They have great staff checking you in and are very friendly and courteous. I love the PA I see. She is very thorough and listens to you. She knows her job and does it well. I do have one complaint about this place. You can't talk to a nurse right away if you need to. You have to leave your phone number and the automated message says it could take up to 48 hours to return your call. That is no way to do people who are sick. I would ask that their corporate rethink the automated call

Yet, it was not identified until just over an hour before my scheduled appointment. Here are the details: On March 10, 2026, I contacted my primary care physician, Dr. Michael Mertens, requesting a referral to rheumatologist Dr. Megan Byram for severe arthritis in my neck and hands. Two days later, I received a confirmation letter from Heritage Medical Associates scheduling me as a new patient with Dr. Byram on July 14, 2026, and included the required paperwork to complete before my visit. To prepare for the appointment, I requested that Premier Radiology send all imaging of my neck and hands to Dr. Mertens so it would be available to Dr. Byram. I also called Dr. Byram's office and was told she was booked through August and that she was accepting only a limited number of new patients after reviewing referrals and medical records. Based on the appointment confirmation letter and the preparation I had completed, I believed everything was in order. Instead, at 7:18 a.m. on the morning of my 8:30 a.m. appointment--after waiting more than four months and as I was getting ready to leave my house--I received a voicemail informing me that my appointment had been canceled. When I returned the call, I was told that Dr. Mertens had sent the referral in error because I was already an established patient of Dr. Susan Harwell. I was also told that if I came to the office, Dr. Byram would not see me. I did not even remember having seen Dr. Harwell, and I was surprised to learn that I would not be allowed to see the rheumatologist I had specifically requested. Patients should have the opportunity to discuss a change in physicians rather than have that decision made for them. This entire situation could and should have been identified months earlier--not just over an hour before my scheduled appointment. Heritage Medical had more than four months to discover and correct this mistake, yet I was the one who lost my appointment and wasted my time. What makes this especially frustrating is that patients are expected to provide advance notice when canceling appointments or risk being charged a cancellation fee. Yet Heritage Medical Associates canceled my appointment with virtually no notice and accepted no responsibility for the inconvenience they caused. This experience demonstrated a level of disorganization and lack of respect for a patient's time that I found completely unacceptable. I will start looking for a new primary care physician and rheumatologist outside of Heritage Medical Associates.

And they referred me to Dr. Sauvageau to check out my broken nose. I thought about getting a referral. I thought about getting a second opinion. But I didn't and immediately (the next Monday) secured an appointment with Dr. Sauvageau. Smartest move I ever made From the way I was greeting in the lobby to Brandy asking me in-take questions, I felt at home. And then I got to meet Dr. S. who advised me of the need for a 'nose job'. Again, I could have deferred and obtained referrals and/or a second opinion. But I felt comfortable with Dr. Sauvageau. I felt a connection. I dug his style. So a week later (allowing for me to 'be off' my blood thinner medication), I had the surgery and it went as well as one could hope for. And then, the icing on the ice....the tops of the pops....the super star of superstars......I came into the office to have some inserted plastic nose thingies taken out and I dealt with Madison. She was great, kind, empathetic, funny, communicative, engaging and just a nice person. I felt very comfortable and I knew I was in good hands with Madison. I had a great experience and thestaff goes above and beyond. I am an Entertainment Lawyer and the most important part of my business is connecting with people, gaining their trust and confidence and making them feel comfortable. I was overwhelmed with these feelings from everyone at your organization. Thank you thank you thank you.
