The Lamb Shish, Iskender Kepab and Baba Ghanouj were delicately seasoned, enhancing the food rather than covering the flavors. The lamb was perfectly cooked, tender and juicy. The salad lightly seasoned was a perfect balance to the plate. Lovely Turkish music played in the background of this simply classic, cozy dining area. The owner graciously entertained my desire for a little chat after our meal. A kind and joy-filled spirit is Mr. Baran. My only sadness is I forgot photos! Trust me. I was on a quest to try healthy Mediterranean cuisine, and found this one on Yelp that looked interesting! It's a cozy small place and we enjoyed sitting by the window, the music added to the ambiance. We ordered the cold appetizer selection and really enjoyed sampling the different items and the grilled pita was delicious. I ordered the hot tea, and loved it so I ordered another. Hubby ordered the Turkish coffee and it was served as customary in a mini delicate cup on an ornate tray with a cube of Turkish delight. It was also good, but not as thick and rich as we had experienced at another place prior. I ordered the dorado filets, which came with rice and salad. The salad was actually my favorite, it had a light dressing that I enjoyed. The fish smelled a bit fishy, and actually had quite a few bones. I ordered it filleted instead of whole for that reason. Needless to say, I didn't care for it as much as I could have. The grill flavor and marks were nice, but the smell and bones threw me off. The rice was overcooked but did taste nice, I didn't finish it either. Husband ordered a lamb dish that had cut up pieces of pita in, and a tomato sauce. It was okay but not great either. So overall, it was fun and I enjoyed the experience but not sure if I'll return or not. Maybe I'd order something else entirely and it would knock my socks off. read more

Forgot to take pics, but for starters we got the cigarette borek and the zucchini. The borek was delicious! Zucchini was almost like a triangular fritter- tasty but needed some salt. For entrees we got the chicken kabob and donee kebab. This is the third time I have tried to get the doner kebab and they finally had it in stock! Third time really is the charm I guess. I ordered the doner kebab with an extra side of sauce. A little rice, some kebab, and sauce makes the perfect bite! The salad is also delicious. The chicken kebab had a great flavor and was moist. This restaurant serves wonderfully delicious Mediterranean dishes. The owner is the cook who is extremely personable and serves large portions at very reasonable prices. I was amazed at how much thinly sliced, succulent lamb was on my plate. There was more meat than the pieces of pita bread served with the dish for a price of $19. We were looking for something different for dinner for my birthday, and I had been wanting to try this place. My only regret is that I didn't try it sooner. The restaurant has a nice ambiance, the food was delicious, and the service was top notch. I wish I would have taken a few photos, but we were all so happy to just dig right in that I didn't even think about it. We started with the small mixed appetizer platter, with stuffed grape leaves, hummus, baba ghanoush, piyaz, and haydari. The fresh pita bread that it was served with was very good, and all of the apps were great. We especially liked the haydari yogurt dip. For dinner my fiancé and I split the Chop Shish Mixed Grill, since we wanted to try a bunch of the options, and knew that we wanted dessert. Everything on it was incredible, but the chicken kebab, chicken adana, and lamb adana were our favorites. And there was more than enough for both of us. The grilled jalapeño and grilled tomato were nice touches, and the rice and salad were good. My son and my parents were also very happy with their choices- chicken kebab, lamb shish kebab, and grilled lamb chops. For dessert, 4 of us got the baklava, and 1 got the kunefe. The kunefe was good, and something we hadn't tried before... but the baklava was out of this world. It was perfect- not too heavy and not too sweet, as it sometimes is. There were 4 pieces in each order, with fresh whipped cream in the middle. We took some home, since the portions were plentiful, and we're already looking forward to the leftovers. And I can't say enough about how wonderful the service was. It was so friendly and genuine, and there was no rush to order or to wrap up after we had finished eating. He insisted that we relax and stay to finish up our wine. And the fact that it is byob was nice, as well. We will definitely be back very soon! read more

Very good! Had the doner kebab with a flavorful yogurt sauce and a salad. Even the salad dressing was so light and refreshing! Ended with a Turkish coffee and baklava. Glasses were brought for our BYOB drinks. We started with the Hummus $6.99 and the Cigarette Borek $8.50. (Fried Phyllo Dough stuffed with feta and dill) The hummus was smooth and high restaurant quality. The Cigarette Borek was crunchy and very flavorful. For our entrees, we ordered: 1. Lamb Shish Kebab - ($22.00) perfectly cooked, seasoned wonderfully, and served with rice and house salad. All very tasty. 2. This is one of the best Mediterranean restaurants I have tried the food is fresh and always tastes delicious. It is a cool neighborhood you will drive right by it if you are not looking for it. Awesome!! Doner kabob is such a craze all over the world right now, and boom, we've got a Turkish place in Camp Hill. This family is local, and they pay attention to getting the best ingredients. The Doner kabob is just special. I will try the other items, but this is the best Doner lamb kabob I've had including the DC area. The rice is soft and buttery and the salad is perfectly simple and delicious. Their yogurt sauce is also really good with the kabob. My kids and family have had salmon, shrimp, chicken and Doner lamb kabob and everything we've eaten has been great. I have been here before and liked it but not sure what happened this last time. Service was unfriendly, like we were bothering them. After ordering it took almost 45 minutes to be served. The food was horrible - Koftes were burned and very dry. Then the falafels were as hard as rocks with no flavor. Had to go looking for waitress to get bread and finally the check. I was so disappointed as I was treating a friend to lunch who was recouping from surgery. I had told her this place was good. Boy was I wrong. I will never return after that disaster of a lunch. This is the very first time I have ever posted a review on Yelp. So you have to know that it was incredibly bad for me to be inspired to write this. The food was delicious! Had the Adana lamb, which was grilled ground lamb on a skewer. So flavorful and melts in your mouth. My son had the chicken kebabs, also amazing. Very flavorful and tender. My other son had the kids lamb gyro, which was pretty tasty and large for a kids meal. He loved the fries that came with it. We also shared the 5 appetizer sampler. The baba ganoush was a hit as well as the hydera. Grape leave's appetizer was very nice too. The owner was very friendly as well as the staff. They could use more wait staff though, I felt sorry for the one guy by himself on the busy Tuesday night we were there. An excellent restaurant addition to the west shore restaurant scene. While on an overnight stay in Camp Hill, we accidentally found Chop Shish (we were looking for salads for lunch). What a great find. The food is delicious - and service was great. The restaurant itself is nice as well with tablecloth service. All of our meals done well and the pita bread was made fresh and amazing. Better than many of the middle eastern restaurants we frequent in Boston area. Definitely stop by if you are in the area. read more

This was my first visit and my initial impressions were good! Menu is small but plenty of variety to consider. Our service was friendly, prompt and pleasant. The pita bread served with the eggplant appetizer was a big hit. I asked my server which dish was the most flavorful because I am told I have underdeveloped taste buds! It takes a lot of spicing to impress me! She recommended a chicken dish that included salad and rice in the plate. Well,here's where I was disappointed. The flavoring is very mild at best which was disappointing. Again, I like my dishes to have some bang. So I squirted some fresh lemon on the chicken and finished the meal in peace. So, maybe this style of cooking is appropriate for Turkish food. I would like them to have one or two dishes that have more pop. I'll try again in a few months. This new eatery is a gem! Quaint & cozy ambiance in a historic building. Food ingredients were fresh & perfectly seasoned & menu prices were reasonable. Our party of 4 enjoyed 2 different appetizers--baba ghanoush (diced, grilled eggplant in yogurt w/tahini, garlic, oil & dill served cold w/heated pitas for dipping) & zucchini (pan fried patties w/mint, carrot, cheese, eggs, flour & spices w/yogurt dip). Latter app was my fav! We tried several different entrees--shish kebabs (1 filet mignon, 1 chicken & 1 lamb) & also 1 lamb gyro. My lamb kebab was a trifle overcooked for medium (not pink), but was still fairly tender & so flavorful. Grilled jalapeño & tomato were perfectly charred & salad had colorful mixed greens, chopped tomatoes & cucumbers finished w/lemon & olive oil dressing; a side of rice was also included. Water was served room temp, but server accommodated my request for ice. Turkish coffee was rich espresso & was authentically presented on an ornate, intricately designed bronze serving tray & included a single piece of Turkish Delight under a mini dome! For dessert we sampled Sutlac (rice pudding), Baklava (made w/pistachios instead of walnuts) & Kazandibi (milk pudding w/cinnamon & brown sugar crusted--similar to flan, but w/no egg, so it's more creamy & less custardy. All sweet treats were delightful. Our server was fairly well informed on menu selections, but minimally attentive, considering how few diners were there--we came @ 7:30pm & there were only 2 other couples dining then.
