A staff member named Bernard was working at the time, and he helped answer questions. I picked some nice lavender tea. Then my stepdaughter bought it for me. She knows I'm a tea-freak, lol! The owner of the store tells employees not to talk or be friendly with customers. This is incredibly unwelcoming and causes the employees to act soulless and robotic, even people in these reviews mention it. The more friendly you are, the more people want to do business with you, believe me, I worked retail for a decade, I have a clue. I had made a friend in the bayshore store that kept getting into trouble talking to us, but talking to her actually made us buy more things! One time I came in when the store had an hour left open and the girl that was there was being rude and rushing us, so she could leave and close the store! Turns out it was the daughter of the owner. To make matters worse, I bought a heart crystal and gave it to a friend. Apparently it was a fake crystal! My friend dropped it by accident! I don't necessarily blame the store since anyone can get scammed, but I would just say be careful and make sure the crystal is real. Especially with those prices! The thing that gets me the most about Breathe is the soulless ness and unfriendliness vibe that the employees are forced into. There's so many other crystal stores where employees are friendly and fun to talk to! Not Breathe, it just gives me a "meh" feeling, I'd much rather go somewhere else than breathe. It's a shame collective consciousness and tranquility within closed down, those were really fun and had brought in a fun community!

The store displays a prominent American Express welcome sign, yet when I attempted to pay with Amex, the owner scoffed and said, "Didn't you read the sign?" I replied, "Why would I? You have an Amex logo right there." She pointed to a hastily taped-over Mastercard logo, an attempt at correction that borders on false advertising--or at the very least, deceptive practice. Already wearing the elastic bracelets I intended to purchase (which are difficult to remove without breaking), I explained I needed to grab my wallet from my truck and asked if I could return to pay. Rather than responding with basic decency, she replied coldly, "I don't know you." I said, "And now I don't trust you either--see how that works?" I left my phone as collateral, returned quickly, and paid in cash. To top it all off, the irony of a large sign near the entrance reading "Remember, as far as anyone knows, we're a nice normal family" was not lost on me. It's hard to laugh when that kind of messaging is used to cover for behavior that is, frankly, the opposite. A curated facade can only hide so much--what's beneath matters more. This was my first and final visit. Trust, once broken, is not easily repaired--and Home Kingdom made no effort to try.

On 2/15 I drove back out to the store with the intention of getting a refund and being done with the experience. Well, they don't take refunds. Just store credit in exchange. Needless to say, I'm not happy. Now I have to wait and see if the store gets a new watch in exchange for the malfunctioning one. What I don't understand is, I came back the very next day, with the item and proved it wasn't working properly. How does that warrant a refund? This makes no sense at all.
