Came by on a Tuesday-closed Sunday-Tuesday! Came back on a Thursday-closed due to illness Came back last Saturday, door was locked, lady opened door and said they were ready to close. Horrible. They used to be okay but something has changed. They did irreparable damage to an heirloom piece with a lot of sentimental value. They also can't manage to change a watch battery without breaking the watch. A staff member wanted to put a PIECE OF TAPE inside a valuable watch. They are also very rude. Go somewhere else, anywhere else. In addition, they charge the customer for the full credit card surcharge. This it against the terms of service for all credit card providers and is also flat out illegal in California (Civil Code 1748.1). I was told by the employee that it wasn't them charging the fee, it was "the credit card machine" read more

Went on Friday to see if they would buy some jewelry I didn't want anymore and the receptionist brings it to the jeweler in the back and then comes back out and says that he's busy and can't look at it right now but if we want to leave it and come back another day he can let us know if he wants to buy it or not. I came back today on Tuesday which gave him plenty of time to look at it and test it but when i talked to him it was obvious he hadn't even weighed it or anything until we got there, he kept asking how much we'd want for it (which mind you I don't even know how much it's worth) so when I say idk he's like "you really don't know how much you'd want out of it" then he asked if we're trying to get a couple thousand of it which sure that would be fantastic but he of course says we won't be able to get that from him and then declines to buy it. Whatever that's fine. My issue is the amount of time it took for him to say that was maybe 5 minutes max. He couldn't have given me 5 minutes of his time when I came on Friday? I wanted to sell the jewelry so i could buy something else and I was considering buying from him but absolutely not. Absolute waste of my time. I just wanted to know if he would buy it and how much it's worth and he couldn't do either of those things. read more

My husband and I have known "Big" Mike for years and decided to have him make my husband's wedding ring, inlaying a beautiful piece of Russian black quartz (with gold running through) that my husband had - into a white gold ring that Mike designed for it. The ring turned out beautiful. We also had him place one of my grandmother's diamonds from her engagement ring (originally belonging to my great grandmother) to mount in a beautiful setting we put together, later flanking the engagement ring with two wedding bands...it just looked right that way. We have purchased several additional pieces (here). My husband and I didn't really get to know each other since junior high and high school, but finally struck up a conversation at our 30th class reunion, and a friend invited him (very last minute) to breakfast the following morning. Five years later - to the date (Oct 1) - we were married. Having found Mr. Right so late in life, we decided to redo his ring, in which the black quartz was wearing down) on this, our 5th wedding anniversary - something couples who have been together longer may wait until their 25th to do. It is going to be beautiful. Mike is using the same ring he made and replacing the black quarts with an emerald cut diamond in the middle, flanked by two blue sapphires. Can't wait to see it!. We also decided to redo a ring beautiful garnet ring I had already purchased from Taylor Jewelers - which wear every day and have scratched the garnet stone (on). We're replacing the garnet with a beautiful natural yellow diamond. This will be even more beautiful - and durable for daily wear. Mike was awesome and helpful. He helped put the pendant that I got from my husband for Valentine's Day onto the chain from the pendant I got him for Father's Day which I converted to a keychain. It took all of about three minutes and they were so nice and helpful. He even put up with me telling him the sappy story about how I got the pendant. Terrible experience here. Took my wedding ring in about a year ago to get resized, got it back a week later, no problems. Had to get it resized again last month due to no longer being bloated and pregnant. Got my ring back about a week later and it was missing 2 diamonds. Called them, they said okay bring it back in and we will fix it. Took it back on Wednesday and came back the following Tuesday. He pulls my ring out of an envelope and the diamonds were still missing - ??? The owner stated it must of got put in the wrong box and so nothing had been done to it. Said he would get it done that day and to come get it tomorrow - Okay. My husband goes in to pick it up, told him what to look for, he says the diamonds were back in and it was all good - Perfect! He gives me the ring the next day and I noticed they literally filed down the band, a good 2cm divot to get one of the diamonds back in... and the 2 diamonds replaced you can easily tell the difference out in the sun. They do not match. Very unhappy !!! read more

My 92 year old Mom needed her wedding ring made smaller so we went to Taylor's. The first Saturday we tried to go there they were closed, I guess for a 3 day weekend. The next Saturday we found out they close at 2 on Saturdays. We finally got there on the 3rd Saturday and the woman said to pick it up the next Saturday. So, we went and had to park far from the store - my Mom uses a walker and no handicapped spaces or any others near the store. We got to the jewelry store and sign says they are closed today. We were told to pick up the ring on that day - why didn't they call to say they'd be closed? It's just sad when it's hard for you to get around and you go when told to, and they're closed. I know they're a small business. I will never know if they will really be open or not in the future if I go there again. read more

I first met Mike back in 1991 in his store in Modesto, CA - wanted him to design a Heart Shape Diamond wedding ring for my wife to be - Still have the Wife and ring today 23+ years later - I trusted him back then and still today - Wife has a Seiko watch that I 'Tried' to change the battery and set the time ????? Who ever designed the Seiko should be spanked, lol Went to Taylor Jewelry yesterday - Mike took very good care of Wife and Watch - he still is the ONLY jeweler I would trust - He is old school and the REAL deal... stay away from shopping Mall jewelers or only line crooks... read more

Recently bought a three stone mother's ring. I needed a special accomodation to make a round stone fit in the middle of two squares. It was no problem to add two extra prongs. Have used this jewelry store a few times to have my wedding ring cleaned and to thicken a worn band. They did a nice job and I had prompt, courteous service. Recently my daughter went there to have her new engagement ring sized. She was leaving on a trip and hoped to have it done in time. The owner was very helpful in determining the correct size adjustment and promised to have the ring ready the day before her trip.
