Brad was our representative today, we were there to switch carriers from T-Mobile. during our time…read morethere Brad quoted a reasonable rate, then went silent and increase the rate by $60 per month. In one hour he spoke perhaps 20 words. The store looked poorly managed and staff was poorly trained. Needless to say we wasted 1 hour and bought nothing. Even if we got a good deal, the vibe was bad so I'm not sure we would have bought.

I had talked to an actual Verizon person and he told me I could get an Iphone 16 for zero dollars for 3 years and then just change my plan from a welcome to ultimate. Would add a few dollars to my bill, but what the heck. I went to this store by my house and was met with a very snarly woman who said I couldn't do that. There were no 16's with a promotion. Remember TCC is independent of Verizon, so they have their own agenda. I ended up purchasing a new 16 and just added a few bucks to my existing plan. She was going to transfer my old info into the new phone but it costs $80.00. There is a big sign there stating that price, but the transfer is really only $49.99 and the balance is a redux water protection membership plan. You don't find out about that until you get the receipt. When I left my phone with them to transfer the info she stated she would get my screensaver and case. We never talked about me getting those so being an older person, just thought it came with a new phone. Wrong. When I got back to pick up the phone I was presented with a $207 bill when I expected an $80 bill. I asked why and she said did I think that you get something from the store for free, meaning the screen protectors and case were not free. I told her I never asked for those things. Long and short, I paid the bill and my son went back this morning and was able to get refund on the case only. Screen protectors were $76 that I had to pay for at this moment.

Mediacom - 76mb/s on a hard wired 1gig service... WTF?!

Since relocating to Delaware, we have been using Mediacom Xtream for TV & Internet for about 14…read moremonths. Prior to that we had used Verizon Fios and Comcast/Xfinity. During the majority of the time we have had Mediacom, the quality of TV and Internet performance has been very good to excellent, and the quality of technical support has been excellent. Pricing was slightly higher than we have paid for similar service in the past, but comparable. However, since our initial honeymoon period ended (after 12 months) the price has jumped by 20%, and the quality of service has plummeted. In the past week, there were two days when Internet service was completely down for several hours, and two additional days when it was out repeatedly for multiple short 10-15 minute periods throughout much of the day. Technical support is still very good, but on a house call to "upgrade" my service a couple months ago, the tech was going to replace my TV set top box with a new wireless-only box (i.e. no hardwire Ethernet connection) and I declined--choosing to keep my current hardware instead. While going wireless/WiFi is very versatile and convenient when it is working well, it makes no sense at all for Mediacom to abandon the Ethernet connection--which is by far the fastest, best, and most reliable interface--altogether. That technical decision by Mediacom is bound to cause them headaches in the future and result in a long term decrease in customer satisfaction. I am glad I was able to stop the tech before making that change on my home network. If the price did not increase by as much as it did after the first year (sort of a backhanded anniversary "gift" from Mediacom!) I would find it easier to overlook the performance issues and the attempt to implement an arguably unwise technical migration (to a wireless-only network) on my network. Unfortunately, in coastal Delaware there is currently no competition for the internet and TV business. Still, I I would hesitate to recommend Mediacom with any degree of enthusiasm, and I will be looking to replace them at the earliest opportunity.

The worst place ever. Login to account, store a payment card, calls and says no card on file,…read morerepeat 4-5 more times. No one on the call can save payment. Finally just gave up and let it lapse. Mailing the equipment back as soon as possible. It's almost unbelievable how stupid their policies and rules are. You have to beg them to be on auto pay.
