I hadn't attempted anything creative since the last art class I had in grade school. But I was interested when I saw they offered a Zentangle class which promised the only artistic ability you needed was to draw a stick figure. I took the class and ended up really enjoying it. It is essentially structured, meditative doodling. I came back for several more Zentangle classes when I found it was a great way to relieve stress and get out of the rut of logical, left-brain thinking. I never intended to create great art, but rather to get in touch with the creative part of my brain and to enjoy the meditative qualities of creating art. But I enjoyed Zentangle so much that I eventually branched out and tried several other classes that included things like intuitive painting, sculpture, and traditional Japanese Sumi-e black ink painting. Each class was fun and informative, and I was surprised to find sometimes I actually liked some of the art I created, too, and not just the process. The owner, Debby, and the instructors have all been great. They clearly love helping people learn and get in touch with their creativity. Articipate offers a wide variety of events, classes and lessons. It seems like there is something for everyone - regardless of age and whether you consider yourself artistic or not. It seems like a glut of places have popped up in the past few years offering private "paint parties". I have been to a couple of those and while they can be fun, this place takes an approach that is much more fun and engaging than a one size fits all "paint by numbers" approach - regardless of artistic ability. My only knock was the fact that our food's timing was off so the pork was cold by the time we were able to sit down. This was partially due to class timing and partially due to the way that the class was set up in "teams." My team was very focused on how to do the recipe "by the book" (aka no variance from the demo) which took us longer to get through than that of the recipe cards that were handed out. It was still delicious and an actual recipe I'll recreate in my own kitchen - so 5 stars!

Carey's infectious positive energy and eagerness to teach is incomparable to any other class I've taken. She takes the time to work with everyone and make sure they feel proud of the project they are taking home. I've done three projects at Glass Action and intend on doing more in the near future. Her unique approach to teaching a somewhat mystical, mysterious medium resonates with everyone she meets. A few weeks ago I left work in a kind of awful mood, and left feeling completely different. This is a great hidden gem and all of the galleries are free. It's definitely really small like you could see everything under an hour. There's also a small gift shop.

The space was decorated with cute quotes, plants, and motivational notes. Everyone had cubbies for their shoes and other belongings. Restrooms were available. We were all provided black yoga mats for the class. Puppy yoga was so much fun! The class was set up as half of the time dedicated to yoga and the other half dedicated to the pups. Emma, our instructor, was very friendly and lead us through various beginner friendly poses. The puppies for my class were chihuahua mixes. All of the puppies were adoptable. It felt nice knowing a part of the proceeds from my ticket went to the puppies!

I am 50 years old, overweight, and about as flexible as a broomstick. I have had ZERO dance or gymnastics training in my life. I've never done the splits or even a pullup. My upper body strength is lacking. And sometimes I lack confidence in myself. In just a mere 3 months of Lyra classes, Aerial Dragonfly had me performing a wide variety of moves, poses, and flows in the Lyra, and they helped me develop so much conviction in my abilities, my body type, and my age. I became stronger and much more confident, and with the encouragement of my instructors and new friends, I participated in their spring Student Showcase. I was literally performing in front of a large, supportive crowd after THREE MONTHS of learning and practicing at the Aerial Dragonfly. It was amazing! I've *never* been in a community that was so instantly supportive, fun, encouraging, and gentle. I've spent time with 4-5 instructors and learned something new every time. I've made so many friends and I look forward to seeing them every week. We really support each other and enjoy each other...from all walks of life. You have nothing to lose. You can sign up for one class at a time. You'll be amazed at what you can accomplish, and the incredible community you can become part of. This studio offers a variety of modalities, including aerial hammock, aerial yoga, pole dancing, Lyra, trapeze, aerial silks and more. I plan on trying everything!
