Came here with a buddy who loves buffalo wings and he was very satisfied. I learned that the other Peanuts in the area are franchised out to bear the name of "The Peanut" and are pretty much autonomous in how they operate and what's menu items they hold. So there are differences between all the others and this one! My friend finds the wings at the location in downtown OP better but not by much. He says they're "different" but both almost equally pleasing. Service was....slow. We ordered a dozen and it took almost 30 minutes at 2:30 in the afternoon. Food is always amazing despite how visually unappealing it seems at times. I wouldn't come here if I was a stickler on cleanliness. Tables are always clean, but anything above that (aka everything on the walls) looks like it might be the next plague. The walls look like they were last dusted and cleaned during the Clinton Administration. If you don't look at that, everything is great. Bartenders are always nice. Made it to KC again - and that means another trip to the Peanut! Best dang wings (this) side of the Mississippi....and probably the other side too! Got 5 recommendations for this place from followers and that was more than enough to get me in the door. Boy was I glad I did. The person behind the bar was so friendly and helpful, she walked me thru the menu and provided me with cold Diet Pepsi and water. I got the chips and salsa and the wings with ranch. The Peanut was recommended by a coworkers and it was delish! Very much a dive bar but always a lovely crowd. You have to understand it's very basic here. Your only wing option is buffalo and it's the whole wing (drum and flat) so keep that in mind when you order. Also very affordable! read more

This popular opinion absolutely holds up: best wings in the city, and not particularly close. Having lived near(ish) this location for nearly a decade, it's naturally my favorite. It's a great place to watch a Chiefs or Royals game with a mix of dive bar vibes (I say that lovingly), Christmas lights, good TVs for the space, and cheap cold beers to go with the wings. They actually play the sound of the game, and strangers becoming high-fiving friends (in non-Covid times), so it's much more fun than some sterile sports bars. It's not perfect. I've had several times where they don't answer the phone for orders, or are running way behind on them. The staff is friendly, but often stretched pretty thin with one server for the whole joint. That being said, any of those minor annoyances are just little blips on the way to me stuffing my face. Food-wise, the wings are traditional with a decent amount of peppery, spicy kick to them. Their traditional wing sauce also has butter in it (!) which is as good as it sounds. Ask for them a little extra crispy, and know it'll take at least 30-40 minutes for them. One wing is whole, including a drumette and drumstick, so it's going to be two based on how most sports bars do it. Eating these wings is a freaking experience. I'm like Homer Simpson: "Can't Talk. Eating." The wing sauce will end up all over your hands and mouth, so you gotta just keep going once you start. When I was dating my now-wife, she had to witness this and still decide to keep the relationship going. I don't really go for bleu cheese often, but here it's a must. If they started lining up shots of it, I'd take 'em. It's house made, flavorful, and the perfect compliment to not just wings, but the inevitable mountain of fries I take down with them. I'll wrap this up with a little pro-tip: If you're ordering takeout, know that the wings will keep and reheat very nicely in an air-fryer. I don't think that place has ever been cleaned. Especially the bathroom. It was just gross all the way around. We ordered nachos as an appetizer and never got them. The tenderloin I ordered was fried to a crisp and inedible. Which was probably a good thing because the uncleanliness of that place was making me lose my appetite. Came here at the recommendation of a friend..and do not regret it. If you get anything besides the wings--you're doing it wrong. Their claim is the 'best wings in KC' and they certainly did not disappoint. They give you the full wing--a rarity that is hard to find at many restaurants anymore. We can't find this in Lincoln. The sauce is a homemade classic buffalo; not too sweet or hot, just perfect. I'm not a person that can handle blue cheese, but my friends also raved about this. The atmosphere is a total old school dive bar and the restaurant is very tiny, so it can be hard to get a table, but it's worth the wait. There really isn't much else to say. I'm a MASSIVE carnivore ( ie. I don't think I'd last one day as a vegetarian). So when I heard that The Peanut has giant chicken wings, I had to check it out. Now this is the epitome of what you'd expect a dive bar to be. Came here for happy hour with a few friends and a huge appetite. I ordered the half dozen wings + a side order of crinkle cut fries. You only get one option for the type of wing: bone-in with buffalo sauce. They do take atleast 20min to make, since they fry them fresh each time. The wings had the perfect amount of heat which balanced well with the housemate blue cheese dressing. They were also ridiculously crispy The fries were decent: I just wish they had a little bit of salt on them. Overall: really enjoyed it, and will be back when I get a hankering for giant wings again read more

Let's just start off by saying, we're from California, here visiting for a basketball tournament, and we've never seen Buffalo Wings this big! My son is the biggest wing fan, and he said without a doubt these wings were the best he's had. And their homemade ranch... the best! The burger comes with chips or crinkle fries. Chose fries and they eye really good. Chili was homemade...not a real big fan of the chili though. And the cheese on top isn't hand grated; rather the kind of cheese you get pre-shredded out of a bag. The chili is mostly a lot of chopped up hamburger meat and only a few beans and small amount of onions and bell peppers. I mean, if you like a super duper meaty chili, this might be for you. I guess I'm more into a chili that is saucy, which this definitely was not. The ambiance was like you'd expect a pub to be. It was bright, fun atmosphere, and seemed to invite a diverse group of people. It must be a well known place, as it was full, but still had some available seating. I came by here shortly after opening on Christmas Day, which turned out to be a good idea as it got packed! Despite how crowded it got, the bartender was extremely attentive and made sure I had a soda refill ready even before I was done. I decided to try their cheese fries and 3 piece wings, and wow! The wings were spicy, tender, and so delicious. I'm normally not a wing fan, but couldn't help but fall in love with the sauce. The cheese fries went perfectly with the wings - just the right amount of grease, and the mildness helped cool off the spice a bit. Another thing I absolutely loved was how clean it was! So, i am a huge fan of buffalo wings. The thing is that these wings are actually really huge lol. Three wings is probably an adequate amount if you eat fries or a side salad. Admittedly, on a day when my toddler was ridiculously hungry she ate 2.5 and ive never been more shocked. She said, "well they are very good." That is the recommendation you need, trust me.
