Nice Japanese pastry, tea, and coffee place in downtown Toronto. You can find nice cakes and lattes here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's not a very big place, but it certainly gives you a good time while enjoying your treats.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Good decor with a comfy vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Recommended.

***updated! original review is below!*** ***updated feb 2026*** been here a few times before. friendly staff, amazing selection of desserts and handcrafted specialty teas & lattes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]really bright space, more sesting tables towards the back - but the restrooms can use a bleach down (very bad odors).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] we got their seasonal sundae - jasmine pistachio & a genmai latte! everything was delicious and we look forward to coming back and trying the rest of their menu! ***original review*** oh my lordy!? heaven in your mouth!! their profiterols (cream filled puff pastries) are so addictive!! an oozle of decadant cream fillings in each one! we got early gray, mocha, jasmine, vanilla, strawberry and another specialty black tea one! absolutely deeeelicious!!

Really enjoy this place! It's open late and has hojicha latte. One of my favourite obsessions of late. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's always busy![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So far, everything I have tried I've really enjoyed whether sweet or savoury. The crunchy eclair was light and airy with the perfect crunch for contrast. The hojicha you can customize for sweetness. Always been solid. I had the salmon sandwich which I inhaled so from what I can remember that was delicious. In addition, consistent from the first time coming in - customer service. Very friendly whether late at night or early in the day.

Never lets me down. Here's their strawberry pistachio cake slice. Moist, fresh, with a bit of cereal at the bottom.

I've been coming here for years. It's my go to cafe for pastry, it's good for catching up with friends or study session. I've tried working from this cafe twice. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's very limited outlets (I think two) so you should come early if you want to secure a spot. There's plenty of seats otherwise.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Note: if you are in vpn and use the wifi, it'll keep disconnecting. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is good, it's so aesthetic there's also cute instrumentals in the background.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I had a meeting and it was a little loud. My voice was echoing but still understandable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The pastries are also delicious! I also recommend their hinako matcha latte. It's very good and you can tell the matcha is very good quality based on the color. Their soft serve sundaes are also good. Highly recommend this cafe! Just come early if you want pastries

Was craving a matcha dessert after dinner, I got the matcha and kinako sundae! It was super yum! the matcha flavour was strong, the kinako flavour was a light flavour. The toppings made it better tbh, if it was just the soft serve itself, it wouldn't have been as good. It came with mochi pieces, crunchy topping, tea jelly, rice crispes pieces. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The store is pretty packed at 8PM most seats were filled and most pastries were sold out so come earlier if you want them.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They seem popular as I saw a huge line at around 6:30pm too. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is a cool tone cafe with spacious seating in the back, and seats at the front of the store they had a lot seats but it was all filled up.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was fast, but nothing special.

Excellent food and drinks! I keep coming back to Bloom when I want high quality ceremonial grade matcha. You can tell by the photos that the colour of the matcha is fantastic and they really value quality of their products. They also have fantastic pastries and I regularly order the cream puffs and other snacks. Today we ordered the onigiri deal: $8.99 for 1 drink and one Onigiri snack They have many options for onigiri such as spicy salmon, spicy beef, imitation crab, etc. I would highly suggest this combo with a drink! Their drinks by themselves normally cost between $5-$7 which is a similar range to most cafes in the area. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The seating and cafe is attractive and feels very welcoming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have some outlets and a pretty spacious store for downtown Toronto. The service is always very friendly and helpful. Overall, a great experience!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Bigger inside than it looks.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I like the decor- it's bright and clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was quick. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Came in on a Saturday at around 4pm and it was quite busy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the hojicha latte. Overall, I found it okay. It's a bit more bitter than I'd like, but still good. My boyfriend got a matcha latte and I thought it was okay as well. For two drinks, it came out to a little over $15.

Came back to try their genmai sundae and it came with black sesame pudding, 2 small mochi balls, and a lot of sesame to garnish. There was a layer of rice krispies at the bottom as well to add an extra crunch and it was really tasty. One thing that I did not like were some of the crunchy bits were quite hard and caught me off guard but I guess it added more texture. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service was great and the store itself was really cute![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I went here with a friend to celebrate her graduation. Food was light and sweet, hojicha tea hit the spot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is small with not much seating though.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Delicious japanese dessert spot - not too sweet and with many unique flavors!! The matcha ice cream had an intense matcha flavor which I love but tasted more sorbet than creamy ice cream The jasmine darjeeling was hands down amazing - probably taste even better if I ate it right away when it was fresh but I had it a day later and it was still very good! The tea flavor was strong and not too sweet, sponge part was also bouncy

    Christina Y.

Visited recently and got their genmaicha ice cream which had cereal on the bottom and some other toppings. I liked that the tea flavour came through strong! It was around $8. Staff are still kind and welcoming as always!

The match latte is 6.95 CAD which is on the pricier end, but they use ceremonial matcha so that makes sense. Their cakes are great! I have tried their yuzu matcha cake, strawberry pistachio cake, peach earl grey cake and they have been delicious so far. Would recommend!

Love how the store also has sections where it is like a little market selling local goods and always fun to see the dogs that are sitting outside. One thing I really love is that they sell handmade goods from local artists and host craft nights, it feels very community driven and adds such a fun, unique touch to the café. Drinks I tried: Maple Goguma Latte - Slightly nutty, lightly sweet, and super comforting. I added a shot of espresso, which made it perfectly balanced and not too sweet. Dalgona Latte - A really fun drink with great texture. Just make sure to stir it well since the sweetness settles at the bottom. They're known for their creative, seasonal drink menu, and I'm already excited to come back to try what they release next season. Definitely a must-visit if you love cozy cafés, unique drinks, and supporting local artists.

Their history in the 20th century was that they started in Berlin, Germany in 1919, but they were a Jewish family who ended up immgrating to Israel in 1933, opening their store there, and expanded locations throughout Israel. Their history in Toronto & North America (including some in the US) is much more recent since opening in 2017. Unfortunately, my closest is New York City; none in Maryland or DC area. This location is in busy downtown Toronto. We sat outside on their big patio area as the weather was warm and could enjoy the view of the buildings, people, cars, etc. Server was friendly answering our questions. I ended up getting an egg benedict with salmon in a croissant. It was creative and delicious take on egg benedict. The only issue was it was messy to eat in the croissant, but I didn't care as it was so delicious. My girlfriend got a Belgian waffle with blueberries, whipped cream, etc. It was unique and very good & sweet too as I tried a bite. Service: It was not great. We sat for a while and no one took attention (we were outside and they were busy but no excuse for them -- they should do better). We had folks come in and out and were somewhat nonchalant and not attentive. Food: This was the great part of the experience. - Berries and Granola with Greek Yogurt: My brother in law got this an he devoured it and said it was great. - Farmers Breakfast: My wife got this and she LOVED it. She went back to get their Halwah Latte (which she said was just OK) - Egg white Omlette Skillet: I customized my food and it was good -- for reference I've had better only because the cheese was feta and it was unclear that this was the only option as I don't love feta. Also I'm pretty sure while I asked for egg whites there was normal egg (i.e., eggs). If you order egg white make sure the server hears you. They screwed this up for me. This is why I'm giving it three stars -- I could have made a stink but didn't think it was necessary to do so. All in all -- I'd recommend this spot to folks but don't go there thinking the service will be great.

The café itself is beautiful and has a very modern, aesthetically pleasing atmosphere. It was extremely busy during my visit, which is always a good sign. Because of the rush, a few tables still had dishes waiting to be cleared, making it a little difficult for some customers to find a place to sit. The tables are also fairly close together, but that's understandable given the downtown Toronto setting. The smoked salmon croissant was the highlight of my meal. It was fresh, flavorful, and packed with ingredients that worked really well together. I would absolutely order it again. My only disappointment was the latte. It looked beautiful and tasted good, but it was served warm rather than hot. Since our breakfast arrived about 10 minutes after our drinks, my coffee had become even cooler by the time I started eating, which took away from the experience.
