I do not see the original Cooks in there there used to be black people cooking now there are people there that can't seem to get the wings done enough I have been eating here since they was on 18th Street this is the worst I've ever seen it I have to go home put the 10-piece chicken wings into the air fryer to see if I can get them done enough I was wondering why today I did not see a line there but I think the word is getting out things are getting bad Iwonder if under new people i have eaten this chicken since 18th st not the same under cooked breading falling off not done but it was tuesday still no line anymore this close to 7pm like grorge g said soggy no crisp thats why i say it not done very bad lost 20 dollors i tryeg to put in oven it was so bad . and it dryed ot crispy i sould got a pizza it been better. read more

This is a driver through only type of chicken shack. There can be a decent line, but it seemed to go fast. I got wings and the size and quantity were great. Ordered the four-piece wing basket with fries and Pepsi. One of the wings was so overcooked I had to throw it away; and also some of the fries were overcooked. Called three times before someone actually answered the phone; the second time they just laid it down. The young male who answered the phone had no solution on helping me with my order. I asked if the lady was there and he said she would not be back for two weeks. This is the second time when the two males are there; that my food has been mediocre. First thing is first I've always been a big supporter of black owned businesses! This place truly has a meaning to me. I was fortunate enough to be able to meet the mangers of this place. Man what can I say they're truly sweet, down to earth, and a fan of the people. Not many businesses care about customers voice of opinions these people here at Wings n Things truly do. This is definitely one of my favorite wing places within the city for sure. It's drive thru only. I will say be prepared for a line up of cars because it's very busy at times. I personally don't mind waiting for great food. Every time I go thru the drive thru I'm always greeted with any help I may need always fair welcoming and I enjoy that. The food alone keeps me coming back but the people that work there are a plus on top of it. My favorite go to is the honey spicy tenders man I just love the tenders with the fries and the momma Shelly breeze drink. It can't get no better than that. We love Wings N Things! If we're anywhere close, we go grab some wings. This is a drive thru or walk up restaurant. It's not fancy. The location isn't the best either. Yes, they have bulletproof glass. We go in the daytime and have never experienced any problem. Onto the food. These are some tasty wings. If you like buffalo wings, I suggest you give it a try. The food is great but the area is about as safe as running naked with lot dynamite. Interactions will be done through thick layers of glass or metal because of how bad the area is. The drive through window has a rotating door, and when a chicken place has to take that measure it's probably just not worth going anywhere around there. I'll for sure be trying another location that doesn't require a bulletproof vest. read more

The last two orders I have made to this restaurant through Uber eats were canceled. I was not compensated and waited 40 minutes before my orders were canceled. I ended up receiving the first order 2 1/2 hours later. The second order that was canceled I am still waiting to receive it after re-ordering. Might just be the last time I ever order here. Don't bother on putting any notes on your order when ordering through any delivery service. They don't look at them and don't care about them. You will never get a request from this location, or your food on time.I have not been able to talk to customer service due to the fact that they're tired of making excuses for the business and have already given too many credits I'm sure two other customers. This review is on the service, or lack of service because I am not sitting in a D/T for an hour! I drive by here often and always notice at least one car in the D/T. They only have D/T and walk up. I figure it must be good being there is always someone getting wings. I have always questioned how they do wings in a D/T without long waits, I figure they cook extra during peak times and rely on call in orders a lot. They have a huge banner on the front of the building with their phone number. After checking the menu pics on Yelp I notice it says they cook to order and it takes ten minutes. So, I do what most people would and call in an order. I am told they don't take call in orders which makes the huge banner with their phone number on the front of their building a bit ridiculous, along with the number posted on the menu board. What is the purpose? I decide I can wait ten minutes and head for wings that have a really good Yelp rating. I arrive and the D/T line is not only out on the street, but four cars deep on the street. Still hoping they Cook extra during peak times I jump in line. After ten minutes the line moved one car. With that rate I would have waited an hour to place my order. Not happening. Maybe when the weather improves I will try the walk up window or just keep getting wings at places that respect my time and accept call in orders. read more

Came here due to my friend wanting to have chicken, and go chicken go I want one. I have always seen it as I passed by but never thought to check it out. It was around lunchtime and the line was a little long. They have a small intercom and menu right before the window. Overall the place seems fairly small I don't think you to walk. We sat at the intercom for a couple minutes waiting for a response but nothing happened. We were not sure if we needed to wait longer or pull up to the window so we went a head and pulled up to the window. Once at the window the lady asked us what our order was and we told her we didn't give it because no one responded on the intercom. She then tried to politely tell us she cannot take our order and to go around the line again. My friend got frustrated and she noticed. Home ever the cook is told her that they will take our order. I got the 6 piece and roll and he got the 4 piece and roll. It doesn't come with fries. Not sure how much the sides of fries were but the order was kid size. I've never had such a small portion of fries and they were done just enough to serve. Not completely sure if I was ok with that. The wings were just ok. They are fried with flour and dipped in the sauce of your choice. I got the spicy sauce and it was good. Taste like chicken you could fry at home. The pieces were small. If they ever tried to do drum pieces and flats I'm sure there would be a problem, so they are whole. Total came up to $14. Guess that's reasonable. Will I be back probably not. The food is still good. Let me say that first. It has been a mainstay in Kansas City for awhile. There is no place for you to eat inside. It is basically drive through. They have a couple different sauces for the chicken wings. They also have catfish, whiting, and a mean chicken sandwich. The sides are sort of standard - fries, onion rings, green beans, potato salad, and cole slaw. The wings are little on the small side in comparison to what they used to be. I can't believe I am the first person to write a review for Wings and Things. WOW! These are the finest wings you will find in KC. This isn't the Colonel, Churches, or Popeye's. Wings and Things specializes in the best part of a yard bird. THE WINGS! Cooked and seasoned perfectly. They also have tenders and fish on the menu. I have not had those yet. I go for the wings, and I keep going back. I prefer mine with the batter, and hot. You can get wing wangs, with out the batter, but I have not tried those either. Wings and a biscuit, that is all I need. This is not your average suburban chicken restaurant. This is a urban chicken joint, at 58th and Troost. Drive thru, or a walk up window. No seating. Despite having a refrigerator full of food, every time my wife goes out of town for work, I make it my personal mission to go out to eat something terrible for me. That's precisely the situation I found myself in this week and after driving by Wings N Things Express for the last 3 years, I decided to finally try it. What I really like about Wings N Things Express is having the ability to walk up and order. It's got a drive thru and a walk up window. I have a deep phobia about my car engine overheating while sandwiched between 2 other cars in the middle of a drive thru. I can't even imagine how pissed someone would be if trying to get some wings and a catfish over their lunch break and having a car overheat in front them in the drive thru. So I eliminate that risk by just parking and running up to the walk up window. Today at WNTE, I went with the spicy #7 which is 2 tenders and 3 wings with a side (fries, potato salad, green beans). I actually think it's only supposed to come with 2 wings, but I complemented the lady at window on her skin and I think she hooked me up with a 3rd wing. Back at the house, I started in on the tenders, which were a good size with a nice, wet but not too sloppy, wing sauce that was really good. The fries are your standard french fry, nothing really memorable about them, but completely satisfactory. The wings themselves were sauced the same as the tenders. They are a whole wing with the drummie attached so they require breaking, which I prefer. They were a little on the small side, but had a nice, traditional, buffalo wing taste. They actually reminded me of the wings at Go Chicken Go in size and quality. What I really liked were the 2 warm rolls the basket came with, nice touch including the rolls. Look, errybody know The Peanut is the crème de la crème of wings in KC, but Wings N Things Express offers a nice second tier wing at a much favorable price point. This is probably a 3/3.5 star joint, but the warm rolls pushed it to four. I will definitely be back. read more

You guys just lost a lot of Business! I have came up there 3 times in the last week, never have I been treated as rudely as I was just done on the phone. Your Sign says 11am open and so does your web site! If it's 11:30am then change it so people don't sit and wait. Then when they call you, you just hang up in there face. The food is actually quite good, and the wings are second only to the MUCH more expensive wings at the Peanut. The prices are just right, and at times the wings are worth the wait. However, the wait time can be absolutely ridiculous. The average drive-thru wait at this place during lunch or dinner is pushing towards one hour most of the time. In addition, if the drive-thru is busy they will sometimes declare the walk-up window "closed", so there is no way to avoid the line. read more

Honestly it's not that great. The food was ok I would go to wing stop and get better. The customer service was horrible. I waited by the drive through speaker box for 5 minutes before anyone said something and what they said was "can you give me a second I'll be right with you" waited 5 more minutes for someone to take my order. I let them know it was my first time there and I would ask questions. I asked what the combo cama with and for extra sauce. They answered so rude I did not ask more questions because it was bothering them. I got my order the lady that gave me the order did not even look me in the face just put the food in the tray and closed the window and left. I saw my bags and food was missing. But there was no one at the window for me to talk to so I left it was pointless anyways. I got home the wings were dry, fries were stale, dry and unseasoned and they forgot extra sauce.
