I had a Swedish Couple's Massage, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Interior: Upon entering you are offered tea or water. I had water, and it was nice seeing it come from a filtered machine and not straight from a tap (if that matters to you, to me it's a perk). Then you check into your room. All rooms are labeled with a herb, i.e. Rosemary, but to be frank, I'm not sure if the names hold any significance. The sitting area to the massage rooms, everything looks renovated and new. It looks very clean with nice modern light gray tones. The massage room itself had clean white sheets with a nice himalayan salt lamp. Massage: Before the massage began I was reminded of the type I would be receiving: a Swedish couple's massage. I was asked how hard/firm I would like to receive pressure during the massage, and I was asked if I wanted to have my head or face massaged. I was reminded that if something were to make me feel uncomfortable, I always could mention it. All of these verbal mentions were really comforting to me. It made me feel like I was in a very safe and considerate environment. The massage itself was very relaxing, with soft instrumental music in the background and the lamp glowing a nice amber light in the dark room. After being massaged on my back with oil, the masseuse used a hot towel to wipe my body of the oil residue. A towel was laid on my hair to prevent massage oil from spilling into my scalp. Again, considerate. This experience made me really enjoy a massage. I feel like I would definitely come again and am currently thinking about their membership deal. I was looking for a pedicure on a weekday morning and decided to try this spa. I did not have a reservation but was able to be accommodated after a 20 minute wait. First off, this place is TINY. They only have 2 pedicure chairs and 2 manicure stations...and not enough staff to even cover that while I was there. They do have rooms in the back for massages/waxing but those were not being used. They try to create a spa atmosphere with the music and the decor, but all I felt was claustrophobic in the space. The employees were very nice and professional. Shelia did an great job on my nails. The pricing is a little confusing. They have 4 different kinds of pedicures but I could not get a good idea of what the difference was between them. There are also separate prices for members and non-members. The biggest negative was the cards placed prominently on the front desk, reminding customers that they will get a surprise if you give them a 5-star yelp rating. What more can I say? Very disappointing. Not worth even the Groupon price. I bought a voucher for a couples' massage normally priced at over $200. With 44% off plus a one-day additional 20% off deal that Groupon was having, the voucher came to about $115 for 50 minutes. Even at this price, it is more than I pay at my regular massage spa. There, I get a whole hour for $50. But based on the reviews, I thought this place would be worth trying. I totally regret it. The receptionist was very nice. Her name is Aziza. She was super helpful when I was on the phone scheduling the appointment and she was super nice when we arrived and while we waited for one of our massage therapists to show. The massage room was small but got the job done. The only good part was that the massage tables were heated. That was nice to slip into. But things went lackluster from there. I got very gentle pressure when I had asked for firm, especially on my back. I didn't feel that any knots were worked out at all. It was frustrating because I kept waiting for the massage therapist to go harder and work those out, but she didn't. Neither of us were ever asked how we were doing or if the pressure was okay. She did give a nice temple rub though. The other therapist gave a good head massage. The worst part was that we could hear loud music and clapping from the other side of the wall. It was so incredibly distracting. I almost asked them to stop and wanted to walk out. I couldn't relax with all that noise. We will not be returning or recommending this spa. I honestly don't believe that this 50 minute massage is normally priced at over $200. It's things like that that make me doubt Groupon and just how good its deals are. read more

I've given a review before but felt I should give a review now that we've used them during COVID. We were hesitant to book a massage right now, but Tea Spa Wellness took all necessary precautions including taking our temperature and wearing masks/face shields. They required hand sanitizer and placed covers on our shoes when we walked in. They also use UV lights to clean all of the rooms. I was also concerned I would be uncomfortable wearing a mask during the massage, but once the massage started I didn't even notice. The entire experience was fantastic and well worth it especially now with everything going on. If really needing to relax right now, I highly recommend going to Tea Spa to be safe! read more

This was a very nice location! Spotless and very relaxing spa music playing while you drink tea in the waiting room. The waiting room isn't super loungey but perfect for the 5 min while you wait. The rooms were individual and a good size, only a tiny bit of noise from outside the room. But the best was my masseuse Leah. Before starting she had already warmed up the bed for me. She asked about any focus areas and any areas to avoid. She asked a few times throughout to confirm pressure was good. AND she even asked if I have makeup on before rubbing my temples and forehead (I didn't but would have appreciated it if I did!). While massaging she also made sure to keep me covered and warm under a soft sheet and blanket. Great job! I only come to the area to visit family but I will be back!! I got a Groupon for a 50 minute signature massage. A couple days before arriving, I filled out the massage questionnaire on their website which was recommended to do to speed up the process on appointment day. However, when I arrived they told me they could not find my questionnaire and I had to redo it. I noticed that they were not so organized on how they run things and there is no real receptionist there to greet or guide customers on where they should go or what they should do before/after the massage. But not a big deal. My masseuse was Mimi and she did a great job. The massage is in your separate room with the lights dimmed and melodic music playing. Today was my and my boyfriend's first time getting a massage in over three years. We had a Groupon and the spa honored it with no problems. Leah and Amy did an amazing job!! They were attentive and thoughtful, making sure the pressure was good and that we felt relaxed and comfortable. My back and shoulders feel noticeably better than they have all month. Thanks to Groupon for getting me to try this place out! I bought a deal for a paradise spa pedicure and had a great experience. Both the scheduler I spoke to and the technician who did my nails were very helpful and professional, and I regret not getting their names to thank them here. I had booked two appointments for myself and a friend over the phone - they took our Groupon voucher numbers when I reserved, which ended up saving us time after our nails were done. We showed up a little before our appointment time and were promptly shown to the pedicure chairs, although my friend had to wait for the second technician to finish another appointment. The place is tiny and probably only has a max of two nail technicians at any time. There are only two pedicure chairs and two manicure stations, although the inside is well decorated and seems very neat and clean. They didn't have a huge selection of colors, but it was more than enough for our purposes. The paradise spa pedicure was amazing. If you have callouses and/or other undesirable stuff, then this is the ultimate treat. My technician took great care in pampering my feet and finishing off my toes perfectly. It took about an hour from start to finish, although we were there for a total of about two hours because my friend got a gel mani as well. They were a little on the slow side, but we had nowhere to be and did not mind. read more

Dorianne was amazing! This was my first massage more than 10 years and I was having a lot of shoulder and neck pain and headaches. She was super welcoming andsweet and her aura just relax me immediately. I was put into a room very clean comfortable relaxing excellent temperature and she would always check on me asfar as my comfort level. She gave me great tips as far as stress reduction. I didn't know what to expect afterwards. I did have some involuntary muscle spasmson my left shoulder that night and was very sore afterwards but it was a good sore. The last facial I had was the worst ever. My face was bleeding and bruised. It took a lot of courage to schedule another one, but I was long overdue. Maria was gentle and used products for sensitive skin. She informed me that I should never use steam in a facial, and she made sure that everything was done with particular care. It was my first time here and I didn't know what to expect. I was a little skeptical/worried about cleanliness and safety measures given COVID, but all my worries were left at the door. The place was super clean, no one waiting in the waiting area, clients by appointment only and they took me immediately to the room. Amy explained that everything had been sanitized. I got undressed and the rest is history. I was incredibly stressed out and had so many knots around my neck, shoulder area and back. Amy did such an excellent job relieving all those pressure points. Wasn't willing to leave a positive rating, even if it meant I got a free sauna voucher... By far, the worst massage I've ever had- and I've had many! Although I requested firm pressure, it was extremely light- and I did speak up several times. She skipped major muscle groups. The only place she applied pressure was my scalp- so I left with a headache and my body feels worse then it did when I started. It was also extremely awkward, as she straddled me- thankfully I was fully covered. I've heard a lot about Tea Spa Wellness and finally decided to take the plunge. Lucky for me they have a LOT of discounts, they were sold out on Groupon, but they offer discounts through LivingSocial as well as on their website. So anyways, I made an appointment for the 24th, my birthday is on the 26th so I wanted it to be as fresh as possible. Unfortunately, they were only open for members that day, but they called me immediately and were able to take me on the 23rd. I had a shellac manicure and classic pedicure all done by Shera. She is very sweet! She made small talk with me, but also knew when to just let me sit back and relax. As soon as I entered the salon she was ready for me and offered me some yummy chamomile tea :), (if you don't like unsweetened tea, don't ask for it here). The pedicure was verrryyyyy relaxing, she took her time and made sure my feet looked awesome. She gave a very soft, yet firm foot massage, which was awesome because some nail techs try to break my foot in half. On to the manicure, Shera was very meticulous about shaping my nails and she definitely went the extra mile to make sure I loved my nails. She gave an awesome hand massage as well, and a one day "member price" pass for my next visit. The only downside of the whole experience was. A) it is a very small nail salon, so even if there are only two other customers, if they are loud it can get kind of noisy.B) I called the receptionist because I could not find the salon at first and I asked her where they were located, she seemed kind of uninterested and didn't really help. Even when I entered the salon, Shera was the one who greeted and took care of me. She was kind of just....there. This was my first time at Tea Spa and I loved it! I got the Massage and Facial Package, which was reasonably priced. I accidentally put the wrong phone number when I booked and when they couldn't reach me and my appointment was cancelled, but luckily I called the same day and was able to rebook and they were very accommodating and apologetic even though it was my fault that I listed the wrong number. The massage was great! She asked me a few times if the pressure was right and made it all very relaxing. The facial was nice as well, although I don't think I would go for a facial there again I even managed to leave my earrings there and they called my almost immediately to come get them. The Wheaton location has some good massage therapists - had several good massages there. The Gaithersburg location does not. Had two massages there, plus one foot "massage". It was clear that the therapists who performed the foot massage aren't professionally trained, do not understand pressure points. It was more annoying than therapeutic and a complete waste of money. While I waited for her to finish the nails of another customer, the other nail technician Jeannie already prepared my nails. Both ladies were very friendly and professional. The only negative I can think of is that the manicure stations are close to the front door and so you get a cold blast whenever a customer walks in or out. The manager of Tea Spa reached out to us after reading about our less-than-stellar massage experience, and invited us to try two different massage therapists. Nadia is definitely the real deal. She is attentive, understands how nerves, tendons and stress points are at each problematic areas, and have outstanding muscle memory to keep a particular firmness level consistent through the hour. We came right after another couple had finished their session and we knew were were in good hands seeing their relaxed and happy faces. While Nadia and Cathy (manager) were fantastic, my partner didn't fare as well. Her therapist (Karen) was hard working but needed experience that'll no doubt come with time and additional training. One side of her neck (one of the problematic areas) was swollen several hours later, hence I took away a star. At the end of the day, get Nadia for massage and reach out to Cathy if you have any concerns. They are genuine people who are a necessary foundation of a successful business to come. Amy and Annie were very thorough especially with head massage, loosening tight muscles on my upper back, lower back and foot massage. The last time my boyfriend & I came he didn't really like his masseuse so he wanted to try a different person. Today he received his massage from Leah which he said was way better than last time & he would definitely come back to see her. I currently have a tear in my meniscus & I got approval from my physician before I came who said it was fine as long as my knee wasn't touched. This place is AMAZING! I got a groupon my my husband and I for a foot pedi. The front desk women (I wish I knew her name) squeezed us in for the last late night appointment so me and the hubbs could get our feet done together. The staff is super sweet!!
