    Outdoor patio seating!

Incredible restaurant! We came late on a Saturday afternoon, and had the whole place to ourselves! It was a perfect date! We sat outdoors even though it was kind of hot. There are umbrellas at several tables so we weren't in the elements completely, but we were trying to keep the summer going! We ordered olives and cheese, grilled octopus, and thankfully the chef had mussels even though it wasn't listed on the menu. It was a special they had for the weekend. Our waiter Mike was crazy attentive and conversational. We had an amazing time and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for incredible food and top notch service!

Came here for dinner for Father's Day weekend celebration. This is our first visit here however we are aware that this restaurant has been here for a few years already and we're very excited to try it. We did make a reservation as well just in case and glad that we did because even though we were seated first right after they opened the place definitely filled up. The menu has a lot of great traditional dishes that I'm used to seeing at other Greek restaurants that I have frequented in the Chicago area for the last 30 years. They also take some unique twists and perspectives of the traditional or classic dishes and recipes, which is also nice to see. The service was absolutely impeccable and Julio was fantastic. He was consistently fantastic with all his tables, which was great to see because it had a level of authenticity and integrity. The food overall was good however I will say that the restaurant probably still has some growing up to do so to speak. For example, the lamb shank was definitely falling off the bone, but also really drenched in a lot of the sauce so they're probably some moderation. The fish was actually very dry and it was drenched in a lot of lemon juice. It probably needed to be a little bit more balanced with olive oil or some other sauce. The skordalia was good however I'm used to it being a lot more garlicky to the point of killing off and scaring vampires. But the fried zucchinis were very fresh and very hot, which is delicious. The octopus was cooked perfectly, which is also quite an accomplishment. The saganaki was also very tasty and due to wilmette laws there will be no table side fire show. The dessert was out of this world!!!! I would definitely come back and give it a try again, especially if there were some tweaks and a little bit more attention to details in some of the dishes. Overall a fantastic experience.

We had dinner at Taverna Naxos tonight and the food was absolutely fabulous! The service, too. Their variation of Saganaki, a pan-seared Greek cheese with lemon is perfectly crispy on the outside with melted deliciousness on the inside, and quartered into four pieces, a perfect appetizer for two. Hubby loved his Moussaka, a Greek lasagna of tender, layered eggplant, tomato, and ground beef topped off with an aromatic Bechamel sauce. I had the Roast Chicken, a sizable chicken cutlet marinated in garlic, lemon, and herbs. Tucked beneath the chicken were Greek potatoes, also in garlic and lemon that were delicious. Overall, an outstanding meal and experience.

Tried Taverna Naxos last night with friends and were seated upstairs which was cozy, friendly atmosphere and not as noisy as it is downstairs. The service is attentive and the portions are generous. We ordered the lamb shank, chicken kabobs, both of which were delicious and tender. Also tried the octopus which was flavorful. The steak kabobs were also great. Tried the saganaki - no show of lighting it on fire at table especially upstairs as it will set off the fire alarms but the taste was great. The food wasn't as hot as I would prefer however was freshly made. Not many options for vegetarian.

I can say with certainty that this was my kids' first table cloth experience, so I'm grateful for the hospitality! The food was great. I am the type of person who loves small plates, so that's all I ordered: tirokafteri, horiatiki, Greek potatoes, Briami...plus I filled up on their bread (the olive oil on the tables is so good) and my sister gave me her revithiosoupa (chickpea soup), which I have to say was surprisingly good. It looked underwhelming, but was full of flavor. I was impressed with what I ate and would love to go back without small children someday :) I didn't get to talk to anyone in Greek, which always makes me a little sad, but maybe .

Service-wise, she was attentive and kind. We ordered a full spread and specifically asked for the courses to be paced so we could enjoy everything. When three appetizers came out at once, I politely reminded them and asked to hold off on bringing additional dishes. Unfortunately, despite that, the rest of the food continued to come out all at once. It made the experience feel rushed and frustrating, especially since dishes started getting cold before we could enjoy them. The highlights were definitely the zucchini chips, artichoke, and Greek salad, fresh, flavorful, and easily the best items we had. The rest was underwhelming. The octopus was just okay, the grilled calamari was chewy and lacked flavor, and the red snapper was a bit dry. We also never received the broccolini we ordered, which added to the disappointment. There's potential here, especially with some of the appetizers and the warm service, but the pacing and overall execution need improvement to really elevate the dining experience.

The restaurant is absolutely beautiful with a warm, cozy atmosphere. It feels upscale without being pretentious, which made it a great place for a special occasion. Our server was friendly and helpful, so we asked for recommendations and ended up ordering a variety of dishes to share. We started with the Sweet Corn Hummus, which came with their complimentary pita bread. The pita was phenomenal! It isn't your typical plain pita you find at most Mediterranean restaurants. It has a delicious seasoning that makes it incredibly flavorful, and paired perfectly with the sweet corn hummus. We also tried the Moroccan Onion Dip. It has a slightly sweet flavor with noticeable cardamom notes. While it wasn't bad, it wasn't quite what I was expecting. Next time, I'll probably order the popular spicy whipped feta instead. One of our favorite dishes of the night was the Hamachi & Charred Avocado. It was light, fresh, and packed with flavor. Every bite was delicious. We also shared the Brussels Sprouts & Honeycrisp Apple Salad. The dressing was fresh and flavorful, but I realized I'm just not a fan of raw Brussels sprouts. The texture was a little too tough for my liking. That's on me--I should have asked beforehand if they were served raw. I think I'd enjoy it much more if the sprouts were roasted, so I probably wouldn't order this one again. For our hot mezze, we chose the Sweet Potato Latkes. They were very tasty with great flavor, although they were just a little on the greasy side. For our entrées, we ordered the Faroe Islands Salmon and the Shawarma-Spiced Skirt Steak Frites. The salmon kebabs over rice were my favorite dish of the evening. They were perfectly cooked, incredibly flavorful, and something I'd absolutely order again. The skirt steak had great flavor as well. Although we requested medium, it came out closer to medium-rare. Thankfully, I'd rather have it slightly under than overcooked. The only disappointment on the plate was the fries--they tasted dry, almost like they had been refried instead of served fresh. The highlight of the meal, however, was dessert. The Triple Chocolate Torte was absolutely incredible. It wasn't overly sweet, the chocolate mousse was smooth and creamy, and the cake itself was rich, velvety, and decadent without being heavy. It was the perfect ending to the meal. And as part of the birthday celebration they served us frozen yogurt with sumac strawberry sauce which was so delicious. Overall, we had a fantastic birthday dinner. While there were a couple of dishes I probably wouldn't order again, the excellent service, inviting atmosphere, and several standout dishes made for a memorable experience. I would definitely come back to try more of the menu.

We grabbed a table and our drinks from the fountain machine and only waited a few minutes for the number on our receipt to be called with our order. The food here is so fresh and delicious. This is one of the best Maxwell street sausages I've had around, the bread was perfect and soft inside and crispy on the outside with the sausage split and grilled and perfectly sweet caramelized onions. The fries looked like they came in frozen/pre-cut but were fried up perfect and a generous portion. The Gyro came stacked with meat, it wasn't dry, and had great flavor. Because the food was so delicious I decided to grab a piece of baklava to go, which I was assured was homemade and delicious - and they were right. So sweet, fresh, textured, rich, luxurious.
