Honest. Trustworthy. Fair pricing for the everyday working person…read more I have two cars. One is electric, and the other is a 2012 Ford van that has definitely seen better days. There were several reasons I bought the van. I needed something to help my mother haul things, and I also needed a vehicle that would allow me to pick up furniture and other items from Facebook Marketplace. It's old, but it works, most of the time. The other day, I had an epic radiator leak. The van overheated, and smoke and steam were billowing into the air so badly that it looked like the vehicle was on fire. It was scary, but I was able to get a tow to this mechanic, who happened to be the closest shop to where I was stranded. This mechanic could have easily taken advantage of me. I was stranded, stressed out, and completely dependent on them to tell me what was wrong. They could have told me I needed hundreds or even thousands of dollars in repairs, but they chose to do something that unfortunately seems to be becoming harder and harder to find in the auto repair business. They chose to be honest with me. They gave me a fair assessment, explained what was actually wrong, and didn't try to sell me repairs I didn't need. For that, I will not forget them. They earned something far more valuable than a repair bill. They earned my loyalty and my trust. When I find a business that treats people fairly, I'm going to tell people about it.

I am very please with the quality of work and service provided from everyone I dealt with. They are my go to auto people. This is the 3rd or 4th time I've used this company. Wilkes the previous owner retired and he really knew how to pass on the business to qualified personal. Years ago I went to Honda and received a 2000.00 quote for things that weren't broken. I stopped at Wilkes and the problem was fixed in a timely manner at a cost of 85.00. I highly recommend this company and note their honesty and high quality of workmanship as reasons I will continue getting my car fixed at this shop.

This shop is now called Jimmy's Auto Repair…read more It used to be Vaughn's Auto Shop (aka Quality Shop & Tire), and let me say this clearly, it was the ONE mechanic in the area you could actually trust. Fair prices, honest work, and a constant stream of cars coming in and out. People didn't just go there because it was convenient, they went there because they knew they wouldn't get taken advantage of. Senior citizens trusted Vaughn, including my mother, because they knew he would never rip them off or steer them wrong. Vaughn, to me, will always be one of the kindest, most decent men I've ever known. He took care of my mother and her cars for over 20 years. I remember calling from California to check on her, and every single time, she was getting solid advice, fair pricing, and real care when it came to her car. That kind of consistency is rare. I will never forget how well he and his team treated her. Fast forward to today. Vaughn passed away a few years ago, and his loss was deeply felt in this community. With him, it feels like the heart of that shop went too. The business is now run by Jimmy and his daughter. And the difference is noticeable. Where there used to be a steady flow of customers and cars waiting to be serviced, now the lot is often empty. My mother and I both had a very different experience there recently, and I'm going to be very direct about it. The treatment was rude, cold, and dismissive. It made the entire interaction very uncomfortable. My mother, who lives on a fixed income, tried to ask if there was any flexibility on pricing for a relatively small repair. The answer was no, and it felt final. No effort to work with her, no understanding of her situation. And that's where it really hits. Vaughn would have worked with her. He understood people. He understood that for someone on a fixed income, even a small unexpected expense can throw everything off for months. What used to feel like a place that cared now feels transactional and indifferent. For long-time customers who supported this business for decades, the shift is hard to stomach.

If you want a nice waiting room with coffee and doughnuts, this place is not for you. I would never have stopped there if I hadn't read many positive reviews. I almost drove by because it looked like a junk yard from the road. However, If you want quality work at a reasonable price, this is the place for you! Owner is polite, knowledgeable & honest. Employees have been with him for years.
