entire plate over. So I waited, my wrap returned solo. When asked about my fries I was told I would have to be charged for a new order of fries because the others were dumped. Not a major deal but admittedly, a little annoying. Ambiance - have a blast here during a football game or just hang out with your girlfriends vibing to the music (beware though - the music is so loud you can't hear yourself talk) The food is pretty good - delicious burgers, tasty chicken pesto wraps/paninis, etc. Just keep in mind that it is bar food but again, very darn good! Quick lunch with my cousin. We opted for the outdoor seating since it was a nice day. It was a little too dark inside for me, but it is a bar so it's appropriate. They must have just opened, we were the only ones there. There were some good options on the menu but I chose to get the honey chicken sandwich with a side of bacon jam. It came with fries which were limp. I was able to find a few that were crispy and they were tasty. The bacon jam was just chopped bacon. Was missing the "jam". The sandwich was a large portion. I could only eat half and saved the other half for dinner. The bar tender was nice and helpful. Although, we only saw him when we ordered and for our food. Which was okay cause we were busy talking and enjoying our food. If I'm in the area again I'd stop by to try something else. read more

I've been hearing good things about this Riverdale eatery, so we went in to have some late lunch. The stuffed cheeseburger was the best burger I ever had! All of the food we ordered was delicious, with the shrimp tacos another amazing entree, perfectly balanced shrimp:tortilla:everything else along with the lime and other seasonings. So I don't know if the employees here can read English or not...but it's been multiple orders via Grubhub or Ubereats where they can't follow simple special instructions. I understand if the place is busy and this happens once or twice but it's happened multiple times, and it takes a matter of seconds to check if the order is correct before it's picked up. Or if you can't make the accommodation, you can call the customer, contact the customer somehow via Grubhub, and say that the accommodation cannot be made rather than just then just sending the order without following the special request. So I don't know if this is a mistake of the restaurant or the people who pick up the order. It's a shame because their food is really good and I like to order from them or go to the restaurant in person But the order never comes correct. Poor customer service. I like to support local businesses but they cannot accommodate simple requests, and don't communicate that to the customers either. read more

This review is for the delivery service. I love the burger from Blackstone Grille. Like "get down on one knee and propose" love it. And like a marriage, I'd happily make that flavorful sandwich of delight my only culinary experience every day. I don't. I'll admit I have some side tasties that shouldn't be named in mixed company showing up at my door. But my brief dalliances with other food services only help me to realize how much I love Blackstone's burgers even more. I have come here to order take-out on several occasions and recently had dine-in service. The service is usually slow and it seemed that day it was even slower for dine-in. We were sitting outside and the server would just disappear for long periods of time. It took us at least 15 minutes to get our drinks, another 30 minutes for the food and then still another 15 minutes to get our check. It was an hour of just waiting. I've had their wings (honey chipotle and bourbon BBQ), honey garlic shrimp, grilled cheese, and French fries. The food is decent but the wait is horrendous. My burger was cooked properly (ordered medium rare), but inexplicably was doused with barbecue sauce, which was not what I ordered. My guest's burger, also ordered medium rare, was totally overcooked; resembling a grey hockey puck. At essentially $25 each, including tax, tip and delivery fee, that's pretty unforgivable. We love Blackstone. I've written them a review before but I just feel like they deserve another 5 stars. Why you ask? Not only am I so happy that they've stayed open during Covid but they just seem to keep getting better and better. Best Burgers EVER. No not just around town but seriously EVER EVER EVER. They are big and juicy and come with the most amazing fries. And the fries always arrive CRISP!! They aren't soggy when delivered like other burger places. BEST MOST AMAZING PLACE EVER! The wings are good but have started getting less wings with each order. Last time placed 2 orders and had 18 wings (9 in each box). This time had 15 (7 in one and 8 in another. They have good wings but I wouldn't get them delivered anymore. read more

First time at this establishment, and after reading all the great reviews and needing a drink after a long week... I was so excited to try this place in my neighborhood. What a HUGE disappointment!! It took 25 minutes just to get a glass of water, as the waitress told us the bar was backed up. We were told about the drink specials and when we got the bill there were different prices on each drink and each round. I would have asked my server what was the issue, but I only saw her once and had to flag down the food runner to get my food and silverware. Overall: - Service needs improvement. Very nice people but slow and bring out wrong orders to many people. - Two drinks (happy hour pricing) and two sandwiches for $70 is a bit much - The fried were overdone and super thing and the meat and veggies I ordered were overcooked and VERY DRY. I couldn't finish it from how dry it was. I really did not enjoy this place, at all. I cannot understand why there are such crowds as between the bad food, inconsistency in drink pricing and terrible service I find it hard to find a reason to want to go back! read more

We called ahead on a Saturday to be sure they had space... and Wow. You rarely get someone to answer the phone at most places. But here, Stephanie answered the phone and was sweet as pie! She let us know the table availability and that they'd be happy to have us. We showed up to plenty of space and fantastic hospitality! We even switched tables (like annoying humans) and had no issue!! Stephanie made the most fantastic martini- through hustling the bar and floor. She modified our food order with no issue- really on her recommendation!! (Nachos with chicken) and they were fantastic!!! The music and lighting were comfortable. I have never actually stepped foot into this place despite living just down the block but I love the food! I've ordered from here a couple of times and I have thoroughly enjoying it every time! My son loves the shoe string fries! So do I! They are the bomb! Tonight I had the grilled chicken sandwich and it was great, I just wish it actually had the roasted garlic aioli the menu says it comes with, but it was still good.
