Yet, it was not identified until just over an hour before my scheduled appointment. Here are the details: On March 10, 2026, I contacted my primary care physician, Dr. Michael Mertens, requesting a referral to rheumatologist Dr. Megan Byram for severe arthritis in my neck and hands. Two days later, I received a confirmation letter from Heritage Medical Associates scheduling me as a new patient with Dr. Byram on July 14, 2026, and included the required paperwork to complete before my visit. To prepare for the appointment, I requested that Premier Radiology send all imaging of my neck and hands to Dr. Mertens so it would be available to Dr. Byram. I also called Dr. Byram's office and was told she was booked through August and that she was accepting only a limited number of new patients after reviewing referrals and medical records. Based on the appointment confirmation letter and the preparation I had completed, I believed everything was in order. Instead, at 7:18 a.m. on the morning of my 8:30 a.m. appointment--after waiting more than four months and as I was getting ready to leave my house--I received a voicemail informing me that my appointment had been canceled. When I returned the call, I was told that Dr. Mertens had sent the referral in error because I was already an established patient of Dr. Susan Harwell. I was also told that if I came to the office, Dr. Byram would not see me. I did not even remember having seen Dr. Harwell, and I was surprised to learn that I would not be allowed to see the rheumatologist I had specifically requested. Patients should have the opportunity to discuss a change in physicians rather than have that decision made for them. This entire situation could and should have been identified months earlier--not just over an hour before my scheduled appointment. Heritage Medical had more than four months to discover and correct this mistake, yet I was the one who lost my appointment and wasted my time. What makes this especially frustrating is that patients are expected to provide advance notice when canceling appointments or risk being charged a cancellation fee. Yet Heritage Medical Associates canceled my appointment with virtually no notice and accepted no responsibility for the inconvenience they caused. This experience demonstrated a level of disorganization and lack of respect for a patient's time that I found completely unacceptable. I will start looking for a new primary care physician and rheumatologist outside of Heritage Medical Associates.

I don't have any paperwork for you to fill out. Really? She said without your card I can't give you any paperwork. Really? So you don't take cash?? Credit cards? I planned on staying whether I had my card or not. I had an EAR problem. She continued to just basically ignore me while I said - did you find it? Finally I walked outside. Had a friend text me a photo of the card with the EXACT same numbers / info I had already given her. Now it's 2:45 - there is no one else in the office. She says Okay I found you now when would you like to reschedule? It is the EXACT same time it would have been if I had sat down and filled out my paperwork. It was utterly ridiculous. This girl looked about 15 and appeared to have NO idea what she was doing. I had other things to worry about so I simply said - whatever is good for you? I rescheduled for the following week. Went back - same girl - OH SO pleasant this time. Immediately asked me to fill out the clipboard of paperwork that was there the week before. Then I am called in by a doctor that appears to be 20. Now I know new doctors might seem young but she just didn't seem to have any answers either. She explained how she would examine my ear and then send in her nurse. Doesn't the nurse normally come in and take info and then send in the doctor? It was just a STRANGE experience. I really felt like I was on a hidden camera show. This very young girl who did not appear experienced in ear problems talked a lot but followed up every comment with, but I can't be sure if that is what your problem might be. Then she says... I'm going to have the nurse come in and run a test on your ear. The nurse was the rude girl from the front desk. At this point I almost could not keep myself from laughing. It was the most ridiculous experience I have ever had. The doctor then returned with the test results and repeated there may be fluid OR this may just be your normal ear test results. As it showed a little bit off from being normal I guess. It was the most inconclusive bizarre appointment I have ever experienced. I hope there is not a large fee for this appointment or it will definitely be challenged. Left the parking lot in hysterics calling another doctor who may have a better understanding what is going on with my ear! I really felt like I was in a high school mock doctor's office.

Dr. Kyrzynske's nurses are professional andcompassionate. I've never felt rushed as they gather information, review medications, or make notes for Dr. Kurzynske's review. But, it is Dr. Kurzynske who makes one feel like a real person with real value with real issues. He listens attentively, probes to ascertain issues, is not rebuffed by questions, and makes his patients feel like they've been heard and receiving the best medical attention and actions that a primary care physician could offer. He is knowledgeable and trusted to be current in that knowledge. He views patients as whole persons, physically, mentally, and emotionally. He sees the patient in context of their circumstances (i.e., impacted by needs resulting from work and family situations). His compassion is real and comforting. He is forthright in positive and helpful ways. His sense of humor is appreciated. Dr. Kurzynske is one in a billion!

I'd been having some hearing issues for a little while and had been putting off getting things checked out. Realizing that I had the privilege of insurance (a whole can of worms that phrase is), I thought better of my pigheadedness and made an appointment. Actually, my PCP made the appointment. He's awesome and made sure I was in good care. I arrived early (as every new patient should) and realized I parked in the wrong building/garage. Making my way across the buildings, I marveled at how fortunate I was to be at this facility. Health care is a giant of the Nashville economy for a reason. I arrived to the Otolaryngology suite and was the only person in the waiting room. I was checked in by a very pleasant woman, waited a bit and was called back to engage in my hearing test. Both of my techs were kind and clear in their directions. I asked dumb questions and they responded with patience and concern. This matters. Oh, and they were timely! My appointment started on time and ended on time. I was, then, led to the next portion of my appointment and met with Dr. O'Malley. He, too, was on time and up to speed. It sounds like a small thing but anyone who's waited for a significant amount of time to see a doctor knows the joy of on-time appointments. The doctor asked me questions about me, my job and why I was there. I liked all three. It shows that I'm being seen as a person and not just a body to get through. Again, sounds small. Makes a big difference. After engaging in small talk that turned to medical talk turned into an examination, I underwent a procedure. All the while, he explained what he was doing and why he was doing it. My comfort and calm were of paramount concern. Afterwards, Dr. O'Malley clearly laid out what my recovery and follow-up expectations should be. We'll see what happens in the coming weeks but I 100% would recommend Dr. O'Malley and the Vandy Bill Wilkerson Otolaryngology Department for any/all ENT needs. HOW DARE THEY! Indeed, physicians do their retaliatory craft when they know a suspected patient presented under their care has posted something negative about them. This is when the true sabotage and retaliation is demonstrated. An objective assessment of Dr. Lanier needs to be presented to the public. His status as an emergency physician can be questioned by pointing out federally mandated reports revealing surreptitious payments by selective drug companies made to Dr. Lanier. It is of clinical urgency of the implications of what these payments to him mean. The federal reports instigated by an investigation proving that doctors who receive money from drugmakers related to a specific drug and prescribe that drug more heavily than doctors without such financial ties. It is unambiguously clear that Dr. Lanier has been fraudulently reported to Medicare that Kerecis Limited paid him more than $476 for food and beverage(s). Even patients that Dr. Lanier has diagnosed with no functional deficits have trouble figuring out how Dr. Lanier would get away by eluding this financial motive. Dr. Lanier HAS ONE HELL OF AN APPETITE THAT MAKES PEOPLE WITH MALNUTRITION IN THIRD-WORLD COUNTRIES LOOK GREEDY WHEN THEY ASK FOR FOOD. Obviously, this payment has been fraudulently reported, as the true nature of the payment reveals a cash kickback for Dr. Lanier in return for his increased implementation of Kerecis Omega3 compared to doctors who had not received financial compensation from that company. It also must be questioned if fraud is implicated in such payment disclosures. For example, in a payment to Dr. Lanier by Kerecis Limited disclosed by the government was recorded as paying for Dr. Lanier's food and beverage(s) in the amount of $476.62 on March 04, 2021. Even an incompetent person can deduce the red flags raised in this disclosure. Indeed, when further investigated, the truth reveals that Dr. Lanier's secret cash payment was directly associated with more frequent and increased usage of Kerecis Omega3, developed by Kerecis. It is ambiguously listed as a "device." He received a cash kickback from Kerecis Limited in return for using Kerecis Limited's device more frequently than doctors who had no financial ties to the manufacturer. This is compatible with Medicare fraud. To demonstrate Dr. Lanier's serious legal situation, I have accommodated him as a courtesy to show past/current/future patients proof of fraud and advising people to avoid this physician, especially if they have plans of admitting themselves at Sumner Regional Emergency Center in Gallatin, TN. Look at the picture. Voila!!! Physician corruption is at its best.
