We tried the chicken sausage appetizer, and the Ukrainian meatballs to start with. Both were excellent and unique. We had the Ukrainian Filet and the Stew for our main courses, and both were amazing. The sear on my steak was perfect. The food was so good we had to try their homemade desserts, and the mango cheesecake was superb. I think the iced cream was also homemade, and quite delicious. I ordered the Almond Crusted Sea Bass ($53) - small plate of food. Everything had a plastic after taste, like it was a prepackaged meal that was thawed out. The quinoa was hard and flavorless. My husband ordered the Ukrainian Stew ($43). That dish was better than the sea bass. Good flavor and better portioned but not a lot of food for the price. I was visiting from out of town and I wanted a hearty but healthy meal, there weren't a lot of options until I came across Tatiana's restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious!! I was seated on the back deck, and even though I was sitting outside the staff was extremely attentive and checked on me often. I ordered the pork shank, which came with a lovely beet soup, and I couldn't leave without a delicious sorbet dessert. This place is phenomenal, I'll just say that. The owner is VERY persuasive - make sure to plan to pay. This is a splurge meal, they have a lot of great options, all very unique for the area, and she'll talk you into trying everything! We started with the meatballs which were so great. The soup (cabbage and beet) is so flavorful and delicious. I got the tortellini and the sauce was so robust and tasty! Even the desserts were great. I did not have anything I didn't like. We dined at Tatiana's as a party of four. We were seated on the first floor near the fireplace. The interior is warm & inviting. Tatiana was our server and she was informative, kind and very accommodating to our group. I love that it's an upscale restaurant but, as byob, we were able to bring wines of our choosing. My husband and I started with the Maryland blue crab & mushrooms. It was a generous portion of crab and the Asiago sauce was rich and flavorful. All dinners came with a bowl of soup, which was warm, earthy and comforting. I was going to order the salmon romesco from the regular menu, but Tatiana let me know about a special that evening that was similar. The special had rice instead of quinoa and an addition of crab cake and grilled shrimp. Naturally, I went for the one with more seafood and I'm glad I did. It had a lot of nice flavors--kind of a little middle eastern flavor hidden in there--and it was a great value. The crab cake was small and a little too salty. The shrimp was literally one grilled shrimp placed atop the salmon. Overall, still a solid dish and cooked well. I appreciated that she gave prices on each "special" so you knew what you were getting into pricewise. I got the Ukranian fruit iced tea and was pleasantly surprised by the delicate floral notes and bright fruit flavors. Both couples shared a dessert each and we all enjoyed our choices. Got in fairly late. No one was at front for a bit, but then waitress came out. Ordered borscht, crab and mushroom appetizer, and filet mignon bourguignon. I hadn't had borscht in a while, this was very good. The appetizer was good as well. The bourguignon came out right off the stove, it was hot and I let it cool down a little. Came across Tatiana's when looking for a restaurant open on Christmas. Called to make sure they had openings and was pleasantly surprised that they had no problem squeezing us in. The staff were super friendly and quick to explain their dishes. The seating area is quiet and intimate. We went with the Ukrainian stroganoff which was full of 3 different types of meats (chicken, beef and sausage). The proportion size was just perfect. The meat was tender and flavorful. We also had the signature chicken which is absolutely delicious. The crab meat and shrimp played very well with the coconut crusted chicken. All dishes came with a bowl of borscht which is pretty much beet, cabbage and onion soup. It was very flavorful and good to start the evening dinner. For drinks we all had the Ukrainian sweet tea which was delicious with a unique blueberry flavor. We finished with splitting a piece of lemon cake and homemade pistachio and wild berry ice cream and Ukrainian coffee. Everything was absolutely fantastic. I wasn't sure what to expect from Mediterranean and Ukrainian. My food was beautiful to look at but it was confusing. The flavors just didn't go together and I wasn't sure if I was eating Mediterranean or Ukrainian. Also, my dish was heavy on protein and very light on vegetables. I missed the veggies. I started with a fruit iced tea drink. The appetizer was an amazing Ukrainian sausage and veggie mini plate. It was a tasty and delicious sample. Second, my dinner came with perfect cabbage/beat soup (not borscht) and hot dinner rolls. I love bread, and nothing beats a hot roll where the butter melts instantly when you put it on. My main entrée was a Ukrainian mixed meat stew (beef, chicken) in a braised gravy sauce. It was delicious. Finally, I ended the meal with marscipone lemon berry cheescake with light nut topping that was just fantastic. The place. Tatiana's is perfectly set in an old brick two story house. The decor is perfect. The tables are set comfortably. The rooms are nicely appointed. Even the bathrooms are comfortably elegant. I wish I had not been alone to enjoy my time at this wonderful eatery. The staff. The only thing that outshined the food and setting was the absolutely perfect staff. From the moment I arrived, the staff was attentive and kind. They seated me immediately at a perfect table for one. Before I had time to think about waiting, they brought me a custom iced tea. The waitress attended to me without hesitation. The soup and roll came out quick, and then the chef appeared to explain the menu and suggest choices. Honestly, the staff obviously loves this restaurant. They treated me like royalty. Overall, this restaurant wins on all levels. Perfect food, great setting and decor, wonderful staff. Wow! I can't say enough good things about this place! My mom and I ate there yesterday for the first time. We just happened to find it from a Google search and thought we'd try it. We had no idea what a gem we had found!!! Both the food and the service were so very special! I work in the food industry and have the privilege of dining in the best restaurants in the country, sampling food from famous chefs, and I can say that I can hardly believe we have a place like this in our area! Best fish I've ever had! Delicious and unique dishes, flavorful and cooked to perfection! We ate outside on the deck, and our servers were lovely. Fantastic! We will be returning here for special occasions. While it is an expensive restaurant, it is well worth it. The food was very fresh, gourmet, and did not take a long time. The service excellent from the owner. Best in the area quality. My husband had the delicious borscht, I had their quality salad greens with just right dressing. Our appetizer was the Ukrainian Mix seasoned to perfection, as were our entrees that were super tender: Stroganoff and Goulash. The dessert was the best dark chocolate cake I've ever had. A Gem of a Restaurant in Central Pennsylvania! I don't think I've had a nicer evening or all around good food like this in the last 3 years since moving back to central PA. Tatiana was our server herself and she's fantastic! The entire menu is well thought out and the specials all sounded so good - it was difficult to decide. Everything right down to the options for iced tea and coffee was second to none. I had a Ukrainian iced tea and I couldn't even explain it other than to say it's definitely worth a try. I loved it and the coffee was so good I could see stopping in just for coffee and dessert! That said.... The pork shank!!! Get it! It's fall-off-the-bone delicious! The food was amazingly delicious and the presentation was gorgeous. Tatiana was the lovely, personable server and our food came relatively quickly. The chef came out a few times with recommendations. The ambiance is intimate and classy near a fireplace and under a lovely chandelier that lights the room intimately, decorated tastefully and very interestingly on the walls with a four-panel horse relief, and inside a beautiful old house. It also has a nice, lighted outdoor patio for dining. It is more on the expensive side but worth every penny if you want to have a sumptuous meal out. Definitely a hidden gem (not anymore) to us we will revisit soon. Oh, and make sure you get the coffee for dessert. It's some kind of Mediterranean blend with very mild spices. I grew up in Mechanicsburg but live outside of Philadelphia now. I was visiting family for a few days and today we were looking for a place for late lunch/early dinner and came upon Tatiana's online. The reviews were wonderful so we decided to give it a try. SO glad we did. Beautiful atmosphere, scrumptious food (we were piggies) had appetizers, soup, salad, entrees, dessert - all fresh, homemade from scratch. The owner/chef Ash was there and was delightful.
