First, Taylor is personable, and pleasure to work with, honest, fair and wants what's best for all parties involved. He does a good job working with you, has referrals where he feels extra support could be needed (landscape designers, finance options, etc.) and suggests great sources for picking materials (stone work, substrates, and plants). He let's you know about alternatives available based on what you want and his experience. He offers good perspectives and provides cost conservative options as well. He does a good job walking you through a balance for your budget, not overselling you for his gain, but also direct if your dreams come with a price that might run you out of your budget. Second, his crew is amazing!! His lead, Martin, is a dream to work with. Whenever we wanted something just so, he always agreed and found a way to make it happen, never once making us feel our request was too much or annoying. If he ran into roadblocks, he brought us out to review them and consider options if the ground/slope or something was impacting our ask. His crew was respectful, used their portable facilities, and did an almost perfect job picking up after themselves each day. Third, the patience of all people involved was commendable. Taylor, his crew, and his subcontractors from concrete to electrical were very respectful, communicated well about their portion of the project and answered questions/addressed concerns as they came up. Our project did run over on time, but it was due to weather constraints and unforseen issues with our terain on a hillside. Surprisingly and as much as safely possible, the crew worked on inclination days to try to meet the quoted deadline as much as possible. When they couldn't come, that was well communicated. Now, everyone can use some constructive feedback and the one thing that stood out to us was that we would've like receiving the couple of supplement bid items we asked about a little sooner. You need to keep in mind that if you ask his crew to deviate from your original scope, they will move forward on it and you will have to pay for the change, as you should. So, if you're uncertain how/if your requests might impact your scope/bid pricing, loop in Taylor before his crew. The only other pickup we experienced was picking out materials and the stone place had put them back before Taylor picked it up. When picking your own materials, we found we had to check-in with Taylor a couple times regarding reminders for that. Despite our constructive feedback, considering the overall project and experience as well as our experience with other contractors, TC Landscaping gets a solid 5 star from us. We will consider using them again for our needs and referred them to family. His team fell these multiple trees at a fair price. Cleaned up the mess. Even piled up burn piles for me to burn at a later date when it is safe to do so. No structure damage or property damage. Taylor and his crew are professional and good at what they do. They were efficient and finished the job on time. I am giving 2 star for the after service. Do not expect any communication after you hand over the payment. They told us someone would come back in a few weeks to check on the grass and adjust the sprinkler system. 5-6 weeks passed, and no one came. We finally texted Taylor as a patch of our grass was dying. No response. We texted again a week later and finally a request to show him some pictures. Again no response after that. 2 weeks later, he apologized and said someone will for sure come in next few days. No one came. We waited another 2 weeks to text him again, and so far.....radio silence. Bottom line is, if after care service is important to you, we would not recommend TC Landscape. You are on your own as soon as you hand over the check. We would not hire them again. read more

Our pool builder recommended Taylor's company to handle the removal of our sprinkler system in preparation of our recent pool build. As a result of our experience with TC Landscape Construction, Inc., my husband and I hired them to landscape both our backyard and front yard. Taylor and his crew were efficient, responsive with a good work ethic; and each one of the team members had a positive attitude with a smile each day they came to work. They were easy to communicate with (i.e. text, email, and phone). It is rare to find contractors like Taylor (owner) who honor their verbal commitments and have such an engaging personality. I was most impressed with Martin, crew manager. Martin constantly verified our design wishes at each stage of landscaping (i.e. locations for 8 trees, shape of lawn, etc.). Lastly, Taylor (owner) returned a couple of weeks after the project completion to add the final touches (large rocks) to our front yard. He takes care of his workers and manages a great team. Taylor, Martin and his crew are incredible. First and foremost, they are reliable. We had contracted them to do a major backyard renovation with lots of retaining walls. They were at the job site every day, all day. They did incredible work on our backyard. The retaining walls look amazing. Secondly, they are an absolute pleasure to interact with. Taylor is such a great person, we really consider him a friend now. We've had friends with horror stories about contractors taking money, doing half the job, hardly showing up and leaving and that's not what you're going to get with Taylor and his crew. Taylor and his crew were awesome. Very professional and efficient the entire time. They even showed up exactly when they would which is hard to come by in the construction world. I was impressed at the level of detail and care they all took in making our yard bring the curb appeal. It went from dirt and leaves to peaceful in the matter of a couple of days. We had over 50 plants planted as well as an irrigation system put in for our front and backyard. Something I also liked is Taylor is a local guy. TC Landscape Construction recently finished a 5000 sq ft project on my backyard and I am beyond pleased with the result! They took a neglected, weedy area that was a true eyesore off our raised back deck and turned it into a beautiful rock bordered garden with meandering paths, a deck to surround our little pool, and erected a cute privacy fence. I love gazing out over it now even without any plantings in it yet! Taylor and his assistant Letitia came out for a free consultation within a couple of days of my contacting him (all contacts are handled by Taylor the owner). We had a written proposal and estimate within 48 hours, and the crew of about eight with Martin in the lead arrived with equipment and materials the following Monday. (Lucky for us the weather prevented them from beginning work on a previously contracted site this winter). Within two weeks all of the grading, drainage, irrigation, rock placement, raised bed planter, decomposed granite walkways, topsoil installation for the gardens, decking and fence were completed. Martin and the crew had us check the progress a few times, and Taylor came out to keep track of the work and our satisfaction every few days. My husband and I were very impressed with the hard work done by the team, but we also noted how each of the employees seem to take pride in their work and all seemed to get along well with each other. I believe that is a reflection of very good leadership, and a company that values and rewards their employees. That kind of company keeps everyone happy -- employees and customers alike! Taylor did a fine job on our backyard in 2013 but then when we had him do the retaining wall for the side yard garden boxes in 2014 the wall collapsed 3 yrs later. Turns out he didn't install drains and the erosion coupled with the lack of steel reinforcement caused the wall to come down. Fortunately no one was injured. I tried to reach him to help us but he never returned my emails or texts. read more
