Not sure why gross chain places continue to exist. The speed from order to out beats fast casual (especially when busy.) Then you get amazing food. Having the chili sauce in container for me to add allowed me spice, but as dish came zero hot just super savory and yummy the meals are open and ready for any pallet. The staff are helpful and patient -- I had a lot of questions and each were answered with care. For the uninitiated, Indonesian food reflects a melting pot of influence and culture- Chinese, Malaysian, Indian, Middle Eastern...just to name a few. We drove here from Massachusetts to check out this Indonesian spot in New Hampshire. It's a small but cozy restaurant with ample parking. We were a group of 6 people. The menu has a lot of classic Indonesian dishes, but we had heard that their soup and noodles are the best. The group started with spring rolls and sate Ayam and got a variation of noodles, chicken and beef rendang. I got the Tour of Indonesia that had a little bit of everything ($18). It came with rice, beef, chicken, soup and some appetizers. The Sate were perfectly cooked and the chicken was still juicy. The peanut sauce and the red chilli sauce was also delicious. The beef rendang was slow cooked and very well spiced. They also offer takeout and pickup. This was the first time I tried Indonesian food so I cannot comment on how authentic it was, but I'll definitely come here again. If you want to try a bit of everything then definitely get the Tour of Indonesia. Bonus: the chef came out to talk to us and to ask us how our food was. Somersworth, NH is home to a large Indoneisan immigrant community, and Tasya's Kitchen is a favourite restaurant. The family that owns this restaurant are so friendly and polite, and always welcome me with a smile. They also entertain my requests for making some of these dishes extra spicy, and boy, does it deliver! Like with most cuisines, the food here is best enjoyed family-style with a bigger group. My absolute favourites here the Mee Goreng (Stir-Fried Noodles), Lumpia (Spring Roll), and the Ayam Goreng (Fried Chicken) with Sambal Matah. The chicken they use here is slow-growing heritage breed, with a dark and flavourful meat. So this fried chicken is so unique, you're not going to be able to find it anywhere else in the Seacoast area. I frequently come to this restaurant not just for their consistently delicious food, but homely atmosphere. They also do specials frequently, so it's worth following their Facebook or Instagram page if you're willing to try new things. I've recommend this restaurant to so many friends in this area, because it's truly a gem! Really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The building is small and the parking lot is confusing to navigate especially with the snow on the ground. Went for lunch today around 1pm and there were plenty of places to sit. Probably 4-5 tables total. You order at the counter and theres a pickup station on the other end. Theres also utensils and napkins by the pickup station too. The inside is clean and we'll kept. There's no baby changing tables in the bathroom. I ordered the Tour of Indonesia, sate chicken, and fried fish dish, also got the Thai tea drink. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful and made to order. I really enjoyed the peanut sauce that came with the sate chicken and the chicken itself was moist and delicious. The fried fish dish was great too. The tour of Indonesia plate was fun and I liked how it came with a bit of everything. It's a dish that could be shared. The Thai tea was refreshing and the perfect balance of sweet. Another solid addition to the Tri-City area's dining options - Tasya's Kitchen offers delicious and homemade Indonesian fare. Proprietor's used to own Dave Spicy house (route 108 in Somersworth) in the early 2000's and after having lunch there it shows that they apply the same level of spicy goodness. Beef rendang was super tender and flavorful and came with various accoutrements such as hard boiled egg, rice with crispy onion on top, red chili sambal, and a medley of green bean, tumeric and maybe galangal. Grilled sate ayam (chicken thigh sate) with peanut sauce - another gem indeed. Also had the Lumpia Semarang which is an Indonesian fried spring roll with chicken, shrimp, bamboo shoots served with a sweet chili sauce. All dishes affordable and more importantly super tasty. This restaurant is awesome! I have been looking for a really good Indonesian restaurant in the area for a quite a while and I finally found one with Tasya's kitchen! All the food I have ordered so far has been awesome, it is very authentic Indonesian food. I have traveled a lot to Indonesia, and I always love eating the local food when I am there, however finding authentic indonesian food relatively close to Boston has been a challenge. The Mie Komplit (Indonesia noodle dish, with marinated chicken and pork), and Nasi Goreng (indonesian style fried rice), were both very tasty! The place is small, but very clean and on top of the food you can order, they have food you can purchase off the shelves, such as Indonesian snacks, and special dishes. The food is delicious. Had the Tahu (aka tofu) Isi...soft tofu stuffed with vegetables and fried into a crunchy, aromatic crust. Addictive on one try. Also the gado-gado, a many ingredient vegetarian dish in a complex peanut sauce. The space is small, clean and attractive, and the atmosphere super-friendly mom-and-pop. Vegetarians take note: the many seems to offer few choices, but ask, and there are at least two dishes that they'll make vegan by substituting out the chicken...I plan to try these on future visits so watch this space. read more
