Can't live without my Thai food!! This is my go-to place. So good! I've tried many places but this is definitely my favorite. I've grown afraid of trying new Thai places because some places use this heavy ketchup-like sauce on the noodles and it is just unpleasant! (i.e. Thai Ginger, Chantanee) The price has done up significantly since I started coming here, but at the same time, prices have been rising basically everywhere so I wouldn't let the price turn you off! It's about $11 per dish, making it come out to about $12.05 with tax. The portions are pretty large though! My favorite dish is probably the Phad Kee Mao. Lots of vegetables to go perfectly with the flat noodles! Be careful of raising the spice though. Not because it's too spicy, but because it gets kind of salty! 5/5 not because it's perfect but because when compared to other Thai places, it is superior. read more

This place isn't my first choice for Thai food, but it wasn't bad. The service was a bit slow, but you can't expect too much during the lunch rush I suppose. The food was good, I had red curry chicken 3 stars and was happy with the portions for the price. Have also tried the Phad Kee Mao and Phad See Iew, both of which were pretty good although I thought the curry was much better. This place is rather small, I wouldn't recommend groups larger than 4. Prices are in line with other similar places, roughly $8 for most lunch specials with choice of chicken, beef or pork. Seafood add $1.50. for those who don't eat meat, they will sub tofu (fresh or fried) for no charge. unlike some places, they are happy to cook your food however you like it. you can actually order online at their website for pickup, but I have never tried it. First of all, let me begin by stating that I'm not a Thai Ginger fan (across the street) as I find most of their food to be TOO salty (and this is coming from a girl who loves salt!) thus necessitating a side of rice with my order - added unnecessary carbs, no thanks! For me, Tasty Thai ALWAYS got it right. Whether you stick with the old classic Pad Thai noodles or venture into something new, it's been excellent in my opinion. I recommend the Rad Na noodles or Pad Kee Mao which is what I usually get. Portions are very generously sized, you will have plenty of leftovers and I'm as happy having them the very next day as if I just ordered it. Lunchtime service is quick and food arrives hot in a prompt manner. However, I would honestly wait to take my lunch hour until after 1PM to avoid the huge swarm of T-Mobile employees who tend to populate the whole shopping square around noon time. Once they come down that hill, you really have no hope. Waiting for the T-crowd to pass means an easier, quicker and quieter lunch time for you and me :) Give Tasty Thai a try soon, you'll love it! read more

Went to Thai Ginger about 5 years ago, and they were packed. I ventured across the street to try the hokey looking place in the strip mall called Tasty Thai. I have since not been back to Thai Ginger. The food at Tasty Thai is pretty darn good to me, and I've never had anything but great experiences with their service. I can definitely advocate take-out as the interior always strikes me as just plain odd. But seriously, go there, order your favorite Thai dish and see if you like it. I can only speak for the Phad Khee Mao as it's what I order 99% of the time. read more

To start: Although they accept credit cards they strongly encourage cash only. It's small and when busy expect to be practically right up next to people at adjacent tables. As for the food: My 20 year old son ordered the Pad Thai. He said it was great and liked that it was heavy on bean sprouts and not sweet at all. I only come here when I have no time to drive further. It's $11 for a large portion of Phad Thai. (My sister and I can pig out on one plate and still have left overs.) But it's a little greasy yet bland at the same time.. Last time I came here, there was a hair in the dish. The server took it back and said they'd make a new one. Literally less than 5 minutes later, she brought out another plate. I had covered the first plate with spices and the chicken on the "new" phad thai seemed awfully heavily seasoned.... Not sure if they really did make a new batch but I was so hungry I didn't put up a fight. I probably will not be going back again anytime soon. I find that with the stay at home order in effect for several weeks now the restaurants I'm willing to drive to have pared down to just the few places that I really like and Tasty Thai is one of them. My kids love the pad see ew and cashew chicken and my favorite is the eggplant with chili paste. We also get the tom yum gai and green curry. I would give this place 3.5 stars but since that isn't an option I am feeling generous and hence the 4 star rating. INTERIORS: It is in a strip mall on factoria and the interiors are pretty cramped up. There isn't space for more than one person to walk through the three rows of tables and chairs that have been setup. With a limited seating capacity of about 35 to 45 people, this place realltly gets crowded during lunch. You might have to wait for 5 to 10 minutes before you get a table at lunch. The tables and floor are clean though so the place is small but not shabby. SERVICE: I visited this place during lunch and hence the service might have been rushed. I don't really like a rushed service but since it was lunch time and there were people waiting I don't have a complaint. However I prefer that service is done with a smile. After all you eat here at lunch break and you want to feel like you are on a break and not like lunch is another deadline that has to be dealt with. The latter is how I felt. I had to ask for water twice. My curry was served without a plate to eat in. The bill was brought along with the food and it seemed like they just wanted people out of the tables asap. In fact I asked for an iced tea and they had to revise the bill but they brought it right back along with the iced tea. I'd like to check their service when it is not so crowded. I would award just 2.5 stars to service. But since the service was really fast it deserves about 3.5 stars. FOOD: Now this is why I still rated this place at 4 stars. The food was indeed tasty thai food. I ordered green curry that was served with complimentary hot and sour soup and white rice. I also ordered Thai iced tea which was served without boba but I liked the taste of everything. I like my food spicy and it wasn't that spicy even at 5 star but you can always add the hot sauce. Everyone else seemed to be enjoying their food as well. OVERALL: I would go to this place again but probably not during the peak lunch hours. The food was good and the prices were a dollar lesser on each item than Thai Ginger on the other side of the road. Serviceable. The woman greeting/waiting tables was sweet as pie, and perfectly amenable to letting me linger over a book as long as I liked. She brought me refills of hot water for my tea, and the food was out promptly. Very pleasantly surprised in terms of service. The decor is bland, but about what you'd expect in the crappy strip mall that is Loehman's Plaza (did I spell that right?). Actually, I can barely remember what it looks like which is sad since I was there less than two hours ago. It was small, but after that, I'm out. The food was fine. I ordered the spring rolls, of which there were a small army. They were okay. The plum sauce that accompanied them tasted...odd. And odd is definitely the nicest and most pleasant word I can come up with for it. They were perfectly fried though, and okay enough on their own that I wasn't crying about not having a sauce. Wouldn't order them again, though. Since nothing else jumped out at me for an entree, I fell back on the Pad Thai (chicken) with 3 stars. Definitely should've kicked it up to 4, but I always err on the side of less spicy the first time out. It was pretty good. No oiliness to the noodles, a little sweet but not the sweetest around, and it tasted nice and fresh. Took over half the Pad Thai and about 3/4 of the spring rolls home. Edit: I am adding another star. A second trip at 130 proved much more timely and successful. I need to go a second time to really solidify my opinion on this place. I called in my order at 11:30 am on a weekday (tuesday?) and was told (very nicely) that it would be 15-20 minutes. I arrived at the door 20 minutes later. Parking was plentiful, which I took as a good sign, until I reached the place and realized there was already a line out the door of people waiting to just pick up food. This is where the stars just start dropping off. Start rant now: It was windy and rainy, and there was absolutely no room inside for more than four people to wait. At this point, my food could have been ready, but I'll never know because I didn't make it inside the door for another FIFTEEN MINUTES. The policy here seems to be that whoever can get inside the restaurant gets to be helped. There was a distinct difference between the quiet, polite people waiting outside and the loud, pushy patrons who had cut in line in order to get inside. Myself being of the quiet variety, I was not happy in the slightest. By the time I got inside and was handed my food, I was down right pissed and had lost all politeness and I worked to shove my way back out of the restaurant. End rant. Though I didn't start eating until about 12:45, the food was still warm. I ordered an order of chicken phad thai, chicken curry, and a side of white rice. The total was something like $15, and seemed a very fair price for the portions. The phad thai was very satisfying and I didn't have a complaint, though it was nothing special to rave about. I LOVED the chicken curry and it went very well with the white rice, which wasn't at all dry. Overall, I was very happy with the food and prices here. We came here for our lunch time during work. We called in our order. My friend just asked for vegetables with my dish. I actually told him I'd rather have tofu. So he literally called back 1 minute later and said actually can we do tofu on that. Well they charged us for both vegetables and tofu and barely put any noodles. This is supposed to be a dry stir-fry but it was swimming in oil making it almost soupy. I had ordered a beef dish from here before and the beef was rather hard to chew. Only ever come here for lunch. Get there before noon or you will be waiting in line. There is definitely a lunch rush crowd! Parking can be problematic around lunch too. Good price for lunch but for ordering a 2-star menu item, it sure didn't even have the slightest kick to it. Also the Pad Siew I ordered was dry. I enjoyed the Pad-Siew that the person I came with ordered instead. Plus don't intend to have a nice quiet lunch here. Summary: While Tasty Thai is a little hit-or-miss on certain dishes, this place is a staple my wife and I go to at least once a week. Saul, the owner, was so friendly. He recommended a Taco Sonorense that was not on the menu, but was delicious. It is a pepper topped with cheese and carne asada wrapped in a flour tortilla and topped with yummy condiments. Muy bueno! We also ordered the Carne Asada and Tacos Dorados and cheeseburger (we have a picky son). All the food was very good, but definitely try the Taco Sonorense! They also have several flavors of flan. This place definitely gets very, very busy during lunch time especially on weekdays because of the mass amount of people on lunch breaks from the T-mobile headquarter or other cooperate offices around Factoria. There's a lunch special price if you order your food from a certain time frame of the weekday. I prefer Thai Ginger from across the street, but it is kind of a lot of work to cross over to that side since you will face a barrier whether you are walking or driving and not to mention the parking lot there is ridiculously small so Tasty Thai will still fix my Thai food cravings. One of my personal favorites here are the curry, everything comes with a side of rice if you catch it during lunch special time and if you dine in during lunch, you get a complimentary hot & sour soup.
