Stopped here for a quick bite after hiking the Swole Park area. We were skeptical at first, seeing that it was drive thru only and not a car in sight. The menu is pretty simple, everything is deep fried :) The burger and fries combo was surprisingly good, along with the pork tenderloin and onion rings! We didn't care for the Shrimp PoBoy, but that was a reach trying it in the first place. The area around Tasty's is abandoned or shut down, but don't let that scare you. This is one of my wife's and I favorite fast food places. I've never received anything bad from this place. The order taker is always so relaxing and personable it makes deciding my order really easy. If it's your first time I recommend the Philly cheese steak or the gyro but again nothing is bad on this menu. The price is a little high and that's because you pay for your quality of food and the fact that your order will correct if you ask for something specific. Love this place! Quality comfort food. But it's hit or miss on some items. Burgers and cheesesteaks are great! Chicken wings are phenomenal. We like the lemon pepper, they are juicy and cooked perfectly. The fries are sub par nothing special so I'd get seasoned fries instead of normal. The mozzarella sticks are good too. Coke products not Pepsi. EDIT: had a family feast. Lemon pepper is definitely the best wings, carrot cake was the best cake, gyros were okay we had both chicken and lamb, lamb the winner. If you get a combo then ask for seasoned fries. The legs and thighs fried chicken was nothing to write home about. Being going here for some time now, have tried the fish, chicken,and gyro, The fish sandwich and the fillets are scrumptious. Love how on the sandwich its a Whole fillet! Yeees! The fish fillet dinners are large fillets with like a ranch flavor. They say the catfish is real but I believe its Swai, but if you don't care its Tasty and very inexpensive for what you get. You won't be unhappy! UPDATE! Omg! had my husband go and get me a shrimp po boy and a fish sandwich, this time the bread was stale and the tomatoes made the fish soggy.!So not happy this visit! Consistency is why places loose business, so please make sure the food standard stays 100% and don't just serve anything to people. Have only been through the drive-thru but I must say the customer service is great! I usually order their spicy fish nuggets with seasons fries and a drink. Let me tell you that they are delicious!!! They're fresh, made to order not too spicy. It give enough kick. They're seasoned fries are also always crispy and delicious without being overly greasy. My husband usually order the lamb gyro and says it's pretty good but nothing Overly special. If anything I would definitely try out their chicken wings or anything fish!!! read more

Came here on a hit from Yelp. The menu looked pretty varied. We had the Philly cheese steak and the chicken strips. My wife loved the Philly and the chicken strips were super tasty. The chicken was fresh, not frozen-fryer. The fries were thick and tasty as well. The service was good and I thought it was fairly quick for fresh food. The opinion rings are like breaded Burger King's onion rings, a lotta bread a lil onion, so those need to be switched up...at least like Sonics..lol Also the fried mushrooms. This place is the definition of nostalgia for me. We grew up eating drive-in/burger stand type food. I love their varied menu. From cheesesteaks to shrimp poboys to chicken sandwiches, there's something here for most anyone. My husband and I ordered the lamb gyro with seasoned fries, spicy chicken sandwich with seasoned fries, and 6 piece full wings with buffalo sauce. The gyro was fantastic! Honestly, one of the better gyros I've had in KC. The spicy chicken sandwich had the perfect amount of spice, and I loved the bun they used. The only thing missing was lettuce and tomato - only one small bit of iceberg. But, I wasn't even mad because the sandwich was so good. I would definitely recommend the seasoned fries, as many of the other reviewers have mentioned. I had the gyro and fries. I ended up picking some onions out, but it was worth it. I tend to be real picky about some foods and am more inclined towards chicken gyros, but I loved this one and the cucumber sauce was really good too.
