This was another restaurant we tried at the Sunset Beach resort location...and some mixed feelings. First of all, the restaurant had a super-cool architecture...somewhat dome-shaped. I thought it offered such great views of the beach, it was quite disappointing to learn that they're only open for dinner...when it's now too dark to enjoy the views. Anyway, we arrived via the tour bus and the golf cart (Sunset Beach is HUGE...and you basically cart around to all of its restaurants) for dinner. Again, can't recall the exact names of the foods we ordered (and too damn tired!), but we shared most of the items. Edamame was quite plain, but the Miso Soup was stellar (had a ton of Tofu and even noodles in them!). We really loved the main dishes...the Tazuna Roll and the Katsu Chicken w/ Rice and Avocado. The big disappointment was their desserts. Not sure what my husband had, but he was just OK with it...and my Tapioca dessert was just gross! It had this nasty, slimy texture (NOT the texture the Tapioca should have...should be much bouncier!). Plus, it was so plain...all same muddy green colored. Same with their Pina Colada...so plain, not even with a pineapple embellishment. As stylish as the restaurant was, the presentation of some of their foods and drinks were very basic and boring. I guess I liked the Tazuna Roll the best...the Tapiocca the least. Overall, I'd rate their foods as 3 stars, but ambiance would bring them up to at least 4 stars. read more

Stayed at a condo in Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach. We tried Tazuna on our last night at the resort, and had a wonderful time. Unfortunately, I wish we had heard of Tazuna earlier during our stay so we could go back. The wait was an hour on a Saturday night - which seemed typical for the time of year and 5 weddings occurring on-site that weekend. The staff were very friendly and the outdoor area had a nice view of the ocean.We ordered an assortment of sushi and appetizers - all which were presented well and tasted fresh and delicious. Tazuna was simply Brilliant! One of the best restaurants form our all inclusive package deal, most definitely the best meal form the package. Tazuna gets packed, so beware. Go as early as possible, this is one popular spot! I overheard the wait was as long as 2 hours for some folks that came later on in the evening. The place is big, so it's got plenty of seats. We sat outside, the flies were a bit bothersome at first. Our waitress Ana was awesome, brilliant service. She noticed us struggling with the flies and bought out flaming limes...first time I seen something like that. Brilliant! Fly's be gone! Stayed a week and only tried this place once. Big mistake! This restaurant is incredible. Incredible servers food and views. The decor is stunning. Try all the sashimi plates they have. Miso soup top notch and they had a crab roll that I will dream about for years. The wait staff treats you like royalty. We had a big tired group that didn't know what we wanted so we asked the waiter to pick for us. He gave us a little of everything and it was all good. It's a big place and a lot of ground to cover when taking orders and they are always there when you need them. Our friends got married a few nights prior and when the waiter heard he had the staff come out with a bottle of champagne and perform for us. Only thing that wasn't good was the lobster roll which was also an *upcharge. Must try if you stay at Sunset Beach. read more

This was a mediocre dinner. It was difficult because as the night went on, the restaurant continued to get more and more crowded. All we could see was a small kitchen serving over 60 tables. Service was terribly slow and we received minimal attention from our server. For food - the steamed edamame were as expected. The miso soup is not traditional miso soup as what you would expect in the US and is a significantly larger portion. The gyozas were nice and crispy with a great dipping sauce (recommend). The black sashimi was supposed to be raw fish and it was NOT raw fish (see photo - I would not recommend). Sushi rolls weren't too rice based, however nothing was great. What WAS great was the Lobster Roll - sweet, spicy, savory, crunchy. It all came together and was FANTASTIC. Don't know if I'll be back, but if so it'd be for that roll. read more

Ana gave excellent service. She took her time to answer questions about a few alcoholic beverages that we weren't familiar with but were included with our resort package. Settled on their white sambuca on the rocks and loved it! Ana was very attentive and even gave us a burner with limes to deter the flies she noticed we were swatting away from our food. The food was surprisingly great and seafood tasted fresh! We've been disappointed with Pueblo Bonito's restaurants and this was the only place that left a good impression. Absolutely loved the coriander carpaccio and decided to place a 2nd order. We used the excess sauce for our rainbow roll and sashimi. There was nothing wrong with the rainbow roll or sashimi, we just loved the coriander sauce that much. I'd get the spicy mango roll again too but the star was the carpaccio. Got here for an early dinner and seating was no problem but it quickly got busy. I'd definitely make reservations if you're coming by 6pm or later. read more

He inherently knows how to read his customers, offering us time, allergy inquiries and detailed suggestions on ordering the vast menu. Our meal was fantastic. We always come to Tazuna multiple times when we are in Cabo. The food is very good! A lot of unique flavors and dishes. We haven't had anything we don't like. Really good place to try if you are at Pueblo bonito sunset. They get pretty busy so expect to wait just a tad bit but everyone is super nice and attentive. Food: the chicken dish I can't recall the name but it was similar to orange chicken or General tsos chicken is really good. Probably our fave dish. The Cali sushi rolls were pretty good. The miso soup and ramen were good. I didn't care for the teriyaki beef. My son enjoyed his grilled salmon. The desserts were really good. Fired ice cream and side of vanilla ice cream was very tasty. They use blue bell as well. Views: really nice views as you are eating outside near the beach and a pool as well. Management: Restroom near the restaurant needs some work! It took 5-10 minutes to get a menu because they don't offer any paper menus and our phones weren't working well (we have roaming and should have been able to access WiFi). The sashimi was like nothing I've ever seen seemingly disintegrating on the plate. The curry was bland spaghetti. The teriyaki steak was good but extremely small. The miso soup was okay, the ramen soup was basically the miso broth but with some spaghetti thrown in. The rolls were meh though they looked really pretty. They lacked any real flavor. This place came highly recommended from friends/family that have stayed at the Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach in the past. We expected to have a nice fresh meal but unfortunately that wasn't the case. We are not on the all inclusive plan but still thought it'd be relatively affordable. After looking at the drink list (which had regular prices and all inclusive prices) we were stunned to see that most of their specialty cocktails were almost $40 each! I REPEAT FORTY DOLLARS!!! It ruined our entire experience from the get-go. You can get an entire bottle of tequila for the price they were charging for ONE COCKTAIL. I've been to 5 star restaurants in New York City, Boston, LA, San Francisco...ect I have never seen price gouging like this. Their entrees and main dishes were half the price of a cocktail! Make it make sense. The sushi rolls were decent. But the wasabi was straight from a tube and just awful. The portions were laughable to say the least. The gyoza's were the size of my thumbnail and that's no exaggeration. The miso soup had one cube of tofu in each bowl. The flank steak was tiny and way over priced. And after all that, we still decided to give the dessert a chance. We got churros and fried ice cream. The churros were definitely from a frozen bag and dropped into a fryer. Served with chocolate sauce in PLASTIC RAMEKINS. I don't understand how a place this expensive could serve anything in plastic. It was laughable from start to finish. That being said, the staff was friendly and our waiter Roberto was awesome. We have all been in the industry and understand that it had nothing to do with him. The ambiance was beautiful and inviting but we were there for the cuisine, not for the views. I really wanted to like this place despite the prices, but it is just unfair what they're doing to honest, hard-working people. If you're not all-inclusive stay away from this place. Despite all the great reviews this place has, I'm giving it 1 star. They should be embarrassed. I hope anyone that isn't on all-inclusive sees this before booking a reservation here. If you visit Cabo, you must come try Tazuna at Pueblo Bonito Sunset. The chef (Juan Carlos) has an amazing touch to his craft with sushi. Huge mark up on wine and one working bathroom! We ordered a $20 bottle of California wine and we paid $228 for it! La Crema! Such a joke. As we were on the "all inclusive plan" we paid nothing. The good: Service was very pleasant and attentive. Our waiter Cesar was very good. Ambiance - very nice setting near pool and lovely views. Lemon Drop Martini was VERY GOOD. Black Sashimi and Tuna/Salmon sashimi were very tasty. Spicy Tuna hand rolls were EXCELLENT. Shrimp Tempura was GOOD. The Bad: 1. Wine - we had the Cabernet which was young, flat and lacked body. 2. Sake Roll - salmon top was too thin and the roll tasteless. 3. Miso Soup - noodles in Miso soup? Really? Soup also lacked miso paste and was weak on taste as a result. 4. Noodle salad - Avoid! This was nothing like what was described on the menu just a bunch of green lettuce with some artificial crab and not very tasty at all. 5. Dessert - I had the Pineapple tapioca w/ vanilla essence. Way tooo much going on here and the conflicting flavors destroyed the dish. Wife had the wasabi and ginger ice cream. Bad consistency and mediocre taste. VALUE: I would NEVER go here if paying menu prices because all of the items were overpriced. ($7.35 for mediocre ice cream) I could get a much better and lower priced dinner in San Francisco. I cannot complain about the location, it's beautifully set up. Next to the pool too so easy access for a swim or star gaze in the hot tub. The food, well, it's ramen has udon noodles and chicken. I'm stumped at that. It was super salty too. It's like a remake of the shitty maruchan packets ppl eat in college when you got no money. The Philadelphia roll was a thick ring of fried rice and tiny inserts of tuna, cream cheese etc. I also ordered a tempura roll but got some sad California roll. The veggie dish was doused in soy sauce. So again super salty. The curry udon with shrimp looked good, smelled decent but was incredibly bland. Only 3 sad shrimp on my plate. We thought dessert might be better, sadly it was the same blandness served. The best dish was the edamame appetizer. If you like hospital food, have mo taste buds and don't care about name of dishes matching what's served this is the place for you. read more

See picture...to describe its thin slicked of pork meat about 1/4 inch thickness, floured or breaded, and over deep fried. A lot of sauce was poured and it was very sweet, chef or cook tired covering the over deep fried pork. Be aware that if it says "krab" on the menu and not "crab" it's the fake or imitation kind. My buddy got the chicken ramon noodle and chicken was dry. I suppose this place is known for there sushi rolls or sushi but my other friend got salmon nigiri and a lot of soy sauce was doused. Came for some Japanese infused food. I knew we were not going to get the full deal, because we were in Mexico. But overall the food was okay. One thing I would like to mention is that the fish could be overly salty. I think the use of soy sauce was a little too much. We ordered three different sashimi dishes, the Tazuna roll, Sake Roll, Salmon furikake, Curry udon, and the poke tostada. All of the sashimi was on the salty side since they used so much soy sauce. Some cuts were better than the others. Some fish cuts were stringy and cut the wrong way. Salmon furikake was just salmon with teriyaki sauce. Curry udon was a dry style udon, not your typical soup udon as you would imagine. The poke tostada was one of my favorite things from here, but once again, it was a bit salty. This was our favorite dining experience at Pueblo Bonito Sunset resort. The ambiance is very appealing - an outdoor restaurant located off one of the resort's pools where you can hear the waves crashing below. On the night we were here it was a full moon which really added to the charm. They have heat lamps available if the evenings are chilly. It isn't the best sushi have ever had, but it was fresh and offered some unique twists on the rolls. If we had more time at the resort, we definitely would have come back. read more

We were seated right away and there the service ended. We waited 20+ minutes for water, finally ordered drinks & dinner. The table next to us with 10 people sat down after us and were eating 20 minutes before us. I suspect they serve their all inclusive guests first? We had the same waiter as they did. He was very attentive to them. We had salmon nigiri & 3 sushi rolls. The salmon was not good. Tasted fishy & the texture was mush. The sushi was ok, not good, not great. It was definitely overpriced for the quality. After reading all of the good reviews we were highly disappointed. We will go back to Nick San for sushi when in Cabo. read more

The ambiance is nice at this place however there were some bugs since it was outside, the Sushi was mediocre, our waiter Ana was nice but she forgot to bring my wife's meal out, not sure if she forgot to put in the order or what happened. My wife is very particular with food, doesn't like raw fish and certain types of food.
