I called Taylor trunk recently actually looking for luggage repair services. They didn't offer that but what they did give me was invaluable information. Even knowing I was not going to be a customer they spent 10 minutes with me on the phone about what my repair options might be elsewhere, and about the quality of other luggage brands today when I was ready to replace what I have now. This level of customer service is rare today. If the company isn't going to get your business, it's rare they keep you on the phone and continue spending their time helping. I was super impressed. I was looking for a last minute gift and stopped at Taylor Trunk. Cynthia and Kathleen were extremely helpful! I needed a high quality gift and that's what I would come here for because it is pricey. Needing to replace our travel toiletry bag, we drove by Taylor Trunk on a Sunday and thought we'd drop in to see what the options were. When we walked in we were greeted by a very nice lady named Kathleen (I believe, but I could be wrong) who asked us what were were looking for. We told her we were finally going to retire our storied travel toiletry bag and were looking for a replacement. Our current bag was about 15 years old and has been to Italy, France, Spain, about a dozen Caribbean islands, Mexico, Central America, Canada, South America, Hawaii, and countless US cities. We want to replace it with one that's worthy of that kind of travel. (I just made a big to-do about a travel bag. Must be a slow news day) Anyhoo, Kathleen took us directly to the travel bags. They have a pretty decent selection and we immediately homed in on a certain bag that looked like it was going to the outgoing bag proud. The color options were black and plum. Normally I'd go for black, but wifey was partial to plum. So we opened it up to see what it was about. We unsnapped the snaps, unzipped the zippers, and un-velcroed the velcro. It was a nice bag with a lot of compartments. And it was plum. (wifey won the color battle) The bag was an immediate fit, but we shopped around and chatted with Kathleen a bit more. She showed us other types of luggage and more colors than I'd ever imagined. They have A LOT of great, quality luggage at Taylor Trunk, but with that comes prices tags on some of those things that kinda made me dizzy. We saw one piece of luggage that cost, literally, a week's pay. I'm more of a modest luggage buyer because it tends to get beat up pretty easily, but that's not to take away from their selection. But seriously they do have a fantastic selection of luggage at Taylor Trunk. It's all very nicely displayed and the staff can answer any question you have. It's a great place to shop for luggage. So off we go with our new travel bag. Where we're going next we don't know (thanks COVID-19), but we can go with out brand new ... plum ... travel bag. read more

As times change and airline regulations change my luggage has needed an update. In the 60's I had HEAVY leather suitcases with straps and metal buckles. The styles of the 70's had me toting paisley cloth suitcases with zippers. The 80's came along and I graduated to a full set of Samsonite hard shell luggage. Mid 90's took me back a step to floral carpet bag luggage. All those were bought before I lived in Louisville. In the past several years I have shopped at Taylor Trunk Co. Luggage. They have a nice selection of different brands of luggage. The store has plenty in stock so you can open the luggage up and see the inside, how much it might fit, and lift it to see how much it weighs when empty. I'm happy with the purchases I've made there: large suit case, small suitcase and carry on bag. They also have a variety of travel accessories, luggage tags, locks, and gift type items. Becuase they only sell high quality brands, there seems to be no "cheap" luggage in this store. And by "cheap", I mean poor quality. The staff is very knowledgeable about the brands that they offer. I bought 3 different bags for an upcoming trip. They were all reasonably priced and have excellent quality. The salesperson spent time with me, explaining all of the features of each bag and let me thoroughly inspect each one. There was no pressure to purchase, just education about their products. I ended up purchasing the wrong size bag and brought one back to exchange and had no problems at all. It's a great locally owned shop, with wonderful products and a helpful staff. read more

It's expensive. Be prepared to pay full price. They have a large selection of Vera Bradley which is mainly why I come here. They also have lots of travel oriented products that are great to run & pick up when you forgot you would need them right before a trip. (Thanks brick & mortar stores for still being around!!!) Staff is usually helpful but I have had a snobby experience here and that is never fun. I will keep returning though because they have what I need. read more

I have owned and operated many properties in Jefferson County.My wife of 32 years passed away in 2013.She was an Angel.One of her luggage bags was damaged and I could not get it open. So I called Taylor Trunk and talked to Cheryl.She said bring it in and when Mr. Taylor is here we will try and get it open for you at no charge.I thought again I will be manipulated. I took it by the Bunsen store and dropped it off.Two days later Cheryl called and said Mr. Taylor senior had opened it and I could pick it up.Once again I thought what is the catch? Today,Weds., I went by and picked it up.OMG no charge and not only open but repaired!!!Very few owners in the USA would do this and I am very gratefull. God Bless, Charlie Zanetis read more

Their selection is lousy, and, as the person before me said, the service is below average. The first time I went there to purchase international plug adapters and they swore up and down that I needed an inverter. Fortunatley I knew better by doing my own research. They dont even understand the products they are selling. I have given them 3 chances and they have bombed each time. If you are looking for good luggage, Macys had a good selection and the representative was very knowledgable. read more
