I think it's fine for adults. My husbands cut was fine. However, I don't recommend taking your child here for a cut. We brought my 7 year old son here for a cut. She got too close with the razor which resulted in two small razor cuts. It was very upsetting and she didn't really apologize either and then, not that anything would have really helped, she charged full price - not that a discount would have made things better, I just think that it was not the right thing to do. He's had his hair cut many times at different places and this has never happened before. I'll never go back there. read more

Avoid at all costs!!! I went in for a simple trim and long layers with Taylor. Straight from the beginning, Taylor was extremely rude and unprofessional. First she made me wait 30 minutes after my original appointment, then didn't even acknowledge the fact that she had me waiting. When I told her I simply wanted to cut about 2 inches she proceeded to become angry and scolded me that she doesn't go by inches. That is totally fine, every hairstylist has their own technique but there's no reason to yell or become upset. It took me over a year to finally have long beautiful hair and she took that away from me by chopping off over 7 inches. She also thinned out my hair even after I kindly asked her not to do that. The whole experience was traumatic and I am still in shock over what she did to my hair. Overall, she is extremely rude, unprofessional and careless. STAY CLEAR OF THIS NIGHTMARE place and especially Taylor. read more

I called around 650 pm on a Saturday to check if they were open and still taking a last minute haircut. The Asian lady on the phone spoke broken English and said they were still open. When I asked if I could come right away she said "No. We closed." When said it's not yet 7, she said "We closed. There's one customer here and we closed. This was my first visit. I needed a last minute hair lightener. I had touched up the roots 2 days before and I needed the ends lightened. It was a day before a wedding. Taylor the hairdresser got me in at 10am. I explained the best I could. I use to have a boualage but have currently for the last year done my own root touch ups, however I wanted to refresh the ends for the wedding. She said she understood. Well, She bleached my entire head leaving me silver headed. I went home tearfied. My husband went with me to go back down there to get her to fix it. She acted irritated but agreed to fix it. She put me in the shampoo chair and used toner. It was still too grey. I explained again I wanted the roots to have depth or to be dark and ash blond highlights. So she tried again, this time rubbing my hair in her hands like hand washing a stain in a shirt. I was getting mad. Then we went back to the chair and she started ripping at my hair with a brush and drying it. At this point I told her my hair looks to dry and damaged and to let it air dry. This is absolutely the worst experience and I have had my share of hair mishaps in my life. She is not honest about pricing either. Save yourself the headache oh and your precious hair. I love Taylor Salon, SO glad it is in Tracy and close by. I have referred all my friends and my daughter. I adore Helen, she is so patient and kind, love when she washes my hair and trims it- she is the best. The rates are reasonable, the service and quality are top notch and the outcome of my hair is wonderful. I get my roots done and the lady who does it makes sure to put something on my forehead so that it doesn't stain me. Other salons don't do that, but here at Taylor- they know what they are doing. The ONLY perk about this place is hardly any wait, however when i came in for a 3 inch trim, the lady i went to decides to cut x4 of that length and cuts off half of my hair. Went here after seeing amazing reviews on yelp. I ended up getting a cut and color. Taylor was able to get me in and out quickly. I was also impressed they were able to lighten my hair as quickly and nicely as they did, as my dark hair has been a challenge to lighten for many many hairdressers. The cut was great but the color was not at all what I had in mind; there wasn't much communication or clarification beforehand on the style and color I wanted before the girls got to work and it was too late. Didn't turn out anything like the pictures I brought; in fact the girls barely even looked at the pictures and seemed too rushed to even clarify with me what I wanted, but still came out nice, although not what I originally wanted. My mother referred me to this place. She said they were good and had reasonable prices. So last Sunday I decided to give them a try. So I called Taylor Salon asking how much highlighting for my hair would cost, she told me to come in so she could see my hair and give me an estimate. When I came in about 30 minutes later, I asked for Taylor and a man that worked there told me to have a seat. The wait wasn't long at all to see Taylor. I showed her what color I wanted my highlights to be, and she said the total would be $80. Now for MY hair, that was a reasonable price because I have a lot of hair and it's long. So she was coloring my hair, and another lady came in to help her. I didn't like the fact that they kept switching people to do my hair. I don't know if it's just me but I'd rather have one person working on my hair. i And also I hate the fact that they kepy trying to sell me products. t's a bother to me when people keep trying to sell me stuff and I keep saying no. I just want my hair done and I want to be out, but they kept saying that my layers were uneven blah blah blah I should get another trim from them. NO! I just want my hair colored ! After my hair was dried and washed, they took me to the mirror to comb it out.. and this really pissed me off ; MY HAIR WAS BLONDE. I have NO clue how you mix up deep brown with a BLONDE ! I told them that if they don't fix this, I'm not going to pay for something that I don't want. So you can obviously TELL they were talking a lot of sh*t but knew I couldn't understand them. When they were toning it down in the sink I guess they were annoyed with me so they were being really rough with my head. After they "toned" it down, they took me back to the mirror and it was still freaking blonde. Again I told them its too light so they needed to fix it. After THREE tries, my hair finally came out a decent color. But obviously since it was blonde, they couldn't tone it down to the color that I wanted anymore so I'm now stuck with light brown hair when I came in there for DEEP BROWN. This place just pissed me off. I DO NOT recommend this place for anyone. They are RUDE and the atmosphere of the shop just bothered me. I am never going back there ever again. read more

Worst Saloon. Being rotated into multiple people for a hair color. I went to this saloon all the way from Stockton and that too in a heavy rain. I was not even properly welcomed and then I was passed on to a newly hired untrained lady who started putting color into my hairs. Then another lady came who took over and started putting more color. They had put so much anti oxidant in the color and it itched all over my head so badly. After that 3rd lady came who started washing my hair. And then again 4th one came who did my hair cut. I could see black nasty stuff coming out of my hair and scalp. Very unprofessional and too much crowdy , they rotate you into different people which ends up in such a bad service. Finally had a chance to sit in Loan's chair for a trim after referring my sister and my mom here. They both loved their cut and color and I can now say that she does a great job myself. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the price is right. We had a great conversation about Hawaii but she never once got distracted and you can just tell she's good at what she does. Just moved in town about a month ago. Been delaying getting my haircut out of fear someone would F#@! it up. My crew cut ended growing into a "Don King." Spent a day reading reviews in Tracy looking for a new barber. Stumbled upon "Ryan S.'" review. Took a chance to go see Taylor. I was first to get there and then an old lady walks in. Then Taylor comes in and serves her first. WTF? In all honestly, Taylor didn't know who came first. So I ended up sitting there for about 35 minutes. There were about 4 other stylist, but since Ryan S.'s review said she knows how to blend and fade.... I waited. Well..... well worth it. She does know how to fade and blend. Actually one of the best faders. In San Jose, I had to go through 7 different barbers when my barber left to find a person who knows how to fade correctly. In Tracy, I hit the jackpot with my first try with Taylor. She also has a very good personality and very talkative. The place is nice clean, and smells good. So if you are a guy and picky how your hair looks... go to Taylor. She's that good. read more

I used to go here often but then I ended up finding a place that gave better fades. We ( my wife and I ) were burning some time while we got our oil changed so my wife wanted to get her hair blow dried, so I told her that we should go to the Taylor Salon. They said that they would do it and we actually got tended to right away. The big disappointment was when we went to pay, $25.00 yep $25.00. The price that was shown which could of been similar was a haircut and blow dry for $14.99 ( not $25.00). I am not a fan of people trying to get out of paying what needs to get paid but this case was not that at all. I told the lady that even a haircut and blow dry was $14.99 and how come they are charging $25.00 and she said that she didn't know that that's what the girl told her.
