Short version: Craig fixed a patio cover that no one else would take on. Fast, well built, friendly, and affordable. Will hire again for any projects. Long Version: One of the first things I did when we decided to start upgrading the house was to fix the patio cover. Originally I found a handyman in the neighborhood that everyone raved about. First Issue: That Handyman wasn't so handy. The framing was okay, but the panels were installed backwards, not completely fastened, and the panels became warped in less than a year. The patio cover would rattle in the wind and leak when it rained. I messaged several people over the year. Almost everyone said no, or wanted to do a 10k complete tear down and rebuild with premium materials. I wanted to give up several times. On a recent yelp search, I came across Craig Taylor, he texted me he may be able to help. I texted him back several photos. He called me to ask more questions, then determined he would need to see the project in person. Second issue: My FIL. My FIL is a great guy. He is also has some construction knowledge, and runs the backyard like a feudal lord. Everyone who usually comes over to work on the house, he has to inspect every detail, question everything, and tell them what to do. Craig handled my FIL perfectly, with charm, knowledge, and humor. Winning over my FIL is no easy feat. Craig explained to us he could try to save the panels, gave us some options that may work; we decided instead to get new panels and screws. By the time I got back from Home depot, all the panels are off. As he is installing the new panels, he also fills us in on all the mistakes the previous handyman made (used the wrong screws because they ran out of the screws with built in rubber washers, the poor quality of the previous polycarbonate panels, etc.). Craig took his time sealed all the sides with caulk, and answered aaaaallllllllllll the questions and comments my FIL had with his trademark charm, wit knowledge, and humor. The patio is now looking great, the patio is significantly cooler, and my FIL is currently enjoying his coffee outside. Craig's superior knowledge, work, and personality has completely won all of us over. We plan to hire Craig for a lot of future projects. Thanks Again! read more

It's been difficult to get a good handyman in Torrance but Craig has done a great job filling that need. He is responsive and communicates often over text and phone calls.
