Terrible company. No communication, overpriced repair in house folks. They over charge their landlords for repairs and they do a terrible job on repairs. They came in to repair drywall but did not sand, prime and paint. They lost my lockbox code, and had to send someone out to cut my lockbox. Then they didn't properly secure my back door and my house was left wide open. They tried to charge me for faulty work. Now they won't take me off their email list until I "pay" for work they did a crap job on. Terrible. Don't sign up with these guys! The lease up agent did communicate through the process at all. I would not recommend this company for anyone. Inquired about one of their properties and the person I dealt with was very rude, judgmental, and condescending. I was grilled by one of their employees (Tyler I believe) on how my choice to live in the area would not benefit me. Little did he know that I work in real estate and that is called steering, which is illegal. If I'm inquiring with you - a leasing agent, about a property, it's to live there not anything else. It should be your job to sell me a lease, not project your opinion on where I should live. After checking out the property myself, I confirmed that he indeed lied in our exchange with the excuse on why I wouldn't be able to live there and was steering the entire time. I recommend that prospects highly think twice before considering this company and any of its properties as a suitable option. read more

Absolute Nightmare! Beware! Here is a nice list of reasons why you should not rent from them. -Be careful! In their lease they make tenants responsible for the first $100 of any repairs at the apartment!!!! -Before I even moved in, I mailed my certified check. They cashed it but claimed it had never been received. They argued with me and the teller at PNC for two days of this. Woman at TCS was very rude. -Heater broke in the winter two times and air conditioner broke for two months of summer. Landlord was very bad at responding and sending someone in a reasonable amount of time. Unwilling to provide another form of air conditioning. I went two months this summer without air conditioning, but HEY they gave me a fan to push around the 95 degree weather, how nice! -Air conditioner broke and leaked all over my bed. Yet again a repair man was called and "fixed the problem" He didn't fix the problem. The repair man came a total of SIX times over summer to "fix" the AC which would break the next day. -First day moving in, told I'm not allowed to prop open the door even while carrying items in alone. -First day moving in, told I'm not allowed to leave my bike in the stairwell for 15 minutes while I carry in other items. -Washer and dryer in basement were very expensive to run -Not allowed to use the front stairwell for some reason. (very inconvenient) -Employees are rude in general. We paid first and last months rent up front. During last month of rent we received emails and phone calls threatening that we owed money for the last month even though we paid it up front. "Daniel" called me leaving a very snarky voicemail claiming we needed to talk because I "owed money." Once he realized they made a stupid mistake he never called again. This was honestly just funny and embarrassing for the company and proved how unorganized they are. -Half of the outlets did not work in the apartment. -We got an email demanding that we clean the place so that the landlord could come take pics for new tenants. Not sure if they are allowed to tell us how clean to have the place. It was completely livable with 3 grad students living in there. read more

This is by far the worst company I have ever rented from from. Their response time is terrible and they are completely neglectful to the problems that we have had. We have had nothing, but issues with our property since the day we moved in. We have emails and documentation of how neglectful this company has been. We have paid our rent on time each month even with all of the issues and they have the nerve to want to raise our rent even though they are not holding up their end of the bargain. Can we give less than 1 star? I was desperate to find somewhere to live because me and my child were not safe. The house looked good and we put in the application. We moved in and see a can of bed bug spray in the closet. 1st red flag. The heat goes out on December 2019, contact TCS - nothing. I've called, email, texted and still nothing. My lease is about to be up and I'm over it. They only contact you when it's convenient for them or they want money. Never again. read more

TCS collects the money and rents out units in a building I previously lived in. Most of my issues are with the owner of the building, but I also had a poor experience with TCS. First of all, TCS charged us $100 PER MONTH to pay our rent online, something I have never heard of in my life.I do not know if they do this for all units/buildings, but I wish someone had forewarned me of this tidbit because $100/month makes a huge difference. Second, Danielle Howard the realtor from TCS gave us less than 24 hours notice before showing our apartment, and appointments would show up an hour late and she would still just walk right into our apartment with no notice. She is unprofessional and rude. While I was sitting on my couch I heard her telling the potential tenants that our unit doesn't "show well" and she later texted us to tell us that we should lock our cat away when she has showings. She called my boyfriend by accident, and so he called her back only to hear her ream him out about how rude it is to call her and that HE should be more careful about who he butt dials. Very unpleasant lady. I can't speak of their management services because the owner of our previous building hired private management. read more

Terrible. Since October 1, we've waited to move out and decided just a few months after moving in we would not renew our lease. We moved in to find supplies laying around, issues still unattended to, and no instructions on how to even get in. Oh, and I wasn't even able to move in on October 1 because despite a gentleman named Rodney's claims, the place wasn't entirely ready for move-in. He is disrespectful and beyond frugal; it took 2 months for a hole in our daughter's ceiling to be fixed despite our informing him she's asthmatic and anemic. Maintenance requests cannot possibly be taken seriously as we've gotten vague responses to inquiries and it just seems TCS is more interested in collecting rent money than providing a clean, safe place for people to live. If there is a TCS employee whose job it is to respond to these reviews, please spare us the contrived mess about wishing our experience were a better one and put that same effort into ensuring your properties are inhabitable and the people managing them aren't so casually incompetent. read more

TCS manages the Condominum Arts where I lived for few months. I am going to try to be neutral and review the experience I had with TCS. They tried to charge me a fine of $250 dollars for moving before paying the moving fees (plus $250 dollars moving fees) which was $500 and I refused to pay the fine because I've been informed to pay that the same day that my contract started, so they want me to not move my stuff when I am already paying the rent, that's not logical. My studio had the fridge broken when I came, and I had to wait many days to receive a new one and the TCS broker ANTHONY told me he was going to leave it at the front desk and that I would have to move it by my self to the apartment and when I have asked him that I would need a technician to move it and to plug it he stop replied me for days. You have to know that MICHAEL at the front desk is a rude guy. Also, the building has terrible plumbing system, and one day the below apartment had a flood that apparently came from above (my apartment) when I had no flood in mine. And they accused me to be responsible for that because I would have to notify that I hear a weird sound coming from the plumbing the day before. They said they might charge me for the repair cost for both apartments which was $445. Also you will have to know that they are going to charge you $180 for cleaning fees, and this is what they did when the apartment was absolutely clean after spending two days cleaning it. Also, there was no transparency I had no possibility to contact the owner. TCS, When you threat people in a bad manner don't expect to them to provide a good review and I want all the people know how you treated me so that it could help other people to avoid to have the bad experience that I had. What goes around comes around and it is all about karma. It is your choice to chose TCS I am just sharing with you guys my experience. PEACE. read more

Also a quick look at similar responses to other complaints on here shows that management is trying their best to sweep their criminal incompetence under the rug. Thanks Ben for reminding me how happy I am to no longer work with your company.* Beware - unethical and borderline illegal practices here. I used them to manage a house I own. Here's my experience: 1. The "cleaners" they sent to the house on their insistence stole cleaning supplies and drapes without explanation or apology. 2. We were forced to accept renters we did not want (criminal records) under threat of TCS letting it sit and mothball. These renters paid their deposit (which we saw no part of), then backed out at the last minute. Three months wasted when the house could've been on the market. 3. In the end rented it for $500 less than optimal because of the debacle above 4. Accounting Discrepancies every month (a few dollars and cents here and there) meant that I had to go through the statements with a fine tooth comb to make sure we got our full disbursement (errors were only ever in their favor) 5. Impossible to get hold of anyone at the office because the mailboxes were consistently full. The only way I got anyone to call me back was by finding the personal # of the CEO and calling him. 6. Annual fee (which was disclosed in the original contract as "possible") wiped out the small amount of profit we had made in a year. I can only assume that they treat renters similarly or worse. Avoid TCS like the plague. read more

Everything is straightforward and laid out for you making it an easy choice to work with them. They even have the rental application online and all the FAQs you can think of to help guide you through the process of renting. TCS is managing my property at Cityview. They are super responsive and courteous. Gaurav is very nice, smart, professional, and hardworking. For property management, they try to manage your property like it is their own. Their fees are also competitive. Lastly, a suggested room for improvement is to work on communication between their team members. This is challenging to do with a fast growing company that deals with many different types of people each day, but Gaurav can do it. read more

If you're thinking of using TCS as your Property Management company don't walk away from that idea.......RUN!! We have endured 2 years of hell with them from the beginning. (It was too complicated at the end of the first year for us to get away from them). They charged us for repairs done to the house to get it rent ready which were not carried out. Some of the repairs were shoddily done. You will never receive a receipt from them, so you never know where your money is going. In the end, we had to contact our tenant directly as they were unable to communicate effectively with her or us. Once we did that, we found out from her that there were many problems with the house which we were unaware of. E.g. the back door had never locked!!! So please don't always blame the landlord for not responding to your needs, because TCS may not advise the landlord. We had to repeatedly correct mistakes in invoices, emails would go unanswered, and if we questioned anything we were blamed for making the mistake. Nothing is ever their fault. ...and deafening silence when it is or they react like spoilt children. In the end, because we kept asking where our June rent payment was (rent payments are frequently late), they broke our management contract and left us without any management of our property or tenant. As we don't live in Philadelphia, it was extremely problematic. One of the few people who was pleasant to deal with long term was Alicia, and she very smartly left. There is a pretty high turnover of staff in the accounting dept. A recent finance person lasted about a month, a pity because he was really nice and professional. They spoke extremely rudely to our tenant and accused her of things she didn't do. They treat landlords and tenants equally poorly. Don't have anything to do with them. read more

Horrible experience. They had my security deposit many months after I should've gotten it back. I contacted numerous people, numerous times, in numerous ways asking for help and was ignored every time. I reached out to the landlord who told me that TCS was informed I should receive my security deposit back and there was nothing else he could do. It wasn't until a complaint was officially filed with the attorney general that anyone contacted me to give me an answer. No matter why I wasn't given my deposit back until now, I was not communicated with correctly or efficiently and that is the issue at hand. -Jake read more

The absolute WORSE realtor company I've ever dealt with in my entire life. Where do I start.....my landlord came into my apartment when ever he felt like it with absolute no warning whatsoever. I went four days with no water because he decided that he didn't want to pay the water bill. When I flushed my toilet on a few different occasions sewage would come up through my tub. Through all of this they were not understanding at all and tried to make me feel as if everything was my fault. I'm now currently fighting with them to return my security deposit that I still have yet to receive and it's going on it being over a month late. They keep giving me the run around and saying my check has been mailed out for weeks now and nothing is there. I am now in the works on taking them to court. Save yourself and DO NOT rent from them. It's nothing but a years worth of a headache. They are all disgusting people.They are very rude and very unprofessional. If I could give 0 stars I would. I never write reviews, but they are absolutely terrible. If you are a tenant and pay your water bill through their portal, immediately go down to the water company and get a copy of your bill and double check your charges- I guarantee you are being double and triple charged. I have literally chased them for over a year, every single month, for them to put the water bill on my portal so I can pay on time- and somehow they seemingly cant get the bill amount right, wont allow you to change the water to your name, and wont allow you to pay the water company directly, and does not pay the bill on time so then you are also paying late fees from the water company. Alicia from finance is no help, she avoids your questions, cant give you any answers, rude- and has enough nerve to say" just let our departments handle it" when clearly the "departments " have no idea what they are doing. Tamir must be a supervisor, after months of heckling he refunded money owed back to us for being triple charged, but did not offer any resolution as it is still an ongoing issue... This is a terrible company to rent from. My landlord sold the place after a few month of me moving in i was never late with rent. This place was listed as a four bedroom and two bath, well I was unable to use the fourth bedroom and second bath due to heating and repairs that needed to be done the water bill was like $300 every month. On top of that my ceiling started leaking in my room and peeling paint everywhere. This place became a nightmare!!! I even got the floors done when I first moved in my recent landlord agreed to it and that he would adjust my rent. I end up paying over $2000 to me it was okay because I did not like the floors I have before and after pictures. Tcs seen my review and tried to say i had to many people and it was a three bedroom and one bath which is not true!! I do not understand why they would lie!! It is all about money to them no respect for tenants. I have been at my current place since March 2018 paying a higher rent five bedrooms and two baths and I love it my rent is payed 20 days in advanced! And the other home has been boarded up since I moved out??? I left it in a better condition then it was because I had the floors done by Empire!! TCS Management has so much wrong with them. I live out of town, so I need them to be my eyes and ears on my rental property. To name a few problems I've had with them: When my tenant moved out, they had someone take a video of the house, for which they charged me $125. The video made it look like everything was okay in the house. They didn't tell me that the electricity was off (it shouldn't have been) and that the video was taken without lights on. When I finally found out that was the lights were off, TCS never took the responsible step of admitting they were wrong, or even taking a new video, and they continue to try to charge me for the video. Second, I did not renew my contract with them (as of Jan 20, 2016), yet they have not yet refunded my balance to me. Third, when my tenant moved out, they were slow to move on getting a new tenant in there. Fourth, they told me they were evicting said tenant back in September. When I asked for an update a few weeks after the target eviction date, they said they didn't need to evict after all. They had given me no updates on their own. Fifth, they claimed to have made a deposit in my account for my monthly revenue, but took OVER A MONTH to research where they actually put the money. Sixth, they claimed to renew my renter's certification, took money from me, but didn't actually renew it. Finally, they have never taken responsibility or admitted doing anything wrong. They are often slow to respond to emails, and if they don't like what I'm saying will simply not reply at all. There have been times they've charged me for things that they shouldn't have. I was told by one employee that they are told to never admit when they're wrong. This has been the worst company I have ever dealt with in my life. No exaggeration. read more

Terrible company to do business with. I hired them to manage a property, which I SORELY regret. First they did a terrible job cleaning the house, yet charged me $285 for what looked like just sweeping. The baseboards weren't even wiped! They were supposed to replace lightbulbs, and take care of the yard. Months later and their realtor is telling me that he can't figure out why the place isn't renting, we need to drop the price. So we drop the price, and it still isn't renting. I go by, the lawn hasn't been cut in over a month, and there's no light in the house because the bulbs are all burnt out. Gee, could that be why it isn't renting? All the times I asked the realtor "is there anything we can do", he never thought to suggest "maybe cut the lawn and screw in some lightbulbs...". So I yelled at them and got them to go over and cut the lawn. Checked the place afterwards, the lawn looked even worse than before! They missed huge areas, didn't do the trim, and must have gone over the very long grass at the highest speed possible. I paid someone else to fix it. I spoke with the neighbors about my trouble, they reported that people were occasionally waiting outside to see the house, but the TCS realtor would either be extremely late (30-45 minutes they said), or just never show up. Some people stopped by who said that they had been trying to see the house for WEEKS, but TCS would not return their calls, and when they did the realtor told them "I'm not going back out there". According to them (and why would they lie) TCS flatly refused to show the house. Bottom line, they cost me multiple months rent, as well as had me lower the price for no reason. Signing up with TCS cost me a lot of money and aggravation. To make matters worse, they're refusing to refund money in my account that I had over paid unless I give them my bank account information, and are continuing to add charges. Be very wary of doing business with these guys. read more
