Service was outstanding. I sat with family and enjoyed a simple tea and toast today. My sister-in-law order the Matcha with blueberry, she let me grab a sip and it was very refreshing, perfectly balanced blueberry, it was sweet but not too sweet paired with the Matcha tea. Not only delicious but very pleasing to the eye it's beautifully displayed in their clear cup. This place feels upscale, trendy. The food options are plentiful. Can't wait to return. Came here on a grey afternoon looking for some lunch and a coffee pick me up with my girlfriend (she was dying to bring me here). I thought it would be dead, but to my surprise it was still pretty busy! Its a small little place, but still a few options to sit down and eat or just sip your java. Bonus points for excellent music choice, very indie singer/songwriter style that made for a nice relaxing atmosphere. Starting with the reason you're probably going here, the coffee. I got a peanut butter latte, and my girlfriend got one of their winter seasonal choices in the ginger bread latte. both served hot. The PB was very smooth and lightly sweet, but the ginger bread one in my opinion takes home the trophy this time. As for lunch we did their sandwich/wrap and a salad combo, which as far as I am concerned is the best deal I've ever seen, Panera eat your heart out. I got the buffalo chicken wrap with a side caesar salad, and my girlfriend got the fig & brie sandwich, with a side peach and avocado salad. The buffalo wrap was nice and light with grilled chicken and a buffalo sauce that seemed almost more like a vinaigrette and the caesar was about as classic as it gets. The fig and brie was an unexpected plus for me and eats almost like a caprese sandwich, while the peach and avocado salad was super fresh, fruit in salad doesn't quite do it for me personally, so we split the trophy for our lunches. My only "major" downside is that the food is served on wooden paddles, I personally like a plate, but that is more of me just being a nit-picker more than anything else. Parking is pretty ample with spots both in the front and the back of the attached lot, but be careful when you're pulling up the first time, you're bound to miss it, I know I almost did! read more

Fantastic spot for breakfast or lunch! My best friend suggested this place and I went in blindly. I fell in love instantly with the cute modern decor and friendly staff. The food here is fresh and delicious! You can tell they really use high quality ingredients. I had a strawberry and avocado salad which was fantastic! It was beyond fresh and delicious! Been here several times now with nothing but great things to say. The food is fantastic along with the coffee. I'm a coffee snob and thought it was beyond delicious. My favorite coffee I've had so far had to be the spring latte with ube. I hope they never get rid of it. The interior is nicely designed and lets in a lot of light. It does get very loud in there at times but is easy to deal with. The baristas are so kind and helpful whenever you have a question. My friend and I each got a wrap and we're splitting and they gladly separated them both for us to make our lives easier. I ordered a hot decaf Americano with cold foam, 1 pump mocha, and 1 pump marshmallow, and it was honestly the best coffee I've had in a long time. My friend got an iced cappuccino, which she also loved. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff makes you feel comfortable right away. It's the kind of place where you can sit, relax, and enjoy your drink without feeling rushed. The only downside is that it's not pet friendly, so Luna had to stay home this time -- but for the coffee alone, I would absolutely come back. Great drinks, great service, great vibe. Dark Horse is another eatery on Long Island that I have been missing out on. For about two years, this little spot has existed and I finally had the chance to check it out. I would say not to judge the location, as it is positioned in a small shopping center in Sayville. Yes, I would've passed by with a quickness, but nestled inside, is a unique gem that packs a punch with its flavors. I love the idea of two friends quitting their jobs to explore a new path and not only discovering that they could do it, but also thriving. Upon my first visit, I had the pleasure of trying the Salted Caramel Coconut Iced Latte and the Hot Honey Goat Burrito. I would recommend them both. The Latte was terrific. You could taste the coconut flavor shining through- next time I think I'll try it hot to compare, but if it's that good cold, hot must be amazing! The Burrito was exactly what I didn't know I needed. It was so good. The goat cheese didn't overwhelm the other flavors, each ingredient complemented the others. If you're sensitive to spice, watch out for the jalapeños! My husband and I enjoyed our time there and were very happy we could dine in. The crew was great, and the food was delicious! We'll definitely be back to try some more brunch items. read more

for a little store in a strip mall this place was packed. i got there about an hour before close and every table was full, there was a line of people standing waiting for orders too, it seems like business is very good. It seems like their target is an upscale cafe brunch type experience, very nice ambiance. they bring the food and coffee to you on a nice plate or plank if you choose to sit, and there were a bunch of couples at tables so it seems to be a popular date spot. prices are reasonable for the experience and overall it seems like a real hidden gem, worth a visit. read more

Very cute place in a strip mall right off Sunrise Highway. It's coffee shop casual and seems very non-Long Island . Very clean lines inside and the servers were all super friendly! Coffee was ok - dark roast was not very strong. Mocha tasted more like hot chocolate. The oatmeal was very good and generous portions. The yogurt was also very good. Not sure why the strawberries were frozen on both items. Blueberries were very yummy. The chocolate croissant was ok, not great. I've never left a negative review before, but this experience was ridiculous. My friend and I ordered drinks, waited, and were handed two coffees after an employee called out my friend's name. Naturally, we assumed they were ours. After realizing the drinks were wrong, we politely let the staff know. Instead of handling what was clearly their mistake professionally, multiple employees surrounded us and acted as if we had done something wrong. If there were two customers with the same name, maybe use a last initial instead of setting customers up for confusion. Super happy I stopped in here today. I decided on Maple Bacon Toast. It was so delicious with a very generous portion of bacon! The maple paired well with the avocado and tomato, it wasn't overwhelming with sweetness. It was very filling also. To drink I had a sugar free vanilla latte with almond milk. It was delicious. Empty at first, the hustle and bustle of patrons began quickly as we sat down and waited for our order. They delivered our food to table. Our sandwiches came with options for a side which was a pleasant delight (salad or soup). I had the BLT it was made perfectly, my friend the Giddy Up. We also got the vegan Thai Wrap to split and try. I wasn't into the pickled onion but to each their own. Otherwise all food was fabulous. I was in the area and saw that Dark Horse was nearby. I pre-ordered and it was ready very quickly, which means a lot when you are on your lunch break. The restaurant is modern, clean, and minimalist. There is a larger menu online than what you see on the wall. Very friendly and helpful staff, they made me feel like they knew me. I always appreciate vegan options on a menu, so this is something that really drew me in. The food was fresh and with good flavors. The Americano was made perfectly and had excellent bold flavor. My only negative would be that the menu is a bit on the pricier side. The Americano, which appeared to be one size only but I would say equivalent to a medium, was $6. I felt that to be a bit high. I felt the wrap was also on the higher side price wise. I will return and try something else, especially for the vegan options and friendly service! I was in Sayville visiting the cat cafe ,and I quickly yelped a place to pick up lunch for my ride home.I tried the fig and Brie grill cheese ,along with a side of avocado peach salad. My palate was blown away by everything.My heart and stomach were equally happy. The ingredients were super fresh and combination of foods were genius. The cafe decor was beautiful. I was very excited to try Dark Horse mainly for the shroom powder add in available but was completely let down when I took my first sip. I asked for double maple (extra sweet) and still theres no maple flavor as well paying 10$ for small size when at most coffee spots i.e Starbucks/ Sweetwaters/ Kings Coffee offer a large size for same price and dont charge for extra sweet. Definitely would be a game changer if Dark Horse had different size options and understands the right amounts for flavors especially when being upcharged for extra and theres still no sweetness tasted. read more

The cappuccino was good and the two different types of avocado toast were good, but it seemed a bit over priced for what we got.
