Shirt advertised 25% off...when I went to checkout, they wouldn't give me the discount saying the whole rack was mismarked. Dunhams Troy

This tee shirt was marked as 25% off but when I brought it to the cashier, he didn't give me the discount. He checked with the manager who said the whole rack was mismarked. I told them that that was not my problem and in good faith they should give me the discount. THEY DID'N'T CARE!

Given the popularity of hunting, fishing, camping, backpacking, and other outdoor activities is…read moreMichigan, you'd think there'd be more stores catering to these activities in South Oakland county, but the number has shrunk over the years. There's a Cabelas over by Selfridge, and a Bass Pro Sports up in Auburn Hills, but this is the only big outdoors store within 30miles of me. (I don't count Dunhams, which caters mainly to team sport activities.) Sportsman's Warehouse is the only big box store in the area that caters to traditional outdoor activities, and while it's no Cabelas, it's not bad. The archery selection is fair if you're a fan of compound bows or crossbows, but the last time I looked that had on,y two recurves or longbows. There's a lot of fishing gear for fans of spinning and bait casting, but not a lot of quality fly fishing gear. Selection in most departments is a lot narrower than you'll find at Cabelas, and not all sizes are in stock. Several times I've gone there looking for shoes and boots but couldn't find any 12s in what I was looking for. I went looking for a range bag a while ago and found just a handful of bags. The firearms selection is decent if you're looking for a 9mm auto or an AR clone, but you won't see a wide range of .22 rifles or pistols. The reloading equipment section is very thin, with only a handful of powders, cases, and bullets. Ammunition selection is wide in areas like 9mm and .223, but thinner in other areas. The .22RF selection is a seemingly random selection that changes, probably depending on what available. Still, I do visit regularly, and sometimes find good deals. I picked up a Frog Togs rain jacket that was on sale not long ago, and sometimes you'll see something interesting in the used firearms section. If you don't have a regular sporting goods store nearby, and you do t want to make a long trek to Cabelas, it's a hand place for many supplies.

Went to the gun dept and was totally ignored. Finally the sales associate asked if I wanted to see something, I told him the gun I wanted to see he then walked away he then walked away and asked another customer what he wanted. Young man at the service desk looked like he was new and very nice. I have never been treated like this in any store. He felt like he was doing me a favor even asking me if I wanted to look at anything. SAVE YOUR SELF SOME TIME AND SHOP AT BASS PRO CABELA'S OR DUNHAMS. Just a side note, I worked at Bass Pro Cabela's for seven years in the FIREARMS DEPT. !! GREAT STORES GREAT PEOPLE!!

This is perhaps the most well hidden gem of Macomb County. I…read moresay this because it's located just off of 23 mile, it bolsters a great range, and the variety of product, ammunition, and firearms is second to none. Do you want or need something that you just can't find in a store? This is the place you want to call, show up, and get a good deal at. The courses elsewhere do not compare, whether it be CPL certification, recertification, or more advanced ones. They also have a specialty course designed for women's self-defense that I do hope and intend to take my daughter to when she's of age. These gentlemen are incredibly respectful, kind, and are willing to help you out. No judgments, and are willing to give you the insight that they've learn learned through years of technical training, local/state LE, and military experience. As a woman, I do understand how daunting it may seem to decide on where to go, what kind of weaponry to choose in this day and age. The staff at CQT make it an easy choice for me. I took my CPL re-certification course out here with Dutch, and also had some pretty awesome insights from both Brian and Brandon. Chris is always there keeping me up on tabs about firearms and he even helped me out with adjusting one of my sights. I am fortunate to say that I feel pretty darn welcome here and the people here are always willing to help expand my knowledge and understanding.

Most my gear was still in transit, and I was going to be starting a new job that required me to be armed. I asked to see the bolt carrier and bolt on the rifle I was looking at and the guy I knew was the owner looks at me like I am dirt and asks me why I want to see that... The rifle I was looking at was over 1500 and at the time that was not cheep. I was going to be buying high priced firearms not your bottom of the bine knock off show me the cheapest you got crap and the guy treated me like I was stupid or something. I had to run a class that was using their range a few years back and it was easy to see nothing had changed. Its almost like the owner went out of his way to find assholes. I very rarely say this but if you want a example of who should not carry a gun go to their store.

The Range was organized and got us all our shooting requirements in with half of the people needing to rent a firearm, safety glasses, earplugs, and ammo. Another time I was in there it was a lineup for the range and you could smell marijuana on somebody's clothes. The manager came over and told everyone that if they had been smoking pot, they needed to leave not only because it was dangerous but because they are federally licensed and marijuana is still illegal federally. The manager eventually had to ask them to leave. I went in another time, looking for a particular holster and couldn't find it and when I was walking out I asked the guy behind the counter if he could find one for me for my firearm and he went over to where all the holsters were and found the right one for my handgun. My weapon is 35 years old yet he matched it up perfectly.

I had some questions about different models which he answered without any attitude. When we had a problem with a target holder in our rental lane, he also quickly found another employee to fix the issue. I appreciated that. Later that day another guy was working the rental counter and seemed to be having a bad day. He got frazzled very easily, handed me the wrong model for rent, and then had trouble finding my ID when it came time to return the rental. He was a bit all over the place - so if you end up dealing with him my advice would be to take your time and make sure you check everything carefully before leaving the counter and the facility. As for the range itself, it was largely fine. They were doing mechanical and electrical repairs on some of the lanes while people were using adjacent lanes...probably not ideal from a safety standpoint... At any rate, I'll probably give this place another try before forming a final opinion. I may try to go during a less busy time as it gets quite crowded on weekend afternoons.
