First we had a dozen raw oysters from the True Chesapeake farm, which were so fresh and flavorful. My favorite hands down was the Chunky Dunker oyster, gigantic and meaty. Then we had broiled oysters, you know, for some variety! They were fantastic. Dinner was fabulous, I had the scallops and my husband had the fish. We ate every single bite, and all but licked the plates clean. To finish, we had dessert cocktails - the Grasshopper tastes like an Andes mint - and we happily headed home with full bellies. Secondly, I ordered a catfish sandwich which was delicious but I ordered it with no tartar sauce and our server said that that's the way she put it down but the kitchen didn't prepare it that way they prepared it with tartar sauce slathered all over the sandwich which I promptly sent back. Not being a big oyster fan, I did get a couple of raw oysters and actually really enjoyed them and will be back to have more in the future. My mom had the snakehead which was very delicious but also a very small portion for the amount that we paid. The website indicated that for those who are gluten-free, like my mom, the menu had stars on them but the menu that we had did not nor was there a menu with stars indicating what is or could be made gluten free. The ambiance of the restaurant was really nice. We chose to eat outside because it wasn't too hot and we could sit under cover and enjoy the beautiful June weather. It was nice inside but it didn't look to be a very large area inside and could have been very noisy with the high ceilings. Not sure willl try in the future and report at that time. There are many things on the menu that I want to try so I will definitely be back. If you love oysters come here and they won't disappoint. I definitely recommend giving this place a try. Small and decent flavor but nothing special. The fries surprised me, because while they were hot they were tough to bite through. Perhaps they way refried or older. I could not figure it out. Out of all of these options the devil eggs were the best. I enjoyed the fried fritters in combination with the eggs. If anything this is more of an happy hour spot, perhaps on the way to dinner.
