I liked the tone of the place and it seems like a lot of kids go here to hang out or study with their friends. The couch near the front is a bit dirty but they had other tables in the further back. They had two top tables and whole tables that are the size of picnic tables. It was pretty cold so I ended up ordering a hot honey green tea. I would warn to drink the tea before you leave because I brought mine in my Uber and even though the lid was on, it kept spilling from the sides. It just seemed as if the lid did not fit properly on the drink. My boyfriend got a lychee smoothie with boba and lychee jelly. He said it was pretty watered down and wasn't blended well. This place was really cute, there were plenty of seats even though Chinatown was crowded today--and just to add to the atmosphere the original Whitney Houston "My heart will go on" EP was playing in the background. I thought the texture of the bubbles were perfectly chewy and they definitely balanced the milk well with the matcha--which is rare because most places will have matcha that leaves a powdery taste in your mouth. Ah I've missed bubble tea. I've toned it down a bit since high school but had to get a little dose. I got the milk black tea with Boba. You can adjust the sweetness but I forgot to do so! I got the full sweetness but man.. It was good! The place is a nice little spot to study or work on homework. It's clean and it's a pretty cool layout with couches too. Ordered the Green Milk Tea with Herbal and Aloe Jelly, Original Milk Tea with Red Bean and Herbal Jelly, and Original Milk Tea with just Herbal Jelly. Out of those three drinks, the Original Milk Tea and Red Bean and Herbal Jelly was the best. The Green Tea did not have much green tea flavor. The milk Twas themselves were not very sweet. The red bean in the favorite one sweetened the milk tea more to my personal liking. Next time, I would ask that they add a bit more sugar so it's nice that they give you the option to do that. My cousins who live in New York highly recommended TBaar but I was disappointed the three out of four times I came here to grab a bubble tea drink. Mostly because their tapioca quality is very inconsistent - it's either a hit or a complete miss. The first time I came, I've tried the passion tea which is good but the tapioca was all clumped together. Second time I ordered the fruit tea which I didn't enjoy as much. I also got tapioca and this time, the tapioca balls were tiny. Typically they tell you this beforehand if the tapioca was different since the texture and size can impact the taste. I also tried the amazing black milk tea which had more of a coffee taste. It was good but I prefer Chatime's roasted milk tea. I would return to Tbaar if I was in old Chinatown and didn't want to walk to Chinatown square for the other bubble tea drink options. read more

I got a large green tea milk tea with grass jelly and no sugar. The green tea flavor was barely there. I tried my boo's lychee smoothie and his was not mixed well but the lychee flavor was decent. Also, the tapioca were small and undercooked. I also tried a slice of the matcha crepe cake and I enjoyed the creaminess of it but again, lacked on the matcha flavor. Our large drinks were $4 each but our total was around $18, so the price of that slice of cake was steep af. I came with a large group late Sunday and they churned out our orders in a timely fashion. While visiting Chinatown, I was overwhelmed by all of the bubble tea options and stopped in Tbaar on a whim after hearing their music from the street. The atmosphere was inviting and customers were socializing while playing Jenga and enjoying their purchases. The customers base was diverse and primarily younger in age, although there are some families as well. I ordered an aloe grapefruit tea with lychee jellies, and my boyfriend got a passion fruit tea minus the boba. We both thought our teas were ok. We decided to come back after dinner so I could get the 'rose garden' rolled ice cream for dessert. I love rose flavored... everything! I thought the ice cream was good, but it could have used just a little more rose flavor as it was somewhat subtle. (You can never have enough rose!) My boyfriend decided to try a different rolled ice cream spot for dessert, and my portion from Tbaar was just a little smaller than the ice cream he got from one of their competitors. Order jasmine honey tea iced and it was good but my gf hot drink was super super sweet not normal sweet but super sweet and she didn't even ask for extra sugar. It was also a hot drunk and usually when you get a hot drink you should get like a lid to sip not a cup cover with the boba wrap lid and a straw. Kung fu tea is my favorite all time milk tea. Like good authentic milk tea you'd get in HK good. But the thing about kungfu is they only takes cash, and they are kind of pricey, you'd be spending close to $5 on a large milk tea, which gets hefty. I really wanted some bubble tea today and i didnt have enough cash, saw that this new place opened up, from the outside it looked appealing enough. It's pretty spacious, the store goes pretty far back. They also take cards, which is a plus. Size wise, you get the same portion as kung fu. You walk in and this place is blasting chinese music. Now to the flavor, i got their classic milk tea, it looked more promising than it is. Someone on here said no taste, i'd have to concur. It's not terrible but the flavors are night quite right.
