Very disappointed in today's visit at Teacup. I used to come here all the time and order a Vietnamese coffee with medium ice. Usually, my coffee is filled all the way up and today, that was not the case. My drink was filled half way up. And when I mentioned it to the lady who made my drink, she said it would be another $3 to have it filled all the way. Which didn't make any sense to me since I paid for a full drink and not a half ass drink. The price increased. Which I understand and don't mind paying for the full price. But what I don't understand is paying for a drink full price and getting half of what I paid for. $8 for a Vietnamese coffee is crazy to me. I love Vietnamese ice coffee and Tea Cup didn't disappoint. The coffee flavor was fresh and not stale as I have experienced at some stores. Staff was super friendly. The boba here is made with syrups and artificial ingredients, I'm almost 100% sure. I came to this conclusion because of the taste, the lack of visible fruit on the counters, the line of syrup bottles in view and the missing aroma of delicious fruit one typically encounters at boba establishments. I am all for supporting local businesses and they are my preferred food destination. I don't know if this is a local business but I assume that it is so forgive me if I am incorrect. There are plenty of people on here thought that had no issue with their boba but if you like yours fresh I don't recommend it. If you aren't as "particular" about your boba which is fine also then it may be a good option for you. read more

i was in the area and in the mood for some boba! i stopped in at about 1030am-vey glad that they were open so early. a lot of the other places opened at 11a/noonish. the place was really clean, although somewhat dark because the walls are a midnight blue. when i looked in, i wasn't sure if they were open for business. i definitely knew what i wanted. they have a very large menu, but i needed some hazelnut cappuccino with boba in my life. the drink was made quickly and was exactly what i expected! i would definitely visit again if in the area. they have a sign up asking that photos not be taken in the shop. i took a picture of it. hahah! also, the sign mentions no credit card transactions under $5, and mine was $4.71, so i don't know how strict they are at enforcing the posted policies. read more

Not a fan. The milk in the tea tasted like sweetened condensed milk. The condensed milk with the overly sweet black tea was bad. The boba were ok but was only able to drink half of the tea before my stomach started to churn. Way too much sugar and that milk was just plain nasty. If you have a sensitive stomach when it comes to too much sugar and sweetened condensed milk your best bet is to avoid it. On the other hand, if you're a sugar junkie with an iron clad stomach you'll probably love it. read more

Tea Cup is one of those place where people go to, just because it has been around before other boba places. It's like, the OG of boba in Arlington. Upon my first visit in Tea Cup, I got the Almond Cream Tea with boba. This is basically like milk tea in other boba places, except slightly thicker in consistency. It's not very noticeable unless you're meticulous like I am. The almond flavor was extremely strong and the drink altogether is too sweet for my preference. Their boba however, was not bad. It was nicely chewy, like boba should be. There's not much of a special flavor to the boba, like sweetened with honey or anything, so it's basically just average. I was not very impressed by first impression and it took quite a few months for me to return and gave Tea Cup another chance. This time, I got the avacado smoothie. My boba barista ( is this the right term? xD ), was a an long term worker of Tea Cup and made my smoothie. Just beware that new interns can make the drinks slightly off as they are inexperienced. My avacado smoothie was nicely sweetened, and not at all overbearing. There was enough avacados to make consistency slightly creamy and not icy. It was good, compared to a few other avacado smoothies I've had at other places, as some restaurants and drink shops can be stingy on the avacado. Overall, I feel like Tea Cup is not the best of the best, but its a more affordable option and as long as you're going for an avacado smoothie or Vietnamese coffee, you should be fine. read more

A lot of my friends love Tea Cup, but I think they're just okay. I come here only when they want to go. I've had better in Houston and as far as the Arlington vicinity goes, I prefer Bambu's drinks. I really like Tea Cup's mocha ice cream coffee without the boba, though. I'm not really a boba person. This drink is more pricey than their other selections btw. There are other drink toppings that you can get such as poppers, coffee jelly, grass jelly, fruit jelly, egg pudding, etc which I think is nice. There are also desserts like snow cones and snowflak. Their Jasmine milk tea is another one that I tend to order. Taro isn't that great here; you should go to Pho 95 for a taro boba and the vanilla green milk tea is way too sweet. I have a sweet tooth, but that's full of sugar made into a drinkable form and I think I'll pass on that one. It's my boyfriend's favorite drink though. Not mine for sure. I don't like the smell of this place, either. I believe it's the condensed milk ingredient that they blend which makes this odor. The very first time I came here, I wanted to leave and not order drinks, but it's fine. The place's aroma wasn't reflected in their drink blending. The Asian girls that work here are alright. I remember when this place use to be Movie & Tea.... Well the milk tea Gods are probably still with this location, because this place has the best boba in town! Although Arlington has a lot of boba joints, Tea Cup has the creamiest milk tea with the softest boba, next to Orchid. On weekends it seems as though they premake it, which makes it a little more watered down, however, on days where it is made to order -- it's perfect!! The cups here are one size and they are roughly $4 a drink, including boba. They also have popping boba, various jellies, pudding, and other toppings as well. Other drinks worth mentioning are the mango and taro smoothies. The mango is very sweet and tart, and the taro even has taro ice cream in it! Restrooms are clean, and service is helpful... Except when it comes to actually recommending a drink. Seems like they haven't tried the whole menu yet or they're scared they'll lose a customers referring to a wrong drink. Ordered three drinks: Honeydew milk tea, Thai tea, and Milk Tea. Honeydew milk tea was very creamy and delicious! Thai tea was a bit too concentrated, but good as well. Milk tea was the most disappointing drink! More than half of my cup was filled with ice. I am very disappointed about how they can serve ice and charge the full price of a regular cup. If they had the courtesy to serve a well balanced ratio of ice to tea content, then perhaps they will have a better business with their customers. Great boba! I go to all the hole in the wall places. The employees had a small and seemed happy to work there. The furniture was old and funny in a good way. Darn Sprint service was terrible there but that wasn't their fault. Boba was interesting in that the pearls were smaller than other place but not as small as the small ones I've had at other places. Now music goes a long way when it comes to any sitting and this music choice was all but subpar.
