To start off, I'm one that does a lot of research into places before making investments and if I may... This place honestly speaks for itself... I came in with burnt out hair from a former salon (if you know, you know) and I left today with my hair truly flawless and soft as ever! Literally the front desk can tell you, I never stopped touching my hair after the magic happened today. My stylist Zoë was beyond incredible too and truly deserves so much recognition for her work, she was guiding one of her friends through the whole process while working me up today and I enjoyed truly; I myself liked learning the step-by-step process on what was being done to my hair and I gave her a project she truly had fun with. That is something I enjoy doing, for me as a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant)... I like making a difference in people's lives and making an impact on their days in some way; and today with Zoë, I truly hope I made her day today as a client and I honestly can't wait for my next visit with her. My hair goals are a work in progress, but someone that truly wants me to feel comfortable and happy every step of the way, I couldn't have made a better decision coming here. I watch charged the wrong price because someone took the place of my stylist who was out sick. When I let them know the manager refused to give me my money back, even though it was clearly their error, and made me take a credit instead. The thing is, I didn't want to go back in there, ever. So then when I tried to use it for products they told me that the credit could only be used for services. That is just plain theft. These people are not honest and besides that they significantly overcharge even when it's their so-called correct price. They also pay people for reviews, they give you five dollar discount for them, so that's pretty unethical too. read more

Good every time I go. They know how to style, cut and color. I don't have a particular stylist as they're all trained well and always gets what I ask for. They are somewhat expensive but you got to pay for beauty. Beautiful clean bright store. Lots of parking. read more

Don't ever go here, they will CUT YOUR HAIR TOO SHORT! I decided to check it out after going to tips n toes and omg my first time ever, I wanted to cut off some hair like up to my boobs like a new look with some cute layers and OMG they cut it near my shoulders, they cut my hair way too short, not what I wanted and I told her hey, it's kinda short and my heart was pounding, and she just kept cutting, saying it's fine, the other customers have to get used to it and liked it after a couple days, I told her layers, and it was a straight bob cut, ugliest hair cut ever, I cried so much, I am so disappointed and I had such pretty long hair where everyone complimented me on, now it's all gone and I have to grow it out for 6 months to a year to get to where it was, I'm so disappointed and depressed. I know the girl I got was a little inexperienced but there was about 3-4 more senior hairstylists who looked at the photo and looked at my hair and said "yea that's about right". The "undercut" itself took about an hour until someone else had to take over and still didn't get it right. She looked at the picture once and said "I think I got it". That's not very assuring. Very very nice people but I did not want to come out and look like a mix of Dora and a Karen. read more

Nae did a nice job with the color, but the haircut was pretty jacked up. At the time she had styled it, It looked alright. Once I got home, I saw that it was cut too far back on one side and that the lengths were different on each side. Bummer that I had to go elsewhere and pay extra $$ to get the botch rectified. I'm shocked that this place charges so much and apparently hires some people that don't have the talent to cut hair. Even some of the stylists had bad looking haircuts where they over "texturized" their thin, fine hair. Just because you learn a technique in hair school, doesn't mean you should try it on every customer that walks in the door. read more

Rebecca, my stylist, took time to get to know what I wanted and how that could be translated to my type of hair. She recommended a product that has been a game changer to add volume to my hair. I had my hair highlighted yesterday by Kaila and she did an amazing job!!!! I'm pregnant and due in a couple weeks, so I waited a little longer than usual to get my hair done. My roots were horrible, but Kaila worked her magic and I'm back to my bright blonde again. She also worked with me to help figure out the best way to even out my layers without cutting too much of my hair off. My next appointment is already booked! read more

Update as of 9/3/20: I was contacted promptly by both owners this morning who apologized profusely for my experience last night and made it right by offering the original credit back to me for my next appointment. I was prepared to just cut my losses with my money on this one, but I was pleasantly surprised by their fast response and willingness to make it right. I will be making my next appointment with Taylor Brooks very soon. ---- I want to start by saying that Rebecca did an amazing job and made my experience during the coloring/styling process wonderful. If I could give her five stars alone, I would. Unfortunately, because of my experience with management, my review is as low as possible. I scheduled an appointment online, but was unable to make it. Online scheduling charges immediately, so I called to see if I could get that charge refunded/if there was a cancellation fee. At that time, I was asked if I would just like the manager to call me back when she got in that day. She did, and she told me that though they can't refund the online payment, they could honor it at a later date. Great! I made my appointment. I had to reschedule because I was quarantined for COVID-19 (the responsible thing to do), and then was called to reschedule THAT appointment BY Taylor Brooks Salon because one of THEIR employees tested positive for COVID-19 and they had to cancel all appointments for that Friday and Saturday. I finally got in for a consult, and again, THEY rescheduled ME -- this time to a different stylist (Rebecca, who again, was absolutely wonderful.) I came in for my appointment tonight (finally!) and my hair looks great. When it came time to check out, I was stuck at the counter for 30 minutes, all for the manager to tell me that they could no longer honor the money I paid like they said they would because of how many times I had to reschedule. I only made that second appointment because they said they would honor what I already paid -- otherwise I wouldn't have come. And on top of all of this -- not TWO WEEKS after the salon shut down due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19, not all employees were wearing masks during the TWO trips I made up here. I wouldn't say the salon isn't worth going to, but proceed with caution because I feel absolutely swindled. read more

I've been here twice, and enjoyed my experiences for the most part. During my first visit, I felt like the stylist didn't really listen to what I wanted and I wasn't super impressed. I decided to give them another try, and was more satisfied. They treat their customers well with free drinks. I enjoy talking to the stylists as well, and they're very nice. The salon itself is always clean and well taken care of. It's a great location for me, so I know I'll return. read more

This is by far the worse hair salon experience! I came in to get a partial highlight. I showed a pic of the color I wanted. I said more than one time how important it was for my hair to not have a yellow/gold tone. I had worked hard to finally get rid of the gold tone. After going to another stylist who I loved... I had to go to some place new because of an illness that my stylist is going through. My stylist overbooked herself leaving me sitting long periods of time. She did not put me under the dryer to process in a more timely manner because she booked a hair cut during my time of service. Then she proceeded to go out and smoke cigarettes out back. I could tell immediately after taking the towel off my head... that I hated the color. First thing I saw is the Gold/blonde I distinctly said I did not want. I explained that I was not happy with it. I later called and asked to speak with the owner and the manager rudely said she could not give me the owners name and that she was told by the owner to handle it. I have this all on recording along with her rude message saying she contacted Gwinnett police because I said I was going to dispute the charges for the bad service I received. I have since reported this to the better business bureau and numerous social media outlets because I do not want anyone else to deal with this horrible owner. I have no problem paying for good service. But being that I was going to need to pay to correct my color and not to mention the breakage my hair experienced from the services... I was extremely upset. The owner NEVER contacted me or offered to fix my hair. I did not want the stylist who did my hair to touch it after what happened. I plan to create a you tube video and play the messages left on my voicemail that the so called manager left on my voice mail. Buyer beware! I can provide before and after photos. Thank goodness my credit card company after review sided that what I experienced was bad customer service and have began their own investigation. wow, what a frustrating experience. they moved locations mid sept and yet the old address is still listed on their website so if you are a new customer, you go to the old location. it is now mid december but the owner does not seem to think it's a big deal. it is when you are a new customer trying to get to your 12:00 appointment and you find out they moved by reading a sign at the old location. so, then I tried to schedule my 2nd appointment. it is very difficult to get through. either you get a recording or you get immediately put on hold. I'm giving up and I suggest you do too. Go somewhere else that actually wants your business. read more

I normally do not get my hair done but I wanted a change. Shanell was amazing. I told her what I wanted and explain to her why I was so nervous. She talked me through each step and assured me that she would take good care of my hair. We had great conversation the whole time, which is, to me, important because it helps calm your nerves and helps to get to know each other. She also corrected a prior cut that was uneven. I am so pleased with this salon. Everyone is very kind and professional. I had Jackie Yates cut my hair yesterday. He trained at Sassoon (which is the best academy around) He did an amazing job! I have very fine, straight and thin hair. It is difficult to cut and will show the slightest mistake. He is a true Artist and does precision work. I wish I would have gone to him years ago. Jackie, I have never been the type of person to post reviews to sites like this. However, I would not want another mother or child to be humiliated the way we were. I can understand your policy completely. With that said your wife needs lessons in how to treat paying clients and people in general. My daughter is very well behaved and while that is not an excuse for breaking your (ridiculous)policy she could have handled it very differently. You should not be put in a position that you need to apologize to clients because of your wife's behavior. Also you did have an opportunity to apologize. I gave my information including cell # to your receptionist when I originally made the appointment. I did not post this until 48 hours later, in hopes someone would reach out to me. The stylist who was going to do my hair was horrified and she lost money due to your spouse. I hope you apologized to her. I went to Genesis and had my hair done (I love it)I told everyone in the salon about my experience. They were stunned. Also, they were happy to have my daughter there, that's why they are so successful.It's all about how you handle things. I seriously can't believe you have made it twenty five years with her behavior. Congratulations! You also may want to tell new clients when they are booking about your (ridiculous)no children policy. Last Thursday, 3/12/20. I went to the salon to have my color refreshed and hair cut. This was not my first time at the salon, I have been a regular customer for awhile. When the appointment was over, I paid my bill and went home. When I got home and started looking closely at the cut, I noticed that the bangs were not cut evenly. The hair over my right eye is approximately 3 inches long, and it continues to be shorter as you look toward the left side of my forehead. Basically it goes from 3 inches to 1 inch. It was not noticeable at the salon because the stylist had brushed it over toward the left side of my face. It was too late to call the salon, so I waited until the next morning. I spoke with my stylist and she seemed embarrassed by her mistake, she offered to correct the matter. This couldn't be fixed without shortening the bangs even more. I told her I wanted my money back for the hair cut and the tip. When the matter was turned over to the salon manager, she told me they didn't give refunds on salon services. I couldn't believe that they would treat a regular customer in this manner. Needless to say I won't be returning to this salon. read more

This salon has a nice artistic atmosphere and it's a friendly place to be. It's busy, but not so busy that you have to wait several weeks to get an appointment. I must say that they give one of the best head massages when you get your hair washed, but be cautious of the eyebrow waxing..it's over priced for the job they do...that's my only criticism. I will say that I love that the salon gives you discounts throughout the year for recommendations or your information update, which is a big plus! read more

I have had my hair cut and highlighted by Melody for over 3 years and she has done an amazing job every time! She does beautiful color work and my highlights always look amazing (and they grow out beautifully). Her haircuts are wonderful as well- she listens to what you want and delivers every time! She is so sweet and fun to talk to also :) She also cuts my husband's hair and she is the only person he trusts to do it! Fabulous work. ...normally i don't review places if i've been there once but my visit was such a disaster that i think i can put something together. i flew in from michigan to spend thanksgiving with my sister. because i bungled my schedule at the hospital i was unable to see my stylist on tuesday the 21st. on wednesday the 22nd (the day before thanksgiving), after i flew into ATL, i found this place. well reviewed and close to my sister's house. i 'scheduled' a 4pm walk-in and got there at 3:50, to their credit i was seated right away. i would describe the young lady who cut my hair as bored, inatentive, and rushed. i asked her to keep the current architecture of my hair but shorten/texture it and then showed her a picture of me with a fresh version of my usual haircut. based on results i'm not sure how good of a look she got at it or how closely she listened. also apparently she doesn't know how to do a taper/fade. the architecture of my hair is literally nothing like it was when i got there or in the picture i showed her. luckily my usual stylist back in michigan is a sorceress and can fix this in ten days when i go home (my hair grows unusually fast and thick) but i'm out 25 bucks + ten bucks tip and get to look like a neanderthal for the rest of my vacation. no bueno. read more

I called and was excited to get an appointment for the following day with Megan (sp?) I was impressed by Megan's professional tips and tricks, and her poise talking to a client. Stylist Julie is AMAZING! She made my first hair coloring experience the BEST. I am 35 and wanted to bring in a bit of color as I started to find a few gray hairs. The technique she used was called balayage. She painted thin sections of my hair and after it was rinsed out it looked so natural!! Also my cut it perfect - she kept it long but added some great layers. I appreciated that she talked me through the whole process and gave great recommendations on products I should use.
