Whenever I'm visiting the South, one of the first things I need is to get back to my roots and have a bowl of gumbo. Stopped at TC's on my way through and was pleasantly surprised. One of the better gumbos I've had in a while. Roux was nice and dark but enough stock was used to give a nice texture, not artificially thickened like many other places. Lots of fresh tomatoes, at least they looked like fresh based on the way they were cut, and plenty of large pieces of okra, and great flavor. IMO, whoever came up with this recipe knows how to cook. A couple days later I had another bowl at a fancier restaurant with fancier ingredients at twice the price, and it wasn't nearly as good. I'll be back at TC's next time I'm in town. read more

We were travelling through the area and were looking for some breakfast. I spotted this place on the side of the road in Navarre and immediately pulled over to grab a bite to eat, because it just fit exactly what we were looking for. We were seated right out front along the road, but road noise was minimal. Our waitress Faith took our drink order and got them out to us quickly. I ordered the corned beef hash with some eggs over easy, which were good. The corned beef is not your typical version, as the corned beef is freshly cut and seemed very light on the salt. However, the fun part of the story was about half way through our meal, where one of the young (probably about sixteen) servers came up to our table trying to serve us with the order for the next table over. He put the plate down on our table, at which point the sausage patty on the plate kind of fell off of the plate. Our waitress then came up to him and told him he had the wrong table, so he picked up the patty and put it back on the plate, then picked the plate back up to give to the other table, at which point the sausage patty again fell off the plate onto our table again... however, he was completely oblivious to this and served them the now incomplete plate while we just kind of stared at the patty on our table while stifling our own laughter at the situation. To us, it was just funny at that point because of just how oblivious he was. We let Faith know about it, and she cleaned things up and got a new sausage patty out to the other table, which was good. Kind of disappointing and very all fried American fare. We were hoping to get their breakfast menu, but they stop that at 11. I had the mahi mahi poboy. The fish didn't seem fresh and the bread was not toasted and just giant in size. The tomato seemed stale and the lettuce was wilted. The onion rings were great though. Rags had the tacos and they were average. The chips that came with it were good and the salsa seemed like it came out of a can. Hanna's lobster quesadilla was good, very filling and had smoked Gouda inside it. I didn't like the smoked flavor, but she did like her food. Not likely to come back, unless I had no other choice. Our server was nice, though! FYI - their mixed drinks use wine and wine coolers and not real alcohol, so drink at your own risk! read more

We tried this as soon as we got to Navarre, after a day traveling. We had a large party and were seated quickly. We ordered the wings as our appetizer and they were very good. We ordered a poboy, burgers, shrimp, The shrimp was good, big portion. Burgers were big but they weren't really seasoned. One of them, bread fell apart half way through, bread had gotten soggy from ketchup, mustard I suppose. read more

Wings we're great, burger was soggy, but it was the service that gives this place 2 stars. Sitting outside on the porch and I had a bird poop on me and in my food. I brought it to the attention of our waitress (Buffy) and her response was, "that's the price you pay for living in Florida." WHAT? I don't enjoy making peoples lives harder so I left it and ate around the bird poop. I figured the response would be to immediately take the food and bring a new burger and fries, but she just looked at me like "sucks to suck." let's just start off by saying if you have a food allergy be careful. My husband and I decided to share entrees. We ordered the lobster quesadilla and fish tacos. The lobster quesadilla clearly stated it had mango salsa. We informed the waitress that I have a serious allergy to mangos and needed to make sure there are no mangos. We then ordered the fish tacos. I specifically asked the waitress if the fish tacos had mango. She said, "No." and my husband asked her to make sure there were no mangos. Once our entrees arrived, one had mango and one did not. Luckily my husband and caught it before I took a bite. So they needed to take it back and make fresh entree without mango. That was not the only issue we experienced with our server, my husband asked twice for a drink without ice and both times he received a drink with ice. If we were able to give a service rating it would be a 1 star! Let's talk food...the lobster quesadilla was topped with a spicy cream sauce that was delicious. There was lots of lobster and sautéed peppers, yum! The fish tacos weren't as good but we don't know if that was from the rush job because it had to be remade. It was a filet, blackened, topped with a sweetish slaw. Not the best we've ever had. Atmosphere is definitely casual. If you're looking for A/C, this isn't the place for you. It is outside dining, even inside. Update: About 45 minutes after leaving the hives set in and I was having an allergic reaction. Luckily, it wasn't severe enough to cause my throat to start to swell. read more
