Giving two stars because for a buffet the food wasn't bad. Beyond that, though, going here was a terrible experience. We walked in and I stated that it was the two of us and we both wanted a soda and a hot tea. When they gave the total I asked if they were sure they charged for the two drinks and teas because I thought it seemed a bit low. They assured me they had and we picked a table and went to grab a plate. When we arrived back at the table the drinks had not come and about 5 minutes later I asked for them. Two or three minutes later a woman arrived with the drinks and told me I had only paid for one tea and one soda and needed to pay for the other two. Not a problem except she repeated this 3 times very loudly and in an accusatory tone. I did try to explain that I had asked if they charged for it but was completely ignored. After that noone came to check on us or anything and we left as quickly as we could. We will not go back. Had they simply said I'm sorry but we failed to charge you for a couple of drinks we would have left a nice tip and had a pleasant experience. I didn't leave a tip and will never go back. If you want a pleasant experience go to the buffet in claremont, NH. Much better atmosphere. read more

Been here countless times. I come from a "fine dining" background and appreciate the JB & Michelin star award winners as much as the next guy, but this is a solid buffet. Hectic during busy hours, for sure. Our extended family loves to meet here as it is a convenient location for everyone. It's not uncommon for us to reserve the side room and bring upwards of 20+ people (lots of loud messy kids too) and they are always courteous and helpful. It's the perfect place to teach kids how to select what they want and NOT TO WASTE FOOD (they understandably hate seeing wasted food here.) In a nutshell, if you didn't like the food you put on your plate, get something different next time. And if you had a "bad experience" try again, they sometimes have "bad days." And as a lifetime restaurant person (front and back of the house) I totally get it. The price point affords them several get-out-of-jail-free cards when they sometimes drop the ball. A good place to just chill and take it slow, especially if you're feeling cheap/broke. Guiltless dining, even for the most frugal. Love this place regardless of all its totally understandable flaws. Highly recommended if you're looking for lunch or dinner on the cheap. And again, it's all-you-can-eat. enough said. read more

The staff is rude, never a smile from anyone. Food is edible, but if you go there when they first open, you're going to get leftovers from the night before, and it's cold, and dried out. They tell you to microwave it if you're not happy with it. We went there for the Christmas buffet they had years ago with snowcrab clusters, and the tray only had a few in there. We'll, we had 4 people in our party, and it's all you can eat, so thats why we went there. We'll it took them about a half hour to bring out more. When they did, they only brought out 6 clusters, so we went up and grabbed them, as that's what we came for. The cook came over to the tray after we took the crab, and sat there staring at us stirring the water in the empty tray, giving us dirty looks. It's supposed to be all you can eat. That tray should of been stacked full of clusters, so people could enjoy them, but it took them another half hour to bring out more. We were disgusted, as they advertised crab clusters but only would bring out a few at a time. They want you to eat the regular stuff they have, but charged extra for the Christmas buffet, yet not keeping the tray full of crab.theyre cheap, to give you what they advertise, for more money, yet not keep the tray filled. The lights above the food, especially over the fried noodles is disgusting, from people pulling up the noodles to get them on their plate. We pointed it out, and it still hasn't been cleaned. I would describe this place as a standard Chinese buffet. The food is good - your standard Chinese dishes with a few American tossed in. It is standard buffet quality. The interior is drab although we found the service to be pleasantly quick. The reason I only give 3 stars is because the selection is on the small side. We paid $64 for four dinners and sodas. The past few times that we have been at this restaurant we have filler our stomachs with food but have been disappointed with the quality, service and cleanliness. The restaurant itself seems to be getting dirtier every time we visit and this evening the tables were sticky, the floor was nasty and the bathroom definitely needed a good cleaning. Some of the food here was good but other items were lacking. The dumplings were overcooked, the "sushi" was almost inedible and they didn't fill the cocktail shrimp which is what we have encountered multiple times. I've been to a lot of Chinese food buffets and this one takes the cake. I'll be straight up here, if this were a regular restaurant, it would score no more than 1 star in my opinion. Decor sucks, booth seats suck, silverware is clearly from the dollar store, and the plates and cups probably are too. But Here's what doesn't suck, the quality of their food. It's mediocre at best in my opinion, however, that's what separates this place from the rest of Chinese buffets. That and the fact that the buffet was well maintained by staff. Overall rating: 2.7. Bottom line: Not an awful place to visit if you are dying to visit a Chinese buffet but avoid the sushi. However, if you live near or around Keene, you'd be better off going to Keene Buffet. The food at China Buffet is a hair, and I mean a hair better, but there isn't much difference between the two and it isn't worth the drive to go to China Buffet. Corrections: I decided to visit this buffet because of the decent reviews. I went for dinner on a Wednesday at 6 p.m. and I would like to note the following changes since the previous reviewers visited the restaurant one to three years ago: 1) Soda is NOT included in the price of the buffet. 2) There were no snow crab legs 3) There were no mussels. 4) This is NOT a four star restaurant. First, things must have changed quite a bit since 2009 because I am shocked that someone gave this place four stars. I mean I am Asian and was raised by a Chinese buffet junkie (my father) who was also bitten by the travel bug so I can tell you that having been to Chinese buffets from Cally to Virginia, this is NOT a four star Chinese buffet. Now to be fair, you really can't completely judge a place after visiting just once but based on my visit, this is how I would rate this place: Food: 2.5 (which is 60% of my rating) The decent: Some of the dishes such as the sesame chicken and the hot and sour soup were decent rating around a 3 to 3.5. As a plus, the pastry desserts were not stale...although this is a bit of a crapshoot. The mediocre: The majority of the dishes were blah, from 2 to 2.5 and everything was a touch on the lukewarm side. The awful: You don't expect a lot from Chinese buffet sushi (with the exception of a handful of restaurants, most of the Chinese buffet sushi I have tried have been barely edible), but 3 out of 4 pieces of the sushi I tried was just disgusting. I don't know why I didn't just stop eating any of them after the first one, but I am apparently a glutton for punishment. Atmosphere: 3.0. Pretty much on par with what you would expect from a strip mall Chinese buffet, which is to say, not great. I did give them an extra half point though because the place was pretty clean. I rarely do updates but I feel I'm really giving China Buffet the short end on this one. The mister and I have been back several times and it really depends on the time of day. When it's busy, or just opened, the food can be good. The salt and pepper chicken is pretty dependable and the scallion pork is usually decent. But the real sell--all you can eat California rolls. What?! Yeah! Of course it's not top end, it's all premade out of a refrigerator, but since it's like five bucks for a single roll elsewhere and China Buffet is six bucks or whatever for AYCE...I'm willing to wiggle on the quality a bit, and the only real "problem", if you will, is the mushy rice. Doesn't bother me as much as it does the mister, hence the quotes. Cheap,basic, and friendly place to eat. best times to go are from 1 to 3 and 5 to 730 the food rotation is much faster so fresher food. you don't got much variety to choose from besides your basic China buffets foods. But when fresh its great! The one in Keene is better variety of food and if you don't mind driving 15min longer to get to it. But not sure if the price is the same or more. Upon arrival, staff were friendly and welcoming. After being seated and served beverages quickly, my friend and I were left to eat at our own pace with no pressure of clearing plates or paying the bill. If you're looking for a typical buffet atmosphere and typical buffet cuisine, this is the place to go! Complete with greasiness, deliciousness, variety, and a few odd smelling dishes that don't resemble any food you've ever eaten before and should not try at a buffet. The buffet is good on certain nights that they're most busy, the food seems to be hotter and more of it. Catch it on a slow night and it's still hot but you might find less. I would recommend ordering from Beyond Menu app. It gives you the complete menu and you get fresher food. The prices are great too! You can specify what you want and don't want too.
