I stopped by with some friends on Saturday and was really happy with my visit. I got the Salty Goat and enjoyed it. It was saltier than I was expecting but it balanced the sweetness very well. One of my friends got the Bella Dulce ¼ sweet, and it was still a bit too much for our preference. I would definitely get the Salty Goat again but wouldn't get the Bella Dulce. Absolute small business gem in Grand Prairie, I stopped by on a Monday afternoon to study after grabbing lunch at IKEA, which was literally across the street. I was pleasantly surprised at how cozy the interior was. There were people reading books and on laptops alike, perfect place to chill. I was also impressed by the menu! You can tell by the decor and expensive menu of unique drinks that they take their craft seriously. I opted for the Salty Goat (Cajeta (Mexican Caramel) Hazelnut, Espresso Sea Salt), with an exquisite coffee base but was really sweet. I ordered the Salty Goat, iced with extra caramel . I initially asked for almond milk, but they were out, so I switched to oat milk--no big deal. After getting my order, I asked for a straw and was told they were out of those as well . While it wasn't the best first impression, the experience was still solid overall. I had been meaning to write a review since the 2nd time I tried this place, but never had time till now. I thought the first time wasn't bad, but the second time, wasn't good at all. I just get a simple black coffee with room for milk and small amounts of sugar, simple. Well the coffee just didn't do it for me plus it was not even hot, hot, so it got colder driving a block away, which was unacceptable. Directly across from IKEA, this little coffee shop is the perfect spot to grab a cup before you shop. I liked the decor, with lots of plants and cozy seating. I tried an oat milk campfire s'mores latte. It was warm and rich - maybe a tad more smoky tasting than I expected. They play soothing music in the background. Everyone was friendly - this was a great place to relax for several hours. There's tons of outlets, so you can definitely bring your laptop and get work done. Billie Joe started with selling his own roasted beans at the farmers market here in town. He's a spectacular guy and cares about the community. The coffee is the best. If you can sit and enjoy your coffee, I recommend it because the atmosphere is great, WiFi is good, and the fresh latte in a mug is a whole vibe. This has become my new favorite local coffee shop. The atmosphere is very laid back, and the plants are a nice touch. I met Billie on my first trip and he was very welcoming, and knowledgeable on coffee. As a self-proclaimed coffee & matcha connoisseur, Billie Joe did not hit the mark in my opinion. Positives: I really enjoyed the decor of the establishment as well as overall vibe. The low volume and clean aesthetic offer a comfortable place to connect with friends or a productive coworking space. Room for improvement: the staff was kind enough, but nothing notable. I would've loved a welcoming smile or a friendly menu recommendation as we looked noticeably new to the establishment (looked around for specials, outloud stated not knowing where to find the menu, etc). If you decide to go, know that the menu is behind your back if you are facing the counter. And the drinks were okay at best. We ordered the summer banana special with 1 being espresso and the other being matcha. The espresso version tasted like an at-home cup of coffee with cinnamon added (no banana flavor) & the matcha was chalky with a lot to be desired. I visited Billie Joe Coffee today or the first time. I walked in with my daughter who had been here before and brought me on her day off. I decided on a bagel with cream cheese and asked the barista for a coffee recommendation. She said her favorite was the Salty Goat so I went with that. She then informed me that they were unfortunately out of cream cheese so I ordered a danish instead. There was a man behind the counter and he asked if i planned to stay for at least 20-30 min. I said yes. The danish was brought to my table nice and warm and it was delish. The coffee, which I ordered hot, was also delicious. About 15 minutes later the barista brought me a perfectly toasted bagel with cream cheese and said the owner said it was on the house. I think he ran out to purchase some cream cheese just for us! (I think it was Billie Joe himself) I was so impressed. If you're looking for a clean, good vibes, great coffee and great customer service you gotta go to Billie Joes! read more

This shop has LEGITIMATE coffee y'all ‍ the service was relatively quick and I didn't mind waiting since it was super chill inside the store. I'm not picky when it comes to coffee at all, the super sweet watered down ones have their moment but finding a place that does the actual coffee part right is really hard. Billie Joe Coffee is in a great location. Right across from IKEA and just on the other side of the highway is a whole shopping center! There is ample parking and the customer service is impeccable. Inside there are tables for a nice conversation with friends or you can relax on the couch. My coffee of choice came from their specialty menu, called the Bella Dolce which has French vanilla and dulce de leche. Yum! I love how you can taste the smooth espresso and it's not clouded by straight sugar! I prefer a bolder latte and Billie Joe came through for me :) I also ordered the Croffle. It is a flaky croissant cooked in a waffle iron, topped with powdered sugar and syrup. My child didn't like it because "it wasn't sweet enough," thinking it would be like a waffle. Black-owned!!! First, I'd like to thank you for hosting this event for us Yelper's, it was greatly appreciated! I haven't been to that side of town in a long time, it's great to see how much it has grown. From the outside, you can only imagine what it'll look like on the inside, but I was pleasantly surprised when entering. The space was open, and the first thing that caught my attention was the plants. I'm a lover of indoor plants, I feel they bring so much to a space. I love the color scheme as well, it all seems to balance the space and mood. I will admit, I missed the smell of coffee hitting me in the face as I walked in, but there weren't many people there and I'm sure that's why. From what I'm gathering, this is a coffee-heavy establishment. I didn't see anything that brought attention to their teas or frappes, but I believe I missed that menu due to it being hidden behind two other menus. That should be corrected, I had no idea there was a separate menu until one of the other Yelpers mentioned it, after the fact. I'll take responsibility for that as well, I should have asked. I did mention, that I'm not a coffee drinker, and described a drink that was mentioned in a review when I mentioned that to the young lady. Again, I mentioned I don't like coffee, but what was suggested and what I was served, was coffee. I did enjoy the strawberry sweet foam, but I couldn't get past that and threw it away. The star of the visit, that dang Croffle! It was so buttery, flaky, warm, and drizzled with syrup. This was so good, if they were closer, I'd love to stop by and take a dozen to work for a Friday treat. Seriously, you MUST add one to your list when visiting, next. Overall, I enjoyed this visit and when on that side of town, I'll stop by for a Croffle! I will agree with my fellow reviewer, that it may be beneficial to hire a second person to help the young lady at the counter. She's so sweet, but I'm sure when busy, things can get a bit uncomfortable for her. That will also free up Billie, he's so proud of his venture and and has a story to tell. This locally-owned cafe is right across IKEA on Ikea Pl dr., next to Voodoo brewing, very easy access from Hwy 161. It's a cozy place with simple classy design. The owner was super friendly. I got the iced caramel Flan coffee (signature coffee not on regular menu), which was so good & I am typically more of a hot coffee drinker. It was the perfect balance of strong espresso taste & creamy milk, topped with whipped cream & crunchy caramel granules, about medium sweetness. I was in town for work, and my friend suggested we stop by Billie Joe Coffee Co. Actually she insisted, because she lives nearby and she's a raving fan. Now I see why! I loved how cozy and inviting the space felt and immediately wanted to dine-in instead of have my food for take out. (Which is what I typically do) I love tea, and I was excited to see that they have a dedicated menu with a variety of hot and iced teas available. After my friend explained how much time and care the owner puts into sourcing his beans in a sustainable way, I knew I had to try the coffee. My friend opted for a pour over and I chose one of their signature lattes called the "Bella Dolce". It so pso good! I also loved the curated glasses they served all of the hot and iced drinks in for dine-in service. Now their selection of pastries is the thing that took this experience to the next level. I don't know who they have baking here, but I almost cried when I bit into the cream cheese danish that I ordered. It tasted like pure bliss, and it's a true laminated dough (which takes TIME y'all). I was upset that I didn't order another one just to take with me on the plane, because I was leaving that same day. All in all I had a wonderful experience at Billie Joe Coffee Co. The owner seems very friendly, while I was there I could hear him crafting new drinks and experimenting to expand his menu. Ambiance and music is perfect, not too loud, ample amount of outlets with a section for lounging and talking and a good amount of tables to study or get work done. My only complaints is cleanliness, table was stained a bit but it didn't bother me enough to find another table, this may be due to a smaller staff in the afternoon. I want to love this place but I've been there 5 times now and every time there's been an issue with my order and very long wait times even when ordering ahead. Today I ordered ahead, arrived at the pickup time, waited there 10 minutes just to find out my breakfast order hadn't even been started yet and ultimately I had to I get a refund because I couldn't keep waiting. I understand sometimes things get crazy and estimated times can't be met but it wasn't busy and this is the 5th time something like this happened. Also, the price point is a bit high which makes the complications, incorrect, and incomplete orders feel even more frustrating. I hope this place gets a better system down. read more

Great customer service and beautiful establishment. I'm an everyday coffee/tea drinker so I was really disappointed after ordering the hot Paris TX latte. I tasted no expresso or lavender at all. Great business with a really friendly owner. What a nice place, clean, well kept, black owned. Billie the owner is super friendly and has created his own brand and his own drinks. He even roasts his own coffee. In business for 3 years in a somewhat hidden spot, but soon the grow with some large anchor business coming next to the IKEA that's already there. They aren't open late, looks like most days closes around 5 pm. The drinks are nice, well created. Coffee and espresso taste good. Access is a bit limited right now. There is only one way in and that's at the IKEA entrance. Tho this isn't his fault, the city just hasn't placed the rest of the roads yet that are coming.
