I enjoyed the food very much. They had some interesting things that I haven't seen on the menu before. Everything was delicious. Service was great and it was a comfortable atmosphere. Not really sure if they serve alcohol. I know I will end up frequenting this location since I relocated 1K from them. Our first visit was excellent. Everything was prepared to perfection. The service was prompt , polite and most helpful. The entire establishment was spotless. Checked out the Tea House in Orange. I hadn't had a scorpion bowl in forever and I'm glad I ordered one, it was super tasty. For my meal I had the beef and mushrooms with fried rice, boneless spare ribs (4), and a crab Rangoon. It was good! If I'm ever that way again this is definitely a good place to stop. read more

I came all the way from New Hampshire to try this place and the food was not good at all. The cups are very dirty and looks Iike there are food sticking on it, definitely not washed properly. Customer service was bad when we asked to change the dirty utensils. Never going to this place again and will not recommend it to anyone. read more

When we're craving Chinese food we alternate between Tea House and Tea Garden, just to mix things up. Tea House has good scorpion bowls, so that is always a plus. There is usually plenty of seating available in the restaurant, but they have a tiny area that I guess you would call the bar. If you like sitting at the bar watching TV, you might not be comfortable here. I have a pad thai obsession so I usually order it, but alas, Chinese restaurants don't often make pad thai the way they do in Thai restaurants. (Sawa in Gardner is an exception to that rule.) I laughed when my son saw his first dish of real pad thai and said, "Why isn't it pink?" Well son, it's only pink at the Chinese restaurant! Nevertheless, their pad thai is edible but not really pad thai like. My son is a General Gau's fanatic, so he gets that. It tends to have a thick, goopy sauce but he keeps ordering it, so it must be edible. Their crab rangoons are tasty, and the fried rice is so so. If you're closer to Gardner, go to Sawa. If you don't feel like driving, Tea House will suffice. read more

Chicken was tough as leather, broccoli was yellow and terrible, egg rolls tasted like they were left over from the 1st Ming Dynasty. I love Tea House. The staff is very nice and welcoming. The food is fantastic. It's the best Chinese food I have found so far in the New England area between south NH and north MA. Their combination plates are a good deal, you get a main entree, rice, and two appetizers. I recommend the general tso chicken which is great and their boneless spare ribs. I also believe they make their own duck sauce which is excellent. Love it! read more

We stopped here on our way through the area. Chinese restaurants are usually hit or miss for me, but I was starving, and this place was suggested by a friend. I am happy to report that this place was surprisingly good! Our server, an older Chinese gentleman, was super attentive, and lightning fast! The crab rangoons were EXCELLENT! The Hot & Sour Soup was a bit different, quite spicy, and VERY good! The decor needs a bit of attention, as there appears to be a leak in the roof, which is peeling paint off the wall and ceiling. Also, we were not offered the typical fried noodles and sauce, while waiting for our food. The biggest negative for me, was that there was no hot tea offered. I'm not sure what all the bad reviews are about, but I would not hesitate to return here! With a few tweaks, this could be 5 stars. read more

Update December 2014: I feel it is time for an updated review. This place used to be the best Chinese place in the area when I first moved out here in 2009, but I am not sure if they changed management or the way they do things. It just doesn't seem as fresh as it used to be. The food, I would say is about average at best. The chicken wings used to be perfect tasting, and a nice crisp but not overdone. They just don't look like a good chinese style wing should. Not horrible, but not great either. Some of their house specialty plates are ok, such as the sesame beef, and hunan crispy beef. It is decent for local chinese food, and I am glad they do a fairly good business, but I wouldn't drive out of the way to go here. read more

If this is the best Chinese food in the area, then I'll need to cross Chinese food off of my list of food to eat while visiting Orange. My wife and I both ordered the Chicken Lo Mein. It arrived cold, lack luster in the flavor dept. and I don't know what noodle they used (Linguini perhaps), but it wasn't Lo Mein - or at least not a quality brand. Oh! Its good but not the best i would recommend. Out of every Chinese place in this area i think they are the best. They dont have the best drink options but they still have a decent selection i normally order takeout there but when i did i thot the service was decent i suggest you order takeout and not eat there because at least you get your food around the time you get there with takeout instead of waiting. This is my first time visiting the T house. The price is very competitive, the food was very generous in portion, hot and delicious, and the service was very efficient and courteous. I have been going to this restaurant for years. I took a break from Chinese food for a while, then decided to have it , as I was craving it. The Food was GOD AWFUL!!! It was overcooked chicken fingers that my dogs refused, rice had absolutely no flavor and tasted days old, General Tso's was like chewing 2 day old rewarmed Styrofoam, and the hot and sour soup was not hot and was like beef gravy with I have no idea in it! Save your money. You would do better off getting frozen chinese food from the grocery store. The food is not flavored at all. I spent 79 dollars and got nothing. How can anyone mess up a chicken wing? Mine had what appeared to be yellow hardened wart like tumors sprouting off them, the meat was dehydrated and old, obviously refried several times.instead of throwing them out, just keep refrying and sell them to the next schmuck. I am always looking for new places to eat Chinese food. This place is great! They have Hunon Crispy beef that falls apart in your mouth, Scorpion bowls that keep you're spirits bright. The staff is very nice and polite and make us feel welcome each time. The cooks work quickly and get your food to you as soon as possible. All the food they make is delectable! Where to begin, the "thaï spicy noodles" smelt and tasted like vomit , had to get another meal that was extremely salty and not spicy as it should have been , if you order out you have to order extra duck sauce because if you don't you only get 2 little duck sauses and when you ask for extra the only give you one and charge about 2 dollars which is not enough if your family is like mine and you want to get a lot of food. Tea House is a competent restaurant, but has nothing to distinguish it from any other Chinese eatery. While the menu is extensive, the flavor was not anything extraordinary. I ate the Szechuan chicken (with peanuts) and found it lacking in embedded spice or flavor. As the server didn't ask if I wanted a particular spice level and the dish is typically hot, I didn't ask for anything special. I also had egg rolls. They were not piping hot, so I don't think they were cooked to coincide with the plating of my main course. Meal was approx $14 before tip. Service was prompt and friendly. Used to be my favorite place to go but over the last 2 years it has slowly gotten to the point where I won't even think of as an option. The food has gone down hill and I was put on hold multiple times for an over the phone order (crab Rangoon's and Peking ravioli so a very small order) to the point that I hung up.
