I started out with this company back in Nov 2024. I surprised my former boss for her birthday. Since then I have bought about 10 women on the Tea Around Town excursions. Everyone loved it. I should get stock on this company I love it so much. Each women I brought tickets for had never heard of this company, but ended saying they would do it again. Kudos to those who have discovered it. Giving two stars because I gave tea around town Chicago 2 tries and both times disappointed me for different reasons. I decided to give them the second try, after seeing them featured in March on a WGN Around Town segment by my Fav Anna B. who asked ALL the right questions. I then learned exactly how abbreviated my tour was when they traveled to Museum Campus, featuring some of the Best Views of Chicago's Skyline. 1. Feb 2026 event, the bus was decorated inside with Fall Foliage and colors, instead of the advertised pink/white tea party vibe. Tour started about 40 minutes late, waiting on guests to arrive and some still never showed. During the tour, the bus stalled, completely shut down at least three times, further abbreviating the tour. We didn't receive the correct number of tea tastings advertised and we weren't offered honey or sweeteners. The bus abruptly returned to home base early to avoid shutting down again. Tour Team was engaging, entertaining, knowledgeable of the city, and amazing! Truly tried to make the best of a bad situation. 2. May 2026 event, received an email that the tour would be delayed, less than an hour before the scheduled departure. Bus was beautifully decorated and the Tour Team was incredible. We came prepared this time with fresh lemon, honey sticks, and jars. Very noticeable when we arrived, no souvenir cups. Teas were served in white paper cups which prompted me to ask if they would have the souvenir boxes at the end of the tour for our leftovers. No cute souvenir boxes either. Still didn't get what we paid for which is disappointing. I believe we did get the entire tour this time and we came prepared with our own extras. Not sure if other cities have better success but Chicago may need to press pause, work out the kinks, and come back strong in true CHICAGO form! read more

I only wish I could select a negative star, this wasn't even a one-star experience, really it was a negative 5-star farce. Marketed as a premier afternoon tea experience aboard a charming double-decker bus in Phoenix, this event promises refinement, comfort, and indulgence. What it delivers instead is a logistical fiasco wrapped in stale bread and served lukewarm. Let's begin with the arrival--because every "luxury" experience should apparently start with a parking nightmare. Guests are instructed to meet at what can only be described as a random curbside pickup location across from an already overcapacity public park. Parking? Nonexistent. Convenience? Laughable. Guests are left circling, scrambling, and ultimately abandoning any expectation of a smooth start before standing in the Arizona sun with no guidance, no accommodations, and--most critically--no water. Yes, in Phoenix. No water. After baking on the curb like forgotten props, guests finally board--only to wait an additional 20 minutes before even receiving tea. When it does arrive, it's less "high tea" and more "soda fountain afterthought": a cold raspberry liquid devoid of distinction, care, or even basic refreshment. The food, however, is where this experience fully abandons any pretense of quality. Advertised as a curated selection of savory and sweet delights, what appears instead is a collection of visibly stale, room-temperature items, including something inexplicably served in what can only be described as a crusty hot dog bun. One item was so unidentifiable--and inedible--it crossed from disappointing into genuinely concerning. This is not "afternoon tea." This is neglect plated as cuisine. And for this? $100 per ticket. Calling this "VIP" is not just misleading--it's offensive. Service fares no better. The staff, while outwardly apologetic, demonstrate no capacity or authority to resolve issues. The "server" appears entirely untrained, lacking even the fundamentals of hospitality. As for the promised "live entertainment"? Guests are treated to two off-key songs delivered by the same unqualified staff member--a moment so awkward it feels less like entertainment and more like a cry for help. Meanwhile, the bus ride itself introduces a new layer of concern: safety. The driver's erratic handling--mounting curbs, nearly colliding with multiple vehicles, and forcing pedestrians to actively avoid the bus--turns what should be a leisurely city tour into a rolling liability. By the time the experience ends, one is left not with fond memories, but with a lingering question: how does something so poorly executed continue to be marketed as "luxury"? I contacted Tea Around Town to schedule my 54th birthday celebration in March. I immediately was connected to a group sales agent who was very responsive until the end of January. I sent several emails to the agent and the general email address. I looked at the emails for a phone number but one was not provided. I finally found the parent company's number and called. At first they could not find my contract when it was located the time I wanted to reserve was booked. I was frustrated and furious. I was offered a new time for the same date. I asked can I give a deposit. I was told no I had to pay in full. I was not offered a new contract. I was given a 5% discount code and told to collect my guests' money to secure their seats. I asked if I could be given a payment link so they could go to the site and pay directly. I was told they do not do that. You can only purchase tickets online in multiples of two. I had 23 guests and many were purchasing one ticket. When I had finally collected everyone's money the date was now fully booked. The company could not offer any resolution and now my birthday was ruined. Apparently, the sales agent I was working with was FIRED and no one was checking her email or re-routing emails sent to her. The representative I finally spoke to was clueless that this is something that should be done. What kind of professional business does not do that? Due to their error I should have been offered a secure reservation. If not, at least since the company had my contact information I should have been notified that the time slot I was offered as a consolation was filling so I could have at least secured seats for my guests who I received their funds. If I could give this company a -10 I would. I am so upset! read more

This review is way overdue. We went to Tea Around Town over a year ago during the summer, and it recently popped back into my mind. Overall, we had a good time. Check in was quite smooth, and the pickup location was close to the New York Public Library, which made it easy to find. The bus also arrived right on time, which I always appreciate. We purchased the first tier tickets, not the most expensive option, and I did notice that seating seemed to be assigned based on ticket level. We were seated toward the back end of the bus. If seating location matters to you, that is definitely something to consider when booking. I also noticed the bus itself felt slightly run down. Part of the ceiling looked like it had cardboard or a temporary patch, which was not the nicest detail. Aside from that, though, the ride itself was pleasant, and I really enjoyed taking in the city views while cruising around Manhattan. The entertainment was the highlight for me. The live singing, especially the male vocalist, really made the experience feel special and elevated the atmosphere. Everyone working there was very friendly, which added to the positive vibe. As for the tea and food, it was just okay. Not terrible, but not very delicious either. I do wish I had upgraded to the better meal option, especially since even the lowest tier ticket was not exactly cheap. I think paying a bit more for better seating and upgraded food would make a noticeable difference in the overall experience. In the end, we had a really good time. It is a fun and unique way to see the city, and the entertainment truly carries the experience. If I were to go again with friends, I would definitely opt for the higher tier ticket. Long story short they canceled my original reservation that included the New York botanical garden with without any explanation just say it was out of their control. The only thing they offered is to "reschedule" or refund. I ended up picking a regular tour experience. The cancellations seemed to be a common issue, unfortunately. Book this for the novelty tour and live music aspect over the quality of the tea and food. My friend said I had a good time overall 3.5 out of 5 stars. Rounding up to four for the Yelp system. We got on the bus and went a block before the bus broke down in the crosswalk. The AC turned off and we sat there for like half an hour while they tried to start the bus back up. It was so hot. Then we were told to get off since the bus isn't working. We can reach out to customer service for reschedule or refund and given a box to pack our food and get off. The food for the upgraded price was a rip off. Just go ahead and have afternoon tea somewhere else. Definitely the worse afternoon food I've had. The desserts were meh and the sandwiches were eh. I purchased two tickets for Tea Around Town Phoenix on 8/2/26 for a 8/23/26 reservation. I received an E-Mail on 8/21/26 stating the 8/23/26 tour had been cancelled for operational issues. The E-Mail explained not to respond yet since a follow up E-Mail would be sent to reschedule. No follow up E-Mail received so on 8/29/26 I sent in a message for status update on 8/29/2026 expecting a fairly timely response. As of 9/4/2026 no response received. I don't usually have issues with companies like this but so far, this company would be receiving a zero star from me if I could give one. Since I can't get receive communication from this company, I will be sending in a payment dispute with my bank. read more

I went to Tea Around Town and had a great time! Even though I went solo, it was still a really fun experience. This is something I'd definitely recommend doing with girlfriends, family, or even if you're a tourist visiting NYC and want to see some citing around the city. The host had a beautiful voice and the singing really added to the atmosphere. She was singing some good classic popular songs, I got to try about six different teas with different flavors. My favorite part was definitely the desserts, they were delicious! The sandwiches were okay. I also loved that they gave me a keepsake cup to take home along with my leftovers in this cute box that match the theme of the bus. Excellent experience! Although I'm from New York, I was able to learn so much more history about my city while on this tour our tour guides and hosts were amazing. Shout out to Lexi and Heidi. I am born and raised in nyc and my 2 friends were visiting from out of state. We planned this activity as a fun girls date to catch up and enjoy the city. We decided on the luxe package for the wine and more food options. We also wanted priority seating. We were sat at the best seat of the house in my opinion, the very back of the bus with windows all around us so i was very happy about that. Let's start with the fact that they don't play about the timing. I planned to arrive around 430pm for the 5pm departure time. My friends did as well, one of my friends came from PA and arrived by 4pm. The other arrived around 440pm and i arrived at 5:01pm. I was late because the trains had issues in the Bronx and there was a Yankee game. My friend asked the workers about a grace period which they said they leave at 5:05pm so i hauled it and made it prior to that thankfully. My friends were on the line waiting to board and we were the first people on the bus. We took a few photos and had our wine. Everyone was seated and we started moving around 5:10pm and got towards the first street light when the bus came to a full stop but the driver did a hard stop that some cups fell from other tables. Apparently, there were 2 women dressed up running towards the back of the bus. They held the bus for about 3-5 mins but didn't let the ladies on. The workers were nice and came around to clean up but that was insane that the driver would break like that knowing people have drinks and food on a table. The vibes and music were great. It was nice that everyone was dressed up. The staff was nice also and they had someone singing. Very Bridgerton vibes. It was beautifully decorated and very clean. I also enjoyed the cups and take home boxes. The food options were ok, some great and others not so great. I'm also picky eater but i enjoyed having multiple options. Esp for dessert. The glitter cheesecake and cream puff were to die for. I also loved the cream cheese sandwich option. I wish I could have swapped the tea for wine, the wine was very good. I also enjoyed the peach iced tea. As for the experience, I wish they gave more commentary of the spots we were passing. They gave a little bit of commentary, but not too much. Because I am a native New Yorker. I knew all the spots, but if a tourist was on board, they would not know many of the spots we were passing. However, it was nice to see the spots from a bus rather than walking by them because we avoided all the crowds. Especially near 59th & Times Square. I loved that this was an enclosed bus ride with AC rather than open top. I did the north pole express experience with my family and I did not enjoy that. It was too cold with an open top. I also liked that they had holes for you to put your cups in, however that didn't help when you have cups for both tea and wine. This was the reason that so many cups fell when the bus came to a hard stop. One recommendation I would have is for the workers to announce holding onto your cups or putting it into the cupholder for the entire ride just in case the driver needs to make a sudden stop. In addition, they should announce that there is a bathroom on board in the beginning of the ride. They didn't say anything until the end when bathrooms were already going to close. I didn't even know there was a bathroom on board. Lastly, I recommend they put an option on the website for shellfish allergies. My friend is allergic to shellfish and was a bit worried that the lobster roll was very close to the other food. She did bring her EpiPen and allergy medication just in case, but the fact that they put it on the same plate when so many people have shellfish allergies is a little bit worrisome. Overall, it was a good experience. I recommend it. I just think it needed to be a little more organized in some areas. It is definitely tailored more towards tourist than native New Yorkers, but it would be great to be tailored to both. read more

New York City - A Big No! The Porta-potty was filthy. There is no excuse for that. The male employee warned me before I opened the door. The smell was AWFUL. I shut the door in disgust and walked back upstairs. There is no way, (translation "Ain't no way"), I could walk in there. And to think, they prepare the plated meals right next to that restroom. Also, the female employee announced to us, "Just want to let you know that it's a Porta-potty." She was warning us on the down low. The only negative thing I could say about this tour is that they should put a sign on the street where they pick up from. The site does give information of pickup being between 5th & 6th Ave. After calling the number we were told pickup up was in front of the library which is located next to Bryant Park. Other than that,I highly recommend this tour! It was a surprise birthday outting for my mother & she enjoyed every moment of it. Greeted as soon as they opened the door by Laila who was excellent in making sure we were having a good time & entertaining us with her beautiful voice. Humberto was an excellent server who as well pointed out our table where we would sit. He let us know what each tea was he served as well as being helpful with anything else we may have needed. The food was excellent. There are 2 packages to choose from & the lux gave you items such as cucumber sandwiches, lobster rolls,scones & alot of other items. The tour lasted about an hour & half. Terrible experience, I made a reservation to celebrate my mom's birthday for 17 people, some people came from Orlando just for the event. We received a text 40 minutes before the time that tour was supposed to start saying the tour was cancelled due to operational issues. We were already on our way; I tried calling and kept getting a voice mail. I drove to the pick-up location and found another group of people waiting and complaining that they were not getting any response and another lady said she was able to get her call through but that the lady who answered the phone was rude and hung up the phone. The next day, I received an email offering future tours as compensation. I contacted my credit card and disputed the transaction; I want a full refund. read more

We did this experience on Saturday, April 25 in Manhattan. Our tour was supposed to be at 12pm. We arrived at location at 11:45. Three different buses came and went (including the 1pm bus) before ours finally arrived. We waited outside in the pouring rain for the entirety of this time. Our tour officially left around 1:30pm. The late arrival was blamed on traffic due to road closures and rain. We received minimal communication about the delay - just one singular text message at 12:25ish saying our bus was delayed and would arrive at 12:45 (again, it arrived at 1:30). Other issues we encountered: - the bus was freezing cold. When we asked to turn the heat up, we were told the a/c was broken and they were having issues. The ceiling was also leaking. We had been standing out in the cold rain for 1.5 hours so this was not ideal. - they were completely out of mocktails (which we had paid extra for). - our experience was supposed to be 90 minutes but was cut short at 60 minutes - we hadn't even gotten to try every tea. There were six of us girls on this trip celebrating our friend getting married. This was a highly anticipated event on our weekend, and we were incredibly disappointed by the entire experience. read more

I took my mother as a pre Mother's Day gift and we were beyond and over the moon. The bus was on time, Emily our host, was a delight and boy was she a delight to hear as well. We were the first ones in and it was so magical. The setting, the atmosphere, the food was divine. I will definitely repeat this with my 2 daughters. I wish I could give zero stars. I purchased eight tickets for $835.25 and lost every cent. Due to a possible building collapse on 42nd Street, there was traffic rerouting and delay. When the group arrived at the pickup location the bus already left. The group had no way to communicate with anyone from the tour, and they were told no other bus for the day. I reached out to TopView Sightseeing and they are slow with getting back when any customer service question is conveyed. There is no way to effectively communicate any issues, want or needs. This year, the workers with the ripped jeans, the stale bread & dirty utensils, the cup shrunk and we paid for the Luxe and didnt get priority seating or the ahi tuna or the glass of champagne. This experience was exactly what I expected, and let's say, my expectations were not high. I knew that this would be super touristy and overpriced, but it's something that my mentee was excited to do. She is 15 and got all dressed up and loved everything about this experience, so for me, that made it worth it. The whole experience is pretty short. You get on at 42, drive up to Columbus Circle, turn around and come back. Not much of a scenic tour. The people leading the tour do their very best to entertain, even singing at points. Others said the tea is comparable to other high tea services and I would say the quality is slightly below, especially for the price. But it is fine and does the trick. The tea they serve is mostly TAZO (what you get at Starbucks) and you're served just a taste of it. You do get to take your plastic tumbler with you, and if you have leftover food they put it in a cute to-go box. Really underwhelming and don't really recommend it unless you have someone that REALLY wants to do it and will enjoy it no matter what. read more

Not really a tour bus I it doesn't go far the few landmarks they announced we barely paid attention to..... we left from Bryant park and he showed us Bryant Park .... Lost stars due to the bus being late and we didn't get compensated on the end as a matter of fact it ended 20 minutes early.... A rip off . He announced 6 teas we received 5. The bus was cutely decorated. There was a guy singing which was nice. The vibe as a whole was very cute. Was it worth the money? Absolutely not! Would I do it again? No Do I regret making this purchase? No , it was a great experience for what it was. My niece didn't care for the food but I've been to high tea's before and the food was comparable... same scones, sandwiches and desserts. I did have us eat before hand because I knew what to expect as far as food. We received plastic tumblers which is cute as a take away but tea in a glass would've been nice ...At least I thought until the tables that had mocktails glasses flew off their tables during a hard stop.... It was raining so we didn't get out door photo ops. They have a bathroom. A bus sized bathroom but super cutely decorated. Would I recommend? Theoretically, this is such a cute concept Tea on a bus going around NYC? Love the idea. I would not say my time was awful as the crew from the ride were fantastic, informative, friendly, etc. I feel the rides should be extended on account I felt slightly rushed to finish my food and tea. Also, when departing the bus after the event I saw that there was still food set up for people to have on the next ride. However, that food was all set up through the whole ride of the tour. The tea selection was nice however, they should give you different cups to have your tea. I think also their should be an opportunity for people who need wheelchair accessibility to go on a ride. I could be wrong, but I did not see any ramps, etc. displayed. There was a little confusion pertaining to diet when ordering the tickets there was no option for gluten-free diet. I think it should be more clear for that so somebody with any problems could have food they can eat. However, when the server comes when you arrive, they do ask if you had food allergies, but they would've been no way to address them as the food was already placed and prepared. I thought this would be a great activity for my best friend who is visiting and my 5 year old daughter to do. We love Tea time however this was not it. Food - underwhelming Sandwiches seemed like you can get them in a convenient store. Scones were ok but a bit dry. The desserts were decorated with pink sprinkles which my daughter loved. The insides were pretty mushy. Views - you stay on the bus and although it's decorated with cute flowers and linens, you can't really see much but the sidewalk since you're on the top part of the bus, looking down. My Cockroach Experience - Upon 10 mins of the tour starting, the party next to us was staring under our table. The lady said that there was a bug near my skirt and I jumped up and grabbed my daughter. We saw the "bug" crawl out and go towards the next table and they jumped up and ran to ours. (This was all while the tour bus was driving). We saw that it was a HUGE COCKROACH. The server caught it in a napkin and apologized but said, "This is New York." We were so anxious sitting through the rest of the tour and could not eat any of the food. We saw that no one else was really eating or wanting to take a to go box either. I regret not getting off of the bus and asking for a refund. I emailed shortly after my experience and was asked if I had a picture of the cockroach. In that moment of standing on my booth and calming my 5 year old down, I did not think to take one. They never emailed me back. Although I know of New York's cockroach infestation, I expect more from a tea time that I paid nearly $300 for. read more

I would give this zero stars if I could. Booked this for my wife for our anniversary, and they LIED and MISREPRESENTED the menu. When I booked, the menu included the Chicken Salad Sandwich and the Steak Sandwich, as well as a few other items, when we got on the bus, we were informed "that morning" they had "changed their menu" and those things were now on the Luxe menu. I asked if we could buy that package or upgrade, and she was rude and said she didn't have any other food. Dollar Tree decor, very kitchy. Ripped seats, dirty tables, stale pastries. The "tea" was unsweetened (with no option for sugar or splenda) and flavorless. Like someone had run a teabag through too many times. read more

It's a pretty neat experience. A bit pricy for an experience but being with your special friends, worth every second. We were disappointed that our bus was half hour late. We will understand all the reason they want to say but not during a pouring day. Glad to get middle seats on upper deck . The views from our seats are amazing. This tour is a great way to see midtown Manhattan at its best. The city from the side window view, top view and the bus end view are incredibly beautiful. Our table is beautifully decorated of Pastries and sandwiches stacked on a 3 tier server. The tumblers fits perfectly on a cut holes on each table. We were served five kind of teas. Tasted heavenly for me. The server Poured only halfway on each tumblers so won't spilled during travel. Coffee was by special request only. What surprised us was the live entertainment provided by our tour guide. She was pretty good to be singing only in a tour bus. She could be in a lounge or in Broadway. My friends and I are native New Yorkers but I thought this would be a cute experience for us and it ended up being a tourist trap. It was way over priced for the little bit you get. We got there 15 mins early just for them to be an hour late. They didn't even apologize or try to make it up to us in some way like extra time on the bus or maybe some extra food.. something at least. They give you one round of food which didn't taste bad and the ambiance was cute but that's about it. We were supposed to get 90 mins but got 1 hour since they were late. They don't give you a choice of beverages, a guy came around with a pito her of tea which tasted good but instead of pouring a full cup he poured three sips worth then disappears until the 2nd round of tea which was hot tea in 90 degree weather. This experience was awful! I should've listened to the previous reviews. Serving tea and snacks on an unsanitary bus is not a good idea. The bus was also 2 hours late! They didn't inform us until 30 minutes before our bus was supposed to arrive. The idea is nice, but it was executed horribly. Don't do it! If I could've given it zero stars I would've. read more

I went to Tea around Town in LOS ANGELES. DO NOT GO ON ANY TEA AROUND TOWN TOURS. The bus was one hour late. It changed pickup locations twice, once at the last minute the night before, and where there was no parking. I paid for the "Luxe Upgrade" for 4 people -- we did not get the "special mocktail" promised. They had no water on board. We got three tea pours that were 2 ounces each -- chamomile and english breakfast. They ran out of tea after that. While waiting for the late bus, we received a text saying it would be 20 minutes late. After 40 minutes I looked for a number to call -- THEY HAVE NO PHONE NUMBER FOR ANY LOCATIONS. These people DO NOT care about customers and the experience is bad. The server was terrible. DO NOT waste your money. Go to a nice tea shop or hotel instead and save yourself some aggravation. read more

Everything!!! No tour, food was stale and inedible and I was never served tea! They spent maybe $5 per person and charged $125?!!! This is a scam. We got no tour either. And it was less than an hour. Do not patron these scam artists! I had brunch earlier at Baltaire in Brentwood and for $95 we were served 8 delicious, family style appetizers plus an entree and the portions were so large we all had to take food home. I love Tea Around Town. It was a great experience. Our tour guide serenaded us and pointed out important sights!!! The food was good. I loved the scones with the cream!!!! They were my favorite!!! I enjoyed the different tea flavors and we had great servers on the bus. I remember one was Carlos. They were very nice. We all had a great time on the bus. It was so intimate and everyone enjoyed themselves. I will definitely do this again. read more

My mom and I booked the Tea Around Town bus and it was a fun, unique experience. It was the best way to see sites in the city and learn some history, especially during a rainy day! We were greeted by the friendly staff and given a number to board the bus in the order that we arrived. Since we payed more for the VIP package and arrived early, we got to go upstairs and had the best seats and view in the bus at the very front. We got to see everything without any obstructions! Food and tea were good and they kept the tea pouring in the cute little tumblers. It was smart the way they designed the bus because the tumblers fit perfectly into the cut out holes in each table and the tea doesn't spill all over. I wish we could've taken the tumblers as a keepsake because they were so cute and would have been a nice souvenir. Only bummer was that we realized we were missing a bunch of the VIP package food items :( The server tried her best to make up for it by giving us extra regular food since they had run out of all the upgraded food. A special surprise was the live singer who entertained us and announced the various sites throughout the bus ride. Her voice was wonderful and she really elevated the entire experience. Overall it was fun and totally worth it to us! Be sure to book it well in advance, arrive early the day-of for a good seat, and bring cash to tip your server and the singer! read more
